    Well that was one of the most surprising twists I've seen on a show in awhile. Really liked it ever if it was a bit ridiculous, especially since this show loves to have a crazy extended family stuff.

    OMG!!!
    First thing that needs to be stated is that Henry is as stupid as stupid can get. It was a good episode but as klutzy_girl already said why does everyone have to be related to each other. However, I am more curious about the Shadow and what is his background and priorities are. If only Cora had still been around her, Regina and Rumple could take down Peter Pan. I am also upset that we have to wait two weeks for the next episode.

    Okay, I don't normally 'talk' to my TV but I actually couldn't believe what I was seeing! That was a major twist, I truly didn't see that coming! That was…amazing!

    In defense of Henry: he's just a kid. Kids tend to not trust even their parents over the words of anyone who has a strong influence over them. Believe me, even I know - from experience. Yes, it was foolish of Henry to trust Pan, but he's still a kid. They're very naive and too trusting in many ways.


    Rumple's backstory: I bawled my eyes out. Pretty much made me go, "NOW I completely understand why Rumple is Rumple!!! &%$#@ YOU PAN! What kind of father sells out his son for youth?! :-O :-( He clearly still cares for Rumple, though. I sense other redemptive arc coming through...that is, if Peter Pan lasts past this half of the season?? Or lives?? lol.


    That is all. Now I have to bang my head against the wall in despair. WHY TWO WEEKS?!?!?!?! WHHHYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :'-( lol :-P

    Great episode.


    Its kind of hilarious on how Nealfire's life mirrors Rumple's.

    And also another Snowing/Captain Swan parallel with the "We need to talk!". It HAS got to be intentional by this point.



    if there was ANY negatives for this episode its that Pan's masterplan essentially is exact same thing half the villains in this show have been striving for. Its a bit underwhelming considering we had COra doing exact same thing before, however Pan's backstory more than makes up for it


    Otherwise I guess my predictions were indeed correct and the shadow will be the next villain on the show, going by OUAT writers taking inspiration from Fables.

    I still think Cora's plan had more heart (oh the irony) than Pan's plan. At the moment, Pan is more selfish and I really want to punch him in his face and tell him to grow up and take responsibility for him and his child. Cora's mission came from a place of in my opinion (and to a very fine extent) somewhat rightful revenge and even though she was heartless she took responsibility and she tried to provide the best (although very strict) for her daughter. And until I see further back story about Pan, he will remain to be seen by me as arrogant, immature and needs to be sent to a good boarding/military school with Cora has his teacher and Miss Trunchbull as the headmistress.

    In poor little Henry's defense, I don't think some of you guys are actually seeing what Adam & Eddy are trying to make you see about that storyline. Since day one Henry has never wanted anything more than to be the hero. To be the one to save the day. Pan knows a great deal about everything & everyone, so I think that Pan has that knowledge of Henry, and is using it against him. I think that Pan realized that Henry didn't really want to help him "save magic" when it was just about the magic, which is why he dragged Wendy into his lie. He knew that Henry wouldn't be able to resist saving Wendy, even if his parents were there telling him that it was all a lie. That's what kids do. You tell them not to do something, or that something is bad, and they want to do it that much more. I don't think Henry was doing it to defy his parents, I think he did it because he wanted to do whatever it took to be the hero. He wanted to believe that Pan wasn't lying to him.

    Wow. Henry is so stupid - which is weird because he was the one smart character who saw through all the BS in season one - so it's a total character flip flop. I mean I get his entire desire to be a hero but it doesn't really make sense that he would fall for Pan's story & abandon his family since up until now his entire character has been about keeping his family together, etc. He's the one that's been standing up for Regina & continuing to love her, despite knowing that she was the evil Queen. Plus, he constantly saw through all the evil Queen's much stronger lies/magic/spell which he grew up with - yet a few weeks with Pan & he falls for everything Pan says? It just doesn't make sense.

    Oddly, I jokingly predicted Pan = Rumpel's dad & my sister was all "yeah right like that would ever happen"...and then it actually happened. Lol. Still, I really enjoyed the twist though and I was actually surprised that they went there (again).

    Wendy & Baelfire's interaction was icky, I dunno why; I want them not to have scenes together anymore. They really creeped me out. The actors playing them have like...anti-chemistry or something & it makes me want to change the channel.


    Loved young!Rumple. & Old!Rumple. Just loved Rumple in all his forms. Same with Regina she is so snarky and awesome. I wish we would've had more Regina & less time wasted on Hook/Charmings/Tink/Wendy side-stories.

    I would agree with this except for the fact that the entire first season can be summed up as Henry Believing in Emma. He believed that she could save Storybrooke (to the point of annoyance) but doesn't believe in her here? That seems a little out of character.

    What a way of rape and tear the story of JM Barrie who must be dying again in his f*cking grave. And no, I don't mean the fact that he is the father of Rumple , this was kind of obvious since earlier in the season (" family reunion", make the breakfast, bla bla) back then everything pointed that they were brothers, whatever .... HOW ORIGINAL writers, yes sir , what a familiar tree we got here. But the fact is that if they would do well, it would have been cool an adult Peter Pan who never wanted to grow up, because that is the true spirit of the character, "The boy who would not grow up", cool idea. I could care less who is the father of Rumple , this series has us very used to relate everyone with everyone.

    The moment I was dreading of, all these weeks has come, DING DONG, bullet straight to my geek heart. Peter Pan is not possessed , nor is captive while another who calls himself Peter Pan takes his place , no no no... He is the real Peter Pan, the child who kidnapped his own grandson and great-grandson, the child who abandoned her own child, the child who tried to kill the family of his son and killed other people , the child who held captive Wendy for nearly 100 years ... The child... Is .. Peter Pan!? Redemption? Peter Pan does not deserve redemption because they doesn't need it, because Peter Pan has never been evil , and this version is a f*cking bastard. Since the season two finale I was hoping an explanation, a corrupted Peter Pan for some reason, but he is evil for what? Never want to grow up? Immortality?

    Where is the spoiled and lovely child that we all know and love? Sorry JM Barrie, the four walls of your coffin must be very uncomfortable now .

    I left The Walking Dead by outrage to see dear characters of the comic being bad adapted (Andrea's first), and now the same thing is happening here with OUAT. Fool of me that I keep watching fiction based on characters that I love with all my being.

    I will wait for upcoming episodes to see what happen.

    i so know that pan is rumples dad. i had that feeling from the scene theyve met when bea was dancing around with those other kids and rumple hadnt said his name, butpan said called the dark one rumple. actually i now want everybody on that island to kill that bastard who murdered his own blood to save his ass...he is really a coward just like rumple said

    Only just a good ep for me tonight.... as much as I liked the backstory of young Rumple and his ne'er do well father, it was fairly obvious that Pan was his father when Rumple said, "Pan destroyed his father"... I know it was to get viewers caught up with Neverland lore, but his father knowing how everything worked in Neverland (as well as using the bean to get there) just felt too contrived for me - but it fit that in order to reap the benefits of Neverland, his father would have to be "destroyed".... the weakest parts of the ep were: Henry is a "truest believing gullible idiot".. and his character hasn't been written well at all this arc, first he's suspicious of Pan and everything, and then falls for everything, despite him knowing that his family were there and coming to rescue him... just bad writing.. now Henry wants to stay in NL, just because "heroes sometimes have to make a sacrifice"... really??? the other weak parts of the ep were the acting of young Rumple with a accent just just didn't match older Rumple to me, and his father's acting was weak to me as well...

    Okay, here's my problem with the climax of tonight's episode. Having Henry believe Peter Pan over his mother and father just didn't work. If it had been Regina on her own maybe. But they didn't lay the ground work to make me believe Henry would take Pan's word over Emma or Neal's. The entire series that kid has had faith in his family. It blew the whole episode for me.

    I really hate Peter Pan. I mean, he was never someone to root for, but I thought he'dd have some really good reason for everything he's doing. Turns out he just wants to live forever, and doesn't care about killing his family to get there. Loved the episode, didn't see this coming

    No, I totally agree. I feel like it's the exact same reveal we've seen many times. Surprise! The Queen of Hearts is actually Cora! Surprise! Rumple's son is also Neal! I know the show was premised on surprise parents but by season 3 they need to branch out a bit.

    I actually think that one would have been a 10000x more interesting than Neal being Henry's father/Bae or Peter Pan being Rumple's father. Because then they could have actually had a storyline with Rumple where he destroyed his daughter to get back to his son.

    Wow, Pan being Rumple's father is one of the greatest twists of all time. It's gives a whole new meaning to Neverland. Pan was never in charge, it has always been the Shadow.

    I have tried really really really to like Henry, BUT HE WAS SERIOSULY THE STUPIDEST KID EVER IN THIS EPISODE. How could he believe Pan!!!!!!! And the one time he should have followed Pan, and spied on him and Rumple, he didn't! Words cannot express how idiotic this child is. I have the utmost respect for Jared Gilmore (especially cause he has to act out all this idiocy), but sorry Henry, you are dead to me.

    Another family relationship added. Woww. Overall the episode was okay :) Emma doing the backflip was pretty awesome, haha. The Wendy and Bae/Neal reunion was also nice. But seriously, how long did Henry actually stay waiting for Pan though. Surely he thought SOMETHING was wrong, or at least that Pan was taking too long.
    I think the whole Regina/Emma magically making an eclipse was overlooked, because man.. That's one strong spell, and it wasn't even really touched upon much :/ And I thought it was awesome!
    But I have a question, why didn't Emma, Regina, Neal and Rumpel take Wendy with them, as proof to Henry that Pan is lying - or is it because she's 'resting' or they didn't want her in harms way :/.

    Peter Pan, even in original book is quite evil and mischievous Let's also not forget that the book ends with him outright murdering Hook and taking over his ship.


    So no, unless we count cheap movies, Pan never was a "good guy". .

    I enjoyed this episode. It was exciting, and lots of interesting things happened. I loved how they told the story, and did the reveal, of who Peter Pan really was. I liked how the writers managed to fit in some character moments, for the main group, during this eventful episode too. I'm so looking forward to the next episode! This Neverland adventure is giving a pretty good payoff for this story arc imo.

    Hook is the villain in the story, so yeah, villain in fairytales tend to die by the hero, yes.

    Did anybody else groan a little when Pan used PANdora's box?
    I was bummed that Henry would believe Pan over Neal, Emma, and Regina. I mean, I knew that's what was going to happen, but I don't feel like we saw enough of his side of the story to believe that he was so easily turned to Pan's side - particularly after seeing his moms in the mirror and saying he knew they were coming to rescue him. If he's the Truest Believer, he sure is fickle in his beliefs!

    Wow wow wow. Best episode of the season BY FAR and, to be honest, there are very few episodes I remember enjoying more overall. Maybe the season 1 finale and a couple of others but that's about it. Top 3 my favorite episodes of the series.I never saw the twist of Pan being his father coming. My mouth was literally open looking at the screen for some seconds! It was amazing. I also loved how everyone came together, how Pan could overpower Rumple, how Rumple was able to decide to fight for his family, how Emma and Regina were able to join forces for magic and the end with Henry was very dramatic. I really didn't know up until the end what he would do. I thought it was believable enough, I don't think it was too contrived. I am over the moon with the episode, it really brought the show its groove back. So glad. So annoying that it had to endure a series low while airing one of the best episodes in a long time. Freaking ABC

    The whole premise of the show is to tell fairy tale stories with a twist. In this case, the boy who never wanted to grow up was an adult man who gave up his family to become young again. He decided everything was worth sacrificing for eternal youth. This show was never an adaptation of classic fairy tale stories. They took the main themes and characteristics of the fairy tale characters/stories, gave them all a different spin and then mixed them all together.

Last year there were also some issues with everyone repeatedly lying to Henry, even Emma lying to him about Neal being dead. There is also the whole Wendy thing and the fact that Henry grew up wanting to be a hero. Most of all though, I don't think it's even a matter of not believing them - it's a matter of him believing that they were wrong. I don't think he thought they were purposely lying to him, just that he thought he knew better.

    I actually don't mind that we have a pure villain on the show. I love how shows like Lost and OUAT are able to humanize villains (Regina, Rumple) but sometimes people are just bad, period. I like that they are not going for a sob story with Pan.

    I disagree. I think Henry's decision was very much in line with the fact that he grew up wanting to be a hero and that Pan has been manipulating him very well all this time. The Wendy thing probably sealed the deal though. For me, it was never about him not believing his family, it was simply about him thinking they were wrong. I don't imagine that he ever thought they were intentionally lying to him.

    I think the difference is that Cora at least came from a situation in which she was good and simply made a series of bad choices that led her to be who she was. Pan was pure evil and motivated by selfish reasons. With Cora, they humanized her. Pan... just pure evil. I like it.

    I don't agree. Henry always wanted to be a hero and save everyone. He grew up wishing that. In the first season, that was what he was trying to do here. Here, that's what he was trying to do. The situations are the same. You can also add that in season 1 nobody believed him and he was right; here, nobody believed him again, but he thought he was right again. The situations are exactly the same, just that one time he was right and the other he wasn't.

    Well, it wasn't my first guess at all and I only saw one other person guessing it on these boards before. I thought it was well written and that it made sense. Much better than Neal is Henry's dad and Rumple's son last year.

    I don't particularly mind a random one week break in the middle of the fall, I don't think it makes a serious difference. It's better to have the awards airing on ABC and the shows breaking then the awards airing elsewhere and ABC having them go against it.

    I think that Pan being Rumple's dad actually made a lot of sense here. I think the only reason we feel that way is because they did the lame twist of Neal being both Henry's dad and Rumple's son last year. That's basically the only other family twist the show did so far. And that was a poor one that the entire fandom knew it was coming and they should have avoided. This one adds new dimensions to Rumple, Pan, Henry and the whole Neverland arc, not to mention the Neal/Rumple story. I thought it was amazing.


    As for Henry, I think you are too harsh. Two points:
    1) I don't think Henry thought his family was lying to him. He just thought they were mistaken and that he knew better.
    2) Henry always wanted to be a hero and grew up thinking about this fairytale land. In Season 1, nobody believed him and he was right and did save everyone. Here, nobody believed him again and he had indications that he was going to save everyone (the Wendy thing was pretty strong IMO) - why wouldn't he think, again, that everyone was again wrong and he was right?

    Yeah I was haha, I was really bugged with him! I understand his actions are necessary for the plot, but still I would have liked that he'd have a little more faith in his parents. Though I suppose at this point, it was not a question of faith, but really his hero complex kicking in. So while his actions are admirable, it was stupid. I don't really care in the long run, stuff like this keeps the show exciting :D All I what from OUAT is a Happy Ending when the show's over.

    I don't find it annoying at all. And I think people are exaggerating a bit with this, it was only the 2nd family twist on the show. Granted, both were pretty big ones, but it's not like they have familiar connections showing up left and right.

    "throughout the season" - remember, only about a week has actually gone by in their time. Yes, there have been trust issues with the adults, but we're talking about one day wanting to go home with his family and believing they will rescue him and the next day suddenly trusting Pan to the point of ripping out his own heart. It just didn't come off as realistic to me.

    I don't think Henry boils down that simply to just wanting to be a hero though. He also really wants to reunite his family (including Emma and Neal) and wants everyone to have their Happy Ending (Snow and Charming in S1). This just felt like any character development he had, of which there was very little to begin with, was ignored. Maybe if the show had done a better of job of illustrating the supposed stakes of saving magic besides Pan telling Henry that Wendy will die and showing him the hourglass, Henry's actions would have been more believable (no pun intended).

    I think you make a good point that the was some points establishes last season that could have been used to help Pan divert Henry's belief from his family to him (Pan). But they did not do that during the telling of this story. Because Henry moved past those issues in the earlier story they needed to redress them this season. They didn't.

    What this story needed, to get me to believe Henry's decision, was for Peter Pan to go full court press into a campaign of psychological manipulation. We needed to see Henry coming to believe in Pan more than his family. What I got was a couple of conversations where Pan *told* Henry his family wasn't coming (mostly because they *could* not) He should have been convincing Henry they didn't *want* to come. Forcing Henry to fight another lost boy did nothing to accomplish that task. If the Wendy stunt had been a direct reaction to the mirror contact...it would have been more powerful.

    That said. If Henry had just told them that he had to do this to save Wendy (especially since the idiots didn't bring Wendy with them as proof of Pan's lies) I would have believed the action.
