Well, this was BRILLIANT. Easily the best episode of this show yet.
- They are clearly building up to the SHIELD we see in Winter Soldier trailer - Coulson's fantasies about it(or is it programming? Considering "Trust The System" phrase he kept repeating) most likely will keep falling apart. - I am 100% convinced that Skye is Jessica Drew now. Missing parents, involvement with badguys for some time, working in SHIELD, etc. That's pretty much the only thing that makes sense and I am excited for this plotline.
- I LOVE the team-building that has been going on this episode. Pretty much every character got their comfort zones challenged.
- The end was just chilling. Clark Greg is REALLY good at playing a conflicted and lost version of Coulson - his face during the phone call was VERY telling.
Loved the ep! great character developments with Fitz/Simmons and very nice advancement with Fitz as he went out with Ward on the mission as he isn't just a lab nerd but a capable agent in his own right. Of course more hints in the ongoing Coulson mystery as he is catching things himself regarding Tahiti and his clearance/non-clearance issues, and the tidbit of Skye describing him as being a "robotic version of himself"... loved the "chat" he had with May as she did tai chi... lol I did catch some foreshadowing bits as while in the Hub, Simmons referred to the Triskellion site of SHIELD being more impressive and I believe that that location will be featured in the upcoming Winter Soldier movie... Liked the appearance of the Agent Sitwell character who was also in one of the One Shot movies.....
I loved Fitz and Ward helping each other on the mission. I hope they work together again.
Poor Coulson at being denied access to the restricted file. What's up with that, SHIELD? They really don't want anyone to know about Tahiti and Coulson's clearance issues.
I can't wait till we get more information about Skye and her family. I hope it's something badass and gives Skye a major arc storyline. Something terrible must have happened because May and Coulson looked saddened by the pictures.
I think they are just a little too socially awkward still to be at that point lol I think Aydrian is right though they are almost there, the next step will be like Amy and Sheldon on Big Bang.
Why do you all think his clearance is gone? Isn't it simpler that the higher ups are just keeping that ONE file from him (plus any others related to it) Doesn't that make more sense than removing his clearance and making everyone play along every time something like this happens?
Especially if he is an LMD, shield would not risk to just giving him ALL the info Level 8 would have. - Notice how Hand does not tell him about no extraction, even though, according to him he should know that as level 8?
His requests are fulfilled as long as they do not trigger some sort of red flag
That was yet another awesome episode. I think the show is finding itself real nicely. Too bad such a large part of the audience has decided to bail already. Fitz and Ward were an awesome partnership. And between this episode and the previous one they've managed to totally change my mind on Fitz-Simmons and their purpose/useufulness to the show. I think having them have separate storylines really helped. I hope the ratings stop falling because I am growing more and more attached to this show.
Loved it, it was even better than the last one. Simmons and Fitz are so cute together even if they're not romantically involved "although I want them to be :) " I don't think SHEILD provoked Coulson's clearance but he's not allowed to see that particular file so he wouldn't find out what really happened to him in Tahiti "the magical place".
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Aw, poor Coulson. LOL at that non-conversation with May. Interested to find out what's going on with Skye.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh God, I ship FitzSimmons so hard. Why are they not together?
Lets face it, they are together. They're just not physically intimate yet.
ReplyDeleteNooooooooooo, Fitz and Simmons are like siblings!
ReplyDeleteI like it and I'll take it (I honestly expected them to kiss when he and Ward returned at the end, tbh).
ReplyDeleteand how about the end credit....Coulson not able to get a file.....someone tamper with his clearance?

1000/5.
They are together. But platonically. Not every "love" or pairing has to be literal love.
ReplyDeleteThere has to be more to the clearance being gone......at the end because someone high up could have done this so he does not know the truth hmmm...?
ReplyDeleteYep. I think everyone who is in the know simply played along at his clearance level in "The Hub" while in reality it has been "revoked" since Tahiti.
ReplyDeleteWhat Tahiti? I wonder if he will get his clearance back? Will he ask Fury to get it back or maybe the director has no idea either
ReplyDeletetheoretical "Tahiti" - whatever happened between the time Coulson died and the time Coulson appeared in the pilot episode.
ReplyDeleteI doubt he will get his clearance back.

ReplyDeleteReally loved this one, like last week finding out more about FitzSimmons and getting to spend time with Fitz and Ward on the field was really fun.
ReplyDeleteWait, did they actually say he had his clearance fully revoked? Isn't it possible he was still level 8 and only had access to his own file blocked?
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome!

ReplyDeleteI thought it was just showing that whatever happened to him was higher than even level 8.
