  1. This show rocks. Minor flaws? Sure, maybe a few... but there's nothing in the same genre better on TV right now cable or non-cable. And the acting is ALWAYS fantastic.

  2. The first season was truly remarkable. The second season stumbled a bit, but still had some great moments. The whole third season has been weak at best, in my opinion. The writing has gotten sloppy, and I can't bring myself to care about the characters anymore. Not sure if I can make it to the end of this season sadly. I'm strongly considering dropping the show altogether now.

  3. Please explain. Past the first couple episodes I've been completely enthralled.

  4. Well the whole twist with Carrie/Saul planned everything of the first few episodes annoyed me because it seemed like it was the writer's saying "see everything was a plan, the writing was really sloppy and poor on purpose for this cool awesome twist!" It annoyed me, but at least it got more on track.

Then you got Dana who... well... I don't really know why the Brody family is still on the show. I don't really care what's going on with them, particularly Dana, and then it just sort of ended weirdly. Plus it nearly messed up Carrie/Saul's super awesome, covert plan when Jessica asked for Carrie's help... which made little sense.

We also have Brody who is only alive because Showtime demanded it, and I just couldn't bring myself to care about that whole episode he was in. And we haven't seen him since, so until we see how he'll impact the main story, it's another waste of time.

And finally we just have kind of silly things like with Carrie getting kidnapped being resolved in like 5 minutes because... it was all part of Carrie/Saul's super awesome plan! It would've been cooler to see her undercover for longer.

I don't know. As the show goes on I care less about the stories and the characters. Quinn is by far the best and he's underutilized. Of course this all just my opinion, you're free to be enthralled with it and that's fine. Just for me, I feel the show has lost its way and is struggling to get back on track.

  5. Agreed om most points, sadly.

Season 1 was great... until the final few episodes. Episodes 1x07 onward felt thrown together and sloppy compared to the first half of the season and then the finale. Ugh! Terrible. I call it the episode that cried wolf! One could use that episode as a "what not to do" lesson! The false starts and stops sapped all the emotional energy out of the episode and left the viewer knowing Showtime copped out and was not going to kill Brody.

Season 2 was almost as good as Season 1... until the midway point. Then it got sloppy like the last few episodes of the previous year. Disjointed stories and events featured in the earlier episodes that had little or nothing to do with the endgame of the season. The last 3 episodes fell aprt and were just mediocre at best. Another disappointing finale that had huge massive logic holes.

Season 3 started off resembling a soap opera more than the first two seasons of this espionage thriller. Barely touching on government plots and focused on individual characters home lives. The Brody episode felt like a square peg forced into a circular hole it was so out of place. Then the "twist" occurred, but I lost a great deal of respect and interest by then frankly.

Each season has been downhill after Episode x06, and if this season has started off so bad I am a bit afraid of how this season will end! The ground work laid in the first handful of episodes has already had its emotional pay off for the most part (sloppy again) and I I do not have faith that there will be enough meat left to make a full meal in the finale. Wait and see I guess.....

  6. I guess I must not watch the same show as everyone else, because I'm loving this season. Well, except for the Dana stuff. I just think the haters are crazy. Last nights episode was great!

  7. I love the acting, they are fantastic in this, but the writing this season sucks, sorry.

And why is Abraham F Murray even in this show?

  8. I honestly didn't suspect that I'll have to drop a show that had a fantastic first season and a very good second season. Sorry Showtime, you fooled me with Dexter and I stayed as a viewer for way too long, but I won't make the same mistake twice.

  9. Love the show in general but am not crazy about how disjointed this season seems! I do hope we've seen the last of Dana (since she moved out) and hope they don't waste any time at all on the carrie being pregnant storyline. (that's just dumb!)

  10. Underused is an understatement! The only thing he has portrayed so far is being a back staber and an arse kisser. Its a shame for he is a fantastic actor.

I thought this season would have been about the Intelligence business, but i also thought Brody would have been killed by now...boy,i'm batting 0. :)

  12. I agree with the rest of you: Acting is really great, but the storylines and writing.. Not so much. Maybe I'm a little spoiled since I binge-watched the first two seasons during the summer and I was very excited about S3 but I haven't really been enjoying this season.

  13. I agree with what most of you are posting, this season is no where near as good as the previous two. Brodys family (and Brody himself) was not in this episode and that was a relief. I´m loving Quinn and Carrie, so I´m excited that they will have their own little project going on on the side.
I don´t know what to think about carrie´s pregnancy, is that their way of keeping the Brody family on the show?! I hope not. Please let them go! And I hope Carrie does not end up with a baby....

  14. We aren't "haters." We just saw a wonderful start to the show. It was gripping, with heartstopping moments, and a frenetic pace. It was like a rollercoaster ride. But now it's crawling at a snail's pace, and I do agree that the plot-crafting has gotten sloppy. It's not hating; it's disappointment and sadness to see the show losing its intensity and wonderful writing.

  15. I actually liked this one better than mot of the other episodes but that was because of how much Quinn there was. And the mentions of Brody/Carry also helped. Other than that, I don't know. I think I am warming up a bit to the show because I don't feel so disappointed after each episode, I've adjusted my expectations a lot. I never expect a season 1 type of episode. It's a much more medicore show than it was back then. Still enjoyable, but nothing like it was. I miss Damien Lewis a lot.
