Megan talking to the Governor while Lily (or was it Tara?) went to get ointment. I loved her asking him about his eye in the way only a child can ask and how he started to really come out of his shell at that point.
ETA: Anyone else get a South Park laugh out of that? Oh it's just Pink Eye.. I have a topical cream for that.
I find that as I watch shows lately, I think about what scenes are likely to make the polls, and what one I'd vote for. Last night, the "Pinky swear" scene was the one sure bet, I thought. Hence, I voted for it.
The ones that were missing: from the group in the prison. they could show a lot of things about the governor if they want, but they don't need to focus only on him.
"Brian" kills zombified Don, while the women watch in horror. Actually, it was the reaction of the women that got to me, and realizing that these women had no idea that you turn when you're dead. They definitely needed to go out more.
The pinky swear - it was such a heartfelt exchange between Brian and Megan. (I don't even play chess that often but I have this urge to get that chess set and just admire the figures, they looked really great.)
When phillip or brian aka the governor whatever dr jeckle calls himself these days is left alone with megan, alot of people hate the governor, i think this show wouldnt survive any longer than this season if not for him and i know im going to piss people off with this but i think this episode (4x06) is the strongest yet in the season i believe the governor was a good man but much like rick we have seen rick go into governor more i mean he's already started abandoning carol out there, going insane for a whole chunk of season 3 searching for his ghost wife walking the tombs relentlessly killing walkers - how can we be so sure ricks the good guy in this - i dont think good bad and wrong exsist no more and the only differance between rick and the governor is is that the governor accepts this yet he like everyone else has there weakness and both of them are family love or someone to just care for...you take those away and they both react extreamlly some mabey more violent than others yet when you see that man (the gov.) sit down and tell that little girl the terrible story that obviously causes him pain he dont react harsh towards her he bites the nerve and tells her the only way you could explain that to a 8yo-ish girl and in turns he's acknowledging his mistakes and you see guilt...yet she's able to break through that and make him laugh...this is very dangerouse folks he know has something else to lose he was no danger to anyone after woodbury now he has found hope and if something threatens that he'll start breathing fire again and in turn could lose them simply cause of that uncontrollable side of himself that comes from only good intentions yet thats the walking dead...in reality how much moral objective would you have??? sorry for the ranting on and on ;)
I voted for the initial sequence of the governor wandering, but this was the type of episode from which singling out a single scene is not doing it justice as it was the whole thing that did it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteGreat scene - they both helped each other fill a void and begin to heal. And the pinky swear was just perfect!
ReplyDeleteYep. It wasn't such an action packed episode and that was SUCH a standout scene it was actually hard for me to pick the others for a change!

ReplyDeleteI know! I think it's really interesting how we are getting alternate survival stories this season.
ReplyDeleteBrace yourself - pretty sure we don't get back to the prison next week either...
