I know i'm gonna get heat for this but I feel like it needs to be said. STOP IT. Just stop. Cote is gone. She is not coming back. Time to move on & get over it. 1 person doesn't make or break a show. It revolves around EVERYONE. NCIS survived when they killed off Kate, It survived when they killed Jenny & it'll survive without Cote. Yes I know the show wasn't NEARLY as popular up until later seasons but I mean seriously, come on. Yeah I loved Cote & the character Ziva but it got tiresome after season 6 with her & Tony with the will they/won't they crap. Maybe i'm just being a jerk but honestly I don't mind at all she's gone. It brings a new dynamic to the show & shakes things up a bit. I have been a die-hard fan of NCIS ever since it premiered in Sept. of 2003. This stuff happens all the time with actors. The show still works. I just wish people would quit beating a dead horse over the whole Ziva thing. It's done & it's over. Time to move on. Ok i'm done ranting now. Time for the trolls/Tiva fans to start rolling in....
Agreed. I love NCIS as much as the next fan but seriously some of these fans think the sky is falling & the show is doomed because a character off the show. It'll still be a great show.
I really like that McGee's character is being written as a bit more seasoned, and he's getting some respect. I love comedy elements as much as any: Tony's awesome rants, constant movie references, Ziva's struggles with English colloquialisms, McGee's tech-geek speak, Abby -- well, just about anything! But I really like that this season we've seen McGee in a combat zone standing strong with Gibbs and in true NCIS/hero fashion as well as here where he earned the respect of 'Lead' on the case. At first I found it annoying that he kept insisting on these spreadsheets and algorithms, but then I realized that he usually did stuff like that, he just didn't speak so bluntly about them, as in: We should make a spreadsheet. And then, in the end, his contact spreadsheet led them to the final clue. The writers need to set the team in this different dynamic, so that when Bishop is introduced, the team is in a different place, she's the newcomer, not putting McGee back at the bottom again. Anyway, I'm liking the season a lot.
Stop what? I'm far from a Tiva fan though I will admit to being a fan of Ziva. She was on the show for 8 years and was a main character. Minimizing her importance by comparing her to Kate, Jenny and Lee (yes, ppl do make that comparison) is a disservice to the character, the actor and to the writers. Do I think the show's ratings will suffer without Ziva? No. NCIS has a longstanding fanbase and that won't go anywhere unless Mark Harmon himself decides to quit. Most fans, including me, are upset at the blatant 'Ziva's Farewell' hype only amounted to about 10 minutes of actual screen time for Cote and at how her situation was handled. I've been a fan of the show since the beginning too and I don't tune in for the plot or the patriotic and obviously contrived storylines. I don't think NCIS has ever been a 'great show'. You can usually guess the perp within the first 5 minutes, the writing is sloppy and the plot contrived. I tune in for the characters and Ziva was one of the most complex characters on television in years (since maybe Gibbs), be it male or female. The S6 character assassination and the unending will they/won't they Tiva nonsense aside, she added a certain je nais se quoi to the team dynamic that is sorely missed. Of course the show will recover and of course the new characters bring a new dynamic to the show. I don't begrudge the fans their angst. Just as you are entitled to your opinions so are others. This is the internet after all. No one has a monopoly on feelz. :P
you know, i think he just want him to grow up, i still remember when Ziva when back to Israel, when Tony killed that man in her house, Gibbs told her to come back and she said to him to choose her or Tony, he loves Tony
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteAgreed. I love NCIS as much as the next fan but seriously some of these fans think the sky is falling & the show is doomed because a character off the show. It'll still be a great show.

ReplyDeleteCote de Pablo left on her own accord. CBS offered her a boatload of money. She walked away. Plain and simple. Get over it.
ReplyDeletei think that sometimes Gibbs don´t respect to Tony... i don´t like the way in that Gibbs treat him...
ReplyDeleteOf course i cried! how can i not?
