The moment when Finch tells Reese that he's dying, but that he saves people… it's what they do, and Reese gives in. Great echo of Carter's conversation with Reese over the radio in season one, where she tells him that she will find him somewhere either dead or bleeding out. Reese is bleeding out, but he allows Finch to save him, thus closing the circle. Carter is Reese's redemption.
That was awesome, and I guess you could consider it as separate from Reese having a chat with Quinn, but I just viewed that entire sequence as one [expletive deleted] amazing scene.
Sooooooo hard to choose! And several other possibilities from this episode could have been included, too--what a great slam-bang, start to finish excellent episode! I the first three minutes, I thought I'd already seen my obvious candidate for this poll. Then the rest of the episode came along. . . . Holy cow.
At first I thought it would have been fitting for Fusco to kill Simmons but I prefer what happened. It kinda had to be Elias. The story Fusco told about "the devil's share" was about one evil destroying another but Fusco had left his past and became good again, so he couldn't be the killer.
Voted for half of the options, but if I had to pick one I'd choose the scene where Reese goes against the team of Marshals. That was so cool. And Reese's ''I'm not going to threaten to kill you'' is probably my favorite of the entire show! Honorable mention goes to the therapy sessions. Each of them was very revealing and thought provoking. Finch asking if survivor's guilt goes away when you're actually responsible, Shaw discussing the difference between fixing and healing (Elias again used the word ''fixing'' to describe his act), Reese killing his therapist (hehe), Fusco revealing his darker ''Dexter'' side before showing he has changed... This episode was just perfect.
My favorite scene might be the lightest of the whole episode, when Root is shooting at the Russian coming to the motel and Shaw says "That was hot" ... Indeed, seeing Root in this action scene was definitely hot ^^ But the whole episode was great, overwhelming feelings at the beginning with Johnny Cash, the rest of the episode was really intense, I loved it :) PoI is definitely THE TV show to see nowadays ^^
I have loathed her. From the way they forced her intro down our throats, to how they keep shoving her to the forefront of each story (now I know why with Carter gone, such a bad trade off). They've tried building her up into "female Reese" & the show doesn't need 2 Reeses.
I'd be less disgusted if they promoted Root to a regular than Shaw, at least her character brings a different element and doesn't just do the same thing as 1 of the characters but with a female voice.
Except Reese doesn't give in. Finch says to Reese: "You're dying, John. Let us help you." Reese's reply: "No." And then he pulls the trigger three times. Only then does Reese 'give in' as it were, however, it's only because he's out of bullets and out of strength. Reese doesn't allow Finch to save him, he just has nothing left. This is truly interesting as it were because Reese, unlike Fusco, has re-embraced the darkness within him; Fusco turned his back on it completely.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI did rather view them as two separate scenes. Though to be honest, there were so many great moments in that episode it was difficult to pick one.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed Shaw's moments of comic relief. Though it was nice to see her step up 'dramatically' speaking.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Cash was fitting, and all the claps in the world for Elias.
ReplyDeleteFinch talking Reese down and Reese still pulling the trigger anyway.
ReplyDeleteSame! I picked the Fusco one for the speech. I also picked the Elias one because I wanted Simmons dead, I'm glad it was Elias who had it done.

My thoughts exactly. I loved how that played out.
ReplyDeleteEvery moment was breathtaking. ...
ReplyDeleteThe Fusco speech. Heartbreaking.

Johnny Cash intro and everything Root

That opening montage coupled with Johnny Cash singing was just out of this world.
