  1. God, I missed this show and that episode didn't disappoint. Oh God at Abbie being so worried about Ichabod and the hug and l;aksdjfklasjdf.

I loved John Noble too! He was pretty awesome and I'm excited for more of him.

  2. So glad Sleepy Hollow is back! This episode did not disappoint.John Nobel was as awesome as he always! Can't wait to find out more about him. more later

  3. Awesome episode! So glad this show is back.

John Noble was fantastic as Henry Parrish/Sin Eater. You can tell he had a lot of fun playing the role. Can't wait to see more of him in the future. The Abbie/Ichabod scene was absolutely incredible. I lost it when Ichabod said that he is most grateful for having known Abbie and the hand holding because Ichabod is terrified!! Also, can Jenny keep on staying along for the ride? She is hilarious and one of my favorite characters on the show now.

This episode is definitely going to get a rewatch from me. Simply brilliant.

  4. Loved it! I missed this show!! I needed my tall dark and British back!! Glad to say they cut the opening credits. lol Again loved the baseball scene. I really Liked Abbie taking charge and finding Crane with Jenny. Sin Eater was awesome, I was getting mad at him for a minute, like get off ur ass and help Abbie! I mean ok i knew he would, but the anger was still there. (I just call that good tv) Loved the flashback scenes, guess that explains why Katrina wasn't fond of Ichabod when they first met. But seriously IS THAT ALL?? That's it? I would've thought there'd be more than that, On why she didn't like him that much. Gotta say i didn't care for the "Love at first sight, we were meant to be" meeting between them, but w/e. Shurgs. Do i have to say it?? I don't but i will anyway, LOVED ICHABBIE saying "Goodbye" I mean i wasn't fangirling, but my eyes were glued! I felt so bad for her especially after the speech she gave Jenny before they went to find him. And I LOVED that he called ABBIE!! When he said that, i stopped breathing, then i took a breath, and said "He called her Abbie" Then she said it right away. (Thank you writers for throwing that in there). And then he said it again to the Sin Eater, it was adorable. And the hug they had! Aww, i said hug her again!! lol And Jenny just stood by and watched. She kinda annoyed me when she was asking if Abbie was important to him. Um obviously? Then with the "you really care about this guy? Another obvious. (I'm just saying) I really hope Jenny isn't one of THOSE sisters that's all oh my sister likes him, so i'm gonna show interest in him, just so she won't be happy or their bond can be ruined types. (Rolls eyes) I will SURELY dislike Jenny for that. Anyways back to what i was saying about Ichabbie's scene..I think it's safe to safe, they are OFFICIALLY friends now. Which i love (i can wait on the romance) But was i the only one waiting or Abbie to call him Ichabod? lol I wanted that. Ok so Sin eater came at the last minute, (btw loved the dead guy coming back to clear Ichabod's guilt, thought that was really nice, loved their talk, sorry idr his name) BUT it did kind of end on a cliffhanger which i'm relieved about. I mean the "day was saved" but not really. So i'm looking forward to next week. I think we'll see Katrina, based on the promo when Ichabod says "omg" and the way his eyes are widened. They did say they needed a witch, so my thought was automatically her. That would be interesting to see, her coming back (i guess haha).

  6. Awesome episode. Can't wait until next Monday. Great cast and the guest cast tonight was top notch. Did anyone recognize the actor who played Glabber in Spartacus on Starz?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I never watched Spartacus but are you talking about the main brother that was questioning Ichabod?

Is it awful to say that sole reason to watch this show is Katrina Crane? I mean the lore is fascinating and etc(even if a bit preachy on religious side), but out of characters she literally is only one to truly stand out. Kind of wish we got more of her being this awesome and less of her damsel-in-distress scenes. Katia Winter being absolutely stunningly beautiful and captivating also is a plus.

On other fronts, John Noble was awesome. Not sure I trust him OR freemasons yet, because hey, its Sleepy Hollow - I fully expect betrayals and shifting loyalties as fitting the contemporary fantasy in style of Hex. Nevertheless can't wait to see more of John Noble in this. His character is quite intriguing and I can't quite place him yet.

The downside to this episode I feel is that it spent way too much time running around as fill-in - flashbacks were great and one-to-one character conversations were good, but everything else(abbie running around) felt more like a fill-in to stretch it out into an episode, so they can end it on the cliffhanger. Well, at least the cliffhanger was awesome, so that's sort-of forgiven.

    4/5

  9. Hi Shannon. The actor I'm referring to was the guy who was the superior officer that turned into a demon in front of Ichabod. The main brother that was questioning our hottie ( lol) tonight played a vampire on True Blood.

    ReplyDelete
  10. So it WAS Craig Parker!? I thought it looked like him but at the same time I wasn't sure if it was! I loved him in Legend of the Seeker so it's great to see him in other work (other than Spartacus; I've never seen it)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ohhh that guy? Nope don't know him. And yeah if you were referring to the guy i asked you about i was gonna say, i only knew him as Franklin from TB. lol

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yes you have it right! His name is Craig Parker. He was Glaber. Thanks :-)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Honestly, I felt the episode was a bit slow. It lacked the usual humor from Ichabod and really did not have any action either. The exposition was interesting, but not interesting enough to carry the episode for me.

I did enjoy the guest stars this week. However, James Frain and John Noble could do those roles in their sleep. I would really enjoy seeing both actors do something different from their usual typecast roles, but in the meantime, they were great as one would expect.

This felt like like a transition episode to me. It introduced new players and plot points that should come into play and pay off later in the season. Frain should make a fun adversary for Crane and the Sin-Eater could be a good ally.

This episode was borderline "Great" to "Good" for me, but something lacked. Plus if incredible guest stars like Frain and Noble cannot supply an "Awesome" episode it is a sad ting indeed. Therefore I rate just "Good" in the end.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah..that was him. Franklin stalked Tara and held her prisoner in TB. He was the Mason brother. A lot of talented actors are on this series. Clancy Brown was killed off immediately unfortunately but it was cool to have him on. What we need is a comedian on next.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yup, that was Franklin, i remember everything from that show. We already have a comedian on the show. lol

    ReplyDelete
  16. That's right Orlando Jones. He was funny in "The Replacements".

    ReplyDelete
  17. Loved him in MADtv, Double take, Bedazzled, The Replacements, Say It isn't So and Evolution. Very funny guy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. fantastic ep to bring back this awesome show! Loved the further backstory on IC and the situations that led to his choice to be a "witness", and adding a layer by bringing in the freemason order... and of course the return of the always fantastic John Noble to my tv screen was the icing on this supernatural cake!

    ReplyDelete
  19. yeah, I almost forgot that he was Glabber, I always remember him as Haldir, the captain of the Elf archers in the Lord of the Rings, the Two Towers..... lol

    ReplyDelete
  20. He was also the villain in Legend of the Seeker. 4 A RIDE THAT WILL LEAVE YOU HEADLESS, I am Nobody!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Gotta say I'll be freaking livid if the credits are gone for good, I loved them. Anyway, good episode I enjoyed the flashbacks, Katrina is now awesome to me.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Awesome episode. John Noble rocked. Good to see James Frain as well and shapeshifters (at least mentioned) and even some of Henry's line were Fringy. Now the battle begins.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Craig Parker as the Demon/Commander and John Noble as the Sin - Eater........nothing can keep great actors off screen for long! The mystery that is Katrina revealed is good, but more! Abbie and Ichabod's scenes are near flawless. Their chemistry and timing on screen are uncanny in just 6 episodes! Jenny and Orlando Jordan are BONUS! No more breaks. More of this show, more, more, and more! For series that works around mystery and suspense, there is that touch of horror ie: the Horseman chasing Abbie through the house in the dream was the scariest scene since the Sandman was about to turn Crane's head into sand. Can't wait for next Monday. 4 SLEEPYHEADS ACROSS THE LAND, I will be Nobody!!!

Holy bedazzled Jesus, I FLATLINED!! Danke.. Sehr Romantisch!

  26. Poor pacing and clunky plotting.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If by "truly stand out" you mean that she is absolutely stunningly beautiful, I would agree.

But, in my opinion, her performance is anything but captivating or stunning. Her delivery of lines is one note and cold, she barely shows any emotion other than... I don't know - anger? That compared to Mison and Beharies nuanced and layered performances. And she has absolutely no chemistry with Ichabod... I'm honestly not sure what show you're watching.

So if you ask me, yeah, it is awful, because if you're watching for Katrina - you're watching a show that's dry as bread. That's just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wish they didnt feel they have to wrap things up in 1 episode. Thats the number one problem with this series

    ReplyDelete
  29. In an interview Tom Mison (Ichabod) said that there will be a lot more serialization for the remainder of the season!

Discussing last night's episode leading to the rest of the season:

"That starts shifting us away from the episodic structure of the first half of the season and then gets into a really strong, clear single story, which plows through to the very end. And the season finale, I mean, it killed me when he was telling me about that."

    Source: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/11/04/sleepy-hollow-tom-mison-ichabod-crane/

I'm hoping that pulls me in because I am losing interest the last few episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  30. In the article I linked above Tom Mison says this...

"Well, you’re going to start seeing a lot more of Katrina, and a lot more of their relationship in the past. And you’ll kind of understand why their relationship is so strong."

So you will see a lot more of Katrina!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have to agree. While Katia Winter is beautiful, that doesn't do much in terms of performance value. She's very stale and one note. I'm not sure I'll be able to handle watching her dry delivery if she becomes a more prominent character. It's like the wife on Grimm all over again.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Prepare yourself then...
Katina will have a larger role moving forward according to an interview on EW I linked below.

    ReplyDelete
  33. John Noble stole all the spotlight coming into this episode makng it a surprise to see James Frain appear! I guess he really did die on Grimm in that out of nowhere car explosion, unless he'll be in two bit parts at once!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hopefully she will grow on me because, like you said, the exposition is top notch... it's just the performance that's kind of dampening it for me.

I'm certainly not averse to being surprised though. Fingers crossed for the future.

  35. Good episode. Made me miss Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  36. LOVE!!!

Obviously it was GREAT to see John Noble, but I would have been so irritated with how they left things, if I wouldn't have known he is coming back next season. I think 'the sin eater' mythology is interesting and I wonder if he gains knowledge and more abilities/connections by eating other people's sins? (Like is the Horseman going to go after him? Is he connected to the horseman?)

It was also cool to see James Frain! Liked how we're getting more into Masonry aspects. I also like the back story about how Katrina meets Ichabod and how he had to wrestle with his beliefs/ethics and how that paralleled Mr. Parish and Abbie. This one felt special. :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. "o i'm looking forward to next week. I think we'll see Katrina, based on the promo when Ichabod says "omg" and the way his eyes are widened. They did say they needed a witch, so my thought was automatically her. That would be interesting to see, her coming back (i guess haha)."

I wondered about that too. I mean Katrina seems like the obvious choice, but I'm actually wondering if she'll need a vessel, or if it will rely on someone who's currently alive (corporeal)??? I wondered if maybe Abbie will have to perform the spell through Katrina or something, because it would add another level to the love triangle aspect, as Katrina is also starting to reach out to Abbie and prepare her for her role.....

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah James Frain is a terrific actor. I enjoyed him on The White Queen as well, but it's interesting, because he doesn't seem so villainous yet!

Trivia: he also guessed stared on two episodes of Fringe as Mr. Kohl in the episodes "Safe" and "Ability"...

    ReplyDelete
  39. I find Katrina a really interesting character simply because she's mysteriously enigmatic, but I would agree it's hard to "love" someone we don't really know yet. I don't find her cold, as much as direct and Ominous, but this episode I did think shed more light on a more personal side of whom she was/is in that she has deep sense of justice, but I'm curious to explore if her duty and love of Ichabod are one in the same or of she believes in one a little more than the other...

    ReplyDelete
  40. I could tell mostly due to the cliffhanger that this was going to be the case, but I also could feel the change with the exposition/execution in this episode into launching an actual arc. It felt very different from most previous episodes to me and my first thought was, "Are we getting more serialized now?"

But thanks for the link, I had not read that article yet! XD I hope for our sakes that this happening, because it just makes everything so much better if you feel like your watching something that's actually building towards something.

I know from your other comments that you missed the humor and the action in this one and I agree about using Abbie and Jen to stretch it out, but I did like how reflective (or perhaps eventually L'll say absorbing??) John Noble's Henry Parish was to so many of the other characters...We can finally see The Abbie in Ichabod from this epsiode.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Maybe. If they needed a Vessel and Abbie was picked. Now THAT would be very interesting. I like it! Seeing how i just saw the title for ep. 8 i'm going to take back my theory and run with yours. I like the "GHOST" reference. And it does fit with Ichabod's "OMG". I think Katrina would probably show in ep 8, IF not in the next episode.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I never watched either one. Wasn't into fringe, never sucked me in. (runs and hides for cover).

    ReplyDelete
  43. I never would have made that connection if you hadn't mentioned it! That guy looks NOTHING like Haldir. :p

    ReplyDelete
  44. No need to hide! Fringe fans tend to be a really nice lot. ;) (and of course we all can like different things!)

  46. Crane is "yet to go through serious emotional story arcs"??!?!??! You typed that AFTER watching last night's episode? Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You thought last night's episode "wrapped things up?" Seriously? I thought it did the exact opposite. I thought it set an enormous boulder rolling down a hill. Hang on!

    ReplyDelete
  48. There's actually a nice fanbase?? LOL When did that happen? lol I've never heard or been a part of such a thing. Hahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  49. I never thought I would say that but: Gosh, how cute was when Ichabod called her Abbie? I ship them so hard I'm almost disappointed in myself. And how I've missed John Noble...

    ReplyDelete
  50. InvestedInYourFuture5 November 2013 at 20:53

The problem with his current emotional arc is that its essentially identical to the show story plot. So its less about what and how he feels and more about what is happening around him. Apart that 5 second phone call, there's no introspection in it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I have had pretty good experiences with other Fringe fans, but maybe I was just lucky or only met the nice ones!!! XD

    ReplyDelete
  52. I know! I haven't rewatched it since the finale aired, but I'm thinking about squeezing it in.

    ReplyDelete
  53. lmao! I'll accept that. I think you were lucky. = )

    ReplyDelete
  54. Phone call? What episode are you talking about? Crane's never touched a phone.

You don't think it takes introspection to reach the conclusion that you have to sacrifice your own life for the greater good? You don't think it takes a modicum of introspection to confess your sin and seek absolution for it? Seriously?

And when you've been dead for 250 years and suddenly wake up, how on earth do you separate what is happening around you from how you feel? How you feel has to be completely intertwined with what is happening around you. Yours is nonsense talk.

    ReplyDelete
  55. What i found interesting was that charmed continues to live even beyond the tv grave yard lol

    ReplyDelete
  56. Late reply is late, but you should! I try to squeeze in a couple of episode a week too!
