I be happy when this all blows up in Dean's face I am getting sick of the lies and tired of it this is really pissing me off right now and I did not enjoy this Ep because of it and it was funny I liked but still I am getting sick and tired of the lying and want it to stop now its getting old and I am getting on giving up on the show again I tried not to on season 8 but come on.
I agree. I must admit that I started paying attention when Dean drank the potion and started speaking to Colonel. It wasn't as horrible as I expected. I guess healing Sam (and others) is really taking its toll on Zeke. He was out for a long time. One question though? Wasn't Sam concerned about all that blood on his neck?
I really liked the episode. They didn't go way over the top and the animal scenes were really funny. For me, there was one glaring problem - how come Sam didn't bring up the fact that his neck is completely wound free? Yes, bring up the fact that the bad guy wondered if you were human or not, but also bring up the fact that your carotid artery was sliced and you lived.
I absolutely loved it! It just goes to show you shouldn't judge an episode before it even airs. I laughed a lot, especially the kennel scene with "Freedom!" and the pigeon scene. Only part I cringed at was the poodle, which I had a feeling I was going to. Overall, it was an awesome episode! :)
So I've noticed we have gotten two fun episodes in a row, and next week's kind of looks in the same direction with Cas getting a job and his little mishaps trying to work the machine. Anybody else have that feeling where we will soon be smashed head-on by a very emotional episode that will leave us to drown in our feels?
I don't think Sam remembers that. It wasn't clear. I think Zeke erased that part. I still don't know why Sam wasn't concerned by all the blood on his neck.
Agree - we really don't know what he remembers, but he should remember all of the blood. There was a ton; the skin on his neck shouldn't look perfect and Sam should be curious about this. Or maybe he knows that Dean is lying now? And he is just waiting to piece together clues?
Ha! OMG, this episode was awesome. Hilarious, with the expected note of ominous right at the end. Damn you show. But this was fun. Jensen rocks the comedy stuff.
Rather bland, mediocre, run-of- the -mill episode.
Too much dialogue and too little action. Sam as usual gets knocked out of the picture because the writers just don't have enough creativity to give both brothers something interesting to do, and to get their acting chops into.
Another dog episode to add to the collection.I have to say Colonel was simpatico though!
At the end we get Dean drawing parallels with the monster being possessed and Sam being possessed.
Won't be long till everything eventually blows up in Dean's face.
Thing is we've been there, done that in earlier seasons, and it was done in a way where we really felt emotionally for the brothers.(not s8 though!)
X
As I said everything is so bland now. Once SPN was like the tastiest lasagna prepared by the best chefs, and now it's like a frozen lasagna fron the corner shop. X
Positives:-it was all about the brothers; no recurring characters; no Kevin, Charlie, Garth, Castiel or douche-bag angels, so I give it a GOOD.
The next two arent really for me, the Cas and Dean show is not what I signed up for. And then oh yes Sam gets to feel like a shitty brother to poor saintly Dean. Well I'm looking forward to part of the season when we get the obligatory half Sam centric episode which he will inevitablyshare with another character. Though I doubt Sam will get to be pissed for 5 minutes for being possessed and lied to, dont want certain sections of the fandom to call him ungrateful and selfish again so its better that he just smile and nod and accept whatever happens to him I hope the writers take note. And off course once Ziek has healed Sam and heads back to his original vessel which we know he eventually does thanks to spoilers maybe they can find Sam some research to do back at the bunker and Jared can spend his time with his kids which is better than being on a show that cant be bothered to write for him. He can keep collecting his pay check and the show can go on as the Dean/Cas/Ziek show.
I feel your pain! Castiel has become the worst, most useless, and most unattractive character on the show, and to pair him up with Dean, cutting Sam out of the picture, is ridiculous.Thank goodness for the FFW button! X
As you say finding intelligent and important stuff for Sam to do seems impossible for these writers, though the writing for Dean is not any better. Truth is these mediocre writers just don't understand the dynamics of the show. They are treating it as if it was a sit-com which it never has been. X
I still can't get my head round the fact that Carver was the one to write those two wonderful and sensitive episodes that were MS and AVSC.He should understand more than anyone the brother dynamics, but obviously he's forgotten what the show's all about:-the Winchester bros and their journey! X
As for Sam/Zeke.
Clearly the writers couldn't kill off Sam so they had to come up with something to keep him alive,- enter Ezikiel.!
I don't blame Dean for doing what he did, it's entirely in character for him; he would do anything to save Sam and keep him by his side and I'm good with that. X
I hope that Sam doesn't get angry, that he understands Dean's decision (not because of the fans though!) but that brings back to mind the hideous way Sam was treated in seaason eight, making him out to be less than Dean because he didn't bother to try and find his brother in Purgatory.
That was and remains for me an unfair slur on Sam's character, considering how in the past he had gone crazy trying to rescue his brother.
whatever happens its pretty much par for the course these days that Sam will come out the bad brother and Dean will come up smelling like roses again. I do believe that they didnt have a storyline for Sam and since they cant kill him off really due to Jared's contract they came up with a rather tedious way of keeping him around without having to actually write for him. I have a feeling Sam fans are going to be left very dissapointed this season even if Jared has done some great work (which he will never get any recognition for lets face it).
this ep was every bit corny and cheesy and just plain goofy but it was so funny. Jensen Ackles comedic performance was brilliant. His facial expressions alone were hilarious. This season is pretty great so far, not that the other seasons were lacking one bit. Glad Sam got the first clue that something is up with himself. And I have to say, the guy that voiced the dog that Sam was rubbing (I can't recall his name; think Leslie from Will & Grace), when I realized it was him, I shouted with joy. I think he is hilarious. Hope we get plenty more funny eps like this.
NO well maybe its a better life in heaven OK!!!! NO WHAT I AM SICK OF IS THE FUCKING LYING AGAIN! I DO HOPE ZEK TURNS OUT TO BE EVIL AND NEVER COMES OUT OF SAM TEACH DEAN A LESSON WHAT DEAD SHOULD STAY DEAD OR HAVE YOU FORGOT SEASON 2! I AM SICK OF IT!
thank you! so right lying suck that's all and I cant wait for the all hell is going to break loose thing but that will never happen because Sam is so forgiving but no one forgive him so who cares anymore right?
I assume Zeke erased the actual cutting/near death moment, but what about the massive amount of blood on Sam's neck? Dean didn't clean it away. What did he say to Sam to pacify him about that? What is going on with Sam? Clearly, all the mortal healing Zeke is doing is taking its toll! The second time Sam got knocked out, he stayed out. Zeke couldn't even be awakened. I do think there is a point to this back-to-back resurrections. As Zeke mentioned last week, they're making him weak, and it's taking longer to heal Sam. So, I wonder what is happening to Sam's body. Is he even being healed at all? Is he getting worse, better, or developing other problems? I hope the show allows Sam to be worried about this. He's been "knocked out" on multiple occasions now. Dean keeps giving him reassurances, but I want to see that Sam is NOT reassured, that he is worried about his physical health and ability to back up Dean in a hunt. Plus, Sam has to wonder why Dean is always saying Sam should take it easy b/c he is recovering from the trials. From Sam's perspective, he must feel fine so maybe Dean knows something he doesn't. I feel like that's what Sam should be thinking at this point.
I want to see Sam in a doctor's office without Dean's knowledge getting a physical (which Zeke would undoubtedly prevent), showing some interest in his health. I want to see Sam worried about himself. It is the only thing that makes sense at this point, IMO. Unfortunately, I think the plot is only focused on Dean right now and how this is affecting him rather than focusing on how BOTH brothers are being impacted by this situation. I'm happy to be wrong about that though. Sadly, I doubt I am.
Well said! It's NOT that I disagree with what Dean did to save Sam it's that some fans are already preemptively giving Sam the same old crap about being the "selfish brother" if Sam gets mad at Dean for more than 5 seconds.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
The pigeon reminded me of the Good Feathers from Animaniacs.

Loved the ep. "We were really put here to woof woof " I'm enjoying the show and having a really good time watching this season.
ReplyDeleteLiked the monster. Oh, and something I forgot to mention when we first saw it was the tattered wing effect.
First, the Wizard of oz and now Dr. Doolittle? Jumping the Shark?
