Loved it. Aunt Wendy is my favorite by far.. i hope she manages to stay alive since this is her last life. =/ So glad this was renewed for a 2nd season.
This episode was one of the most exciting ones yet! I didn't read the books, so to me, the origins of the Beauchamp family is such a pleasant surprise. I've not seen that connection done in any other show. Giving them this Asgard background makes them more interesting to me. Although, I don't get why they don't have actual powers, as opposed to Latin incantations, spells, and potions, which seem lame since they're supposed to be "gods".
I loved all the Joanna and Wendy scenes. Their scenes were so illuminating, well-acted, and just generally interesting! I was almost annoyed when they were interrupted by other stuff. But, I suppose that author IS pretty intriguing, and the scenes of Penelope and Freya were also well done.
The show is so much more interesting now! I love finding out these tidbits about Joanna and Wendy's background and past, the whole Asgard angle, the portal, the snake key that opens said portal, etc. I look forward to finding out more about Joanna and Wendy's past, even childhood in Asgard. I hope the show does a good job with Asgard, when/if they ever show any story from there.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Witches of East End gets more intense every week!!! Can't believe Athena/Penelope took Freya's powers... 1 more episode until the season finale!
