    I actually loved how he got better as the scene went along - was he getting the hang of it, or did Misha forget to sing quite so badly?!

    CAS SINGING TO THE BABY OMG THAT WAS THE BEST THING EVER.


    I also loved Dean giving Cas dating advice. And Cas' talk with Ephraim was great. I love that Cas' inner conflict is being foregrounded and it's not just "oh look at Cas doing funny human stuff". And any time that angels editorialize about Castiel I'm happy.

    Sam telling Crowley that Abbadon is scarier than him, and Crowley throwing the paper at Sam and petulantly crossing his arms in response was hilarious. All their scenes together were great.

    Cas and baby was my favorite, then Crowley and Abbadon, finally Sam watching Crowley injecting the blood. But typing all of that I have to say I enjoyed the whole eps. Felt so bad for Cas when he found out it was just a "date" to watch baby.

    Same here. I was bit bored with the Cas storyline last night. But the Crowley scenes made up for it. I think being put on hold was probably my favorite scene, but the very end with the blood injection...wow. Didn't see that coming. Who knew when we first saw Crowley in this show that he's become such a complicated character.

    I've said this before and I'll say it again - Sheppard is just fantastic. He's been shackled in a chair for the past four episodes we've seen him in and he's able to act circles around almost everyone he shares a scene with. The exception to this is Padalecki, who manages to hold his own in the scenes that he has with him and that's pretty damned impressive. The two of them just have a natural chemistry with one another that really draws you in and leaves you wanting more. In the Wizard of Oz episode, they had a scene together that didn't even involve dialogue and it was just as amazing as the ones they have that involve heavy, emotional dialogue. So I'm not at all surprised that their scenes together last night wound up becoming my favorites because they're amazing together.


    That being said, I feel as if the show is wasting the chemistry that Padalecki and Ackles have together by having them split up so much. It's the entire reason why the show has been successful for the past 9 seasons and I don't understand why they would want to abandon the formula that's kept this show on the air for as long as it's been around. I'm hoping that next week's episode will get things back on track, but even if it does it will be short-lived with the conflict that's going to arise once the secret about Ezekiel comes to light. I'm not looking forward to that at all.

    I was literally laughing out loud at that scene. Not just because he was horribly off-key at first, but because Greatest American Hero was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. I did find it kind of interesting that Cas, who doesn't usually get pop culture references knew the theme song from that show, though. Hilarious scene.

    That was probably my favorite scene out of all of them, when Crowley threw the paper in Sam's face. Jared's deadpan reaction to it was just awesome and is a testament to how awesome the rapport between he and Mark Sheppard is. They don't even need dialogue to show how great they play off one another in scenes like this. I gotta say, I'm loving me some Sam and Crowley and I look forward to seeing even more of them together.

    I didn't hate her so much as wonder what the hell she was thinking. Who lets some guy she barely knows watch her infant? She's not exactly in the running for Mother of the Year, that's for sure!

    I was pleasantly surprised with his character development. From the looks of the promos I thought we were going to get mostly awkward Castiel and was disappointed by it. But after seeing how well he's adapted to being human with no one to rely on but himself, he deserves some credit for how resilient he's become. He's having some rough times, sure, but he's not letting it get the best of him.

    Agreed! I think Cas is no longer satisfied with his position as sales associate. Ephraim gave him a choice - live (or die) as an angel or a man. I think he's gonna choose angel - even without the powers...

    LOVED him singing to the baby! All of the Dean/Cas scenes were great imho. I thought Ephraim's perspective was another great layer to Cas too.

    I know, right? Her outfit screamed "I'm getting laid tonight!" which is kind of irresponsible considering the fact that she already has an infant with no father in the picture that we've seen. Castiel is a weirdo magnet. That chick Daphne he married while he was living as Emmanuel took him in after finding him naked walking out of a lake. The poor guy just has no luck with women.

    There are a couple of practical reasons why J&J aren't on screen as much anymore. Any time one of them can carry a scene - the other one gets time off. They've been going at this a long time and they both have little kids now too. It also gives them a chance to work with other actors - it helps to keep your skill set up (as long as they are good actors, like Sheppard). I thought the moment they shared over the phone at the end of the episode was actually a really nicely shot scene that also underscored where the brothers' relationship is at right now. And I'd be surprised if they were on set while the other was filming his half...

    Absolutely. A friend of mine was cracking a joke about Cas inheriting Sam's Peen of Death after his encounter with April and before we realized that his "date" with Nora wasn't really a date we figured that she'd be dead by the end of the episode. Haha.

    Yes, I do understand that some of it is logistics. Jensen has a newborn daughter and Jared has another one on the way very soon, so of course they would appreciate more time off. Jensen even gave up the chance to direct this season because he'd rather spend time with his family and it's completely understandable. And of course they're both capable of carrying scenes apart but it's their dynamic together that makes this show so special to begin with.



    It's a bit of a trade-off because we get to see them having amazing scenes with other actors and allows them both to step into the spotlight a bit more as well. I'm just a Sam and Dean fan first and foremost, so any kind of lengthy brother separation like the one we're going to see pretty soon is a little bit upsetting to me. I'm sure that once that conflict is resolved the payoff will all have been worth it, though. Or at least I'm hoping.

    Some scenes were lovely like Cas, some were funny like Dean winging out on research and Crowley and Abbadon and some were intensely mysterious like Crowley injecting himself.
