  2. I know a lot of people are upset about the direction that this season has been going so far but we have confirmation from the writers and actors that Vincat will be together! So just sit tight and be patient and trust the writers. They know what they're doing!
This episode was sooooo great on so many levels. The next 6 weeks is gonna drag by.

  6. I only watch this casually, but I wish the cw would film 11 episodes then have another long hiatus before airing the other 11. Then having several few weeks breaks in between.

  11. just thinking about it and I'm in tears. Kristin Kreuk is such an amazing actress to be able to cause you to feel what she is feeling and to pull those emotions out of you (at least she did for me). Everyone did such an amazing job on this episode. It's going to be a long Hiatus due to the anticipation of wanting the next episode to find out what's going to happen next.

  12. WOW JUST WOW, what an amazing episode and Season 2 so far. The waiting is the hardest part every week, how are we going to survive 6 weeks. I guessi will have too watch it all over again and again. I absolutly love the depth, complexity and strugles of each characters but Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan did an outstanding portrayal of their strugles tonight. Cant wait to see them start coming back to each other and that dynamic. If you haven't watched season two yet you need to catch up now because you are missing out.

  13. I agree this episode tonight is amazing,Kristin did an awesome job.I was on tears on the last part of show. She really pulled it,she is still the tough cop, strong woman, doesnt feel bad for Vincent he deserved it,maybe that will help him realized she did it to help him clear his head.

  14. After the premiere, the midseason finale is the only episode so far this season which is actually worth all the hype created around it. I feel that the cast and crew had oversold their product in all their interviews but this one definitely surpassed my expectations, which were low after being disappointed for so many weeks. And while some things in this episode were upsetting, they definitely added new dynamics to VinCat relationship.
I wasn't open to Vincent choosing his beast but this episode made me realise that he was always tempted to let it win over, even before the she-beast got into his head. He only needed someone to tell him it was okay to not fight his inherent nature. Tori amplified his beast but he ultimately made that decision because he wanted to. Not once did he falter even after Cat all but broke down pleading. At that moment, I really wished that somehow, from some hidden dormant corner, the old Vincent would resurface. But I guess sometimes, love really isn't enough. The writers don't seem in a mood to let go of the amnesia track anytime soon.
Now, Vincent has a lot of audacity walking into Cat's apartment with Tori but Cat is the one I wanted to smack across the face when she told him she still wants to give them a chance. No wonder he takes her for granted! The ultimatum she gave him between choosing her or his beast made me happy till she decided to interfere with that choice. I don't really condone Catherine shooting Vincent. but I felt sad to see how much it devastated her. This was probably her only hope of saving his humanity but I think she only pushed him further away. And in the process, she's herself gotten lost in an abyss from where there is no coming back.
This is why I say VinCat don't need a third angle between them. They are so complex and murky and do a pretty good job of ‘pulling apart’ on their own. Currently, I am not the biggest fan how their relationship is being portrayed because, let’s be honest, there is too much baggage from the past episodes that I simply cannot let go. So it's going to be interesting to see how VinCat's relationship will be nursed back to health.
Also, really looking forward to Cat's and JT's 'Who Am I?' being explored, who they used to be before they became so invested in Vincent and how they plan to move on.

  15. Oh I forgot to mention these two characters who I felt were important in today's episode.
One was Tori. I honestly do not like her as an actor or as a character and I'm not going to pretend to enjoy her presence. But I guess she was a necessary catalyst in making Vincent choose his beast. Also, I don't think she was being nasty to/about Cat on purpose, she probably genuinely felt that the latter didn't understand how things work in the beast world. I'm going to give her the benefit of doubt even though I thought her authoritativeness was out-of-line (As you can see I'm less judgmental of characters I don't like than of the ones I do. I'm weird that way). But oh Lord, how I hope she will be gone once her purpose is served (which I think should’ve been this episode but sadly I'm not the writer, just a fan).
The other one is Gabe. Maybe it's just me but he really seems to have had a change of heart and I'll be disappointed if the writers turn him into a villain again. I can understand where those who're still holding on to what he tried to do last season finale are coming from. But just like Vincent-Tori's kiss was an animal instinct of mating, Gabe's actions were also guided by animal instincts of survival. I was and I am equally disgusted by both the situations. But Gabe has managed to earn redemption and if the writers can do that for him, I'm sure they can do it for Vincent as well.

  17. What an achingly amazing episode of BATB. Kudos to Jay Kristin and guest Ted Whithall. I've really enjoyed the dynamics between them. My VinCat heart hurts terribly for my beloved couple. They along with us fans have been put through the ringer this season and we're all battered and bruised emotionally. Compared to this action packed provocative bittersweet (heavy on the bitter) 8 eps of Season 2 so far, Season 1 was all sunshine and candy floss. I loved Season 1 for its romance and Season 2 for its compelling storytelling.
I am first and foremost a Vincent fan so I understand and love his character development 100%. I said on another site that Cat has been blowing hot and cold with Vincent all through Season 2 so far which has made her somewhat less likeable than in Season 1. I don't enjoy seeing Cat constantly pushing VIncent away instead of helping him regain his memories. Much as I hate the idea of VinCat apart, since the theme of Who Am I this season is self discovery and after seeing them so uncharacteristically at odds with one another ~ I do feel that VinCat seriously need a clean break to sort themselves out rather than have them in relationship limbo in this irksome push and pull fashion. WHEN they eventually get back together AGAIN I hope to see them REALLY COMMITTED to each other as they were in Season 1. (Hopefully sooner rather than later!) Much as I detest Tori I guess she is just the catalyst for Vincent choosing his beast side for now. Yes I get the loop de loops our poor VInCat have to hop through to "earn their love" for the sake of drama and tension. Most of us fans would prefer them to face obstacles TOGETHER instead of being at each other's throats. However THIS is the direction the writers and Brad Kern have chosen so for better or for worse I'm all in on this journey to see them through because no other show has me so invested. No other TV couple has me rooting for them like VinCat and putting in so much time and effort online every single day to vote and promote BATB diligently because I just can't bear the thought of losing our show to ridiculously unjustified poor ratings.
If you want many more seasons of BATB to enjoy please do all you can to support our show by watching live in US and participating in all related social media activity. (Come visit us at hashtag #BatB on twitter where Beasties ROAR!) If you haven't been watching BATB please do so and then hopefully you will understand why our fandom is so passionate about this brave heartwarming show. Really really good TV ♥

  18. Last episode was intense , solid and worth watching (Hothead is stil my # 1)
    - Producers should stick with Stu Gillard and let him put his stamp on more episodes.
    - KK is a real drama queen. She deserves some credit.
    - Catherine : hope she doen't waste any time with a former beast while she's on break with The Beast. Be more creative.
    - Jay Ryan is a great actor but I saw his best in Season 1 in terms of emotional performances . The man-animal Hamletic conflict is not perfectly balanced and not so poignant . The Beast seems to have total control over his human side most of the time . I don't know , it’s like he is trying so hard to look cold and dangerous and can't tone down the killer look .From his facial expression you can pretty safely assume he's never into Catherine. Sorry .
    - Vincent brain can be easily manipulated : Murfield, Alex, Bio Dad , Tori . A beastly marshmallow.
    - I'm glad Bob is still alive . TW is quickly becoming my favourite Batb actor. Hope he will stick around for long.
    - Amber is not as bad as I thought. Nice surprise.
    - Gabe : he'll be declared saint before episode # 10. Can he walk on water too ? Wondering if he already bought an engagement ring for Catherine . Predictable . I'm confused about Sendhil acting skills. He always sounds like he's reading a book.
    - Tess & JT : scratching my head . Do they have a purpose in Season 2 ?
    - Writers put two more nails into VinCat coffin :
Vincent causing a car crash while Catherine is driving and just caring about Bob. Ouch
Catherine shooting Vincent right in his stomach . Painful.

Hope the new arc will bring fun , colors and light . The atmosphere of the first 8 episodes is really dark and depressing. By the way I hate Cat's apartment.

  25. Great end to this eight episode story arc. The Vincent and Catherine back and forth are they aren't they was getting a little tired so resolution for the time being with their relationship status (VinCat Facebook status changed from "It's Complicated" to "Single") will help with the transition into the new story lines that resumes in January. Jay and Kristin were excellent in this episode with the emotional range of feelings that Cat and Vincent were going through. Two things that bothered me was it was very out of character for Vincent to put Catherine in danger when he jumped on the car hood and two where did this moral high ground come from for Catherine, she herself admitted she has no problem that the Beast kills criminals or other "bad" beasts, but her Bio Dad, who was the reason Vincent turned into an assassin and responsible for the Beast murders, is the reason Vincent will be "dead to her" if he kills Reynolds. And did she forget that in season 1 the "Out of Control" episode she used Vincent to save Evan and in the process was responsible for the death of Evan's abductor. I don't mind that they need to take the show in a different direction and ramp up the suspense but I would just like consistency in the character development, not have them all over the place.

  26. There are at least 22 idiots that I want to slap! Voting negatively brings BATB down in the weekly popularity charts! If you don't like this episode then DON'T VOTE AT ALL!!

  27. Am I in the minority to say I'm really pissed with Vincent at this point? He's been a complete ass in the last few episodes. And Cat, God, stop giving him second chances! I actually liked that she shot him. He had gone far enough! I really like Gabe this season and liked that he was there for her in the end. I'm not saying I want them to end up together but until Vincent gets his shit together I'd prefer it if he stayed the hell away from Cat. Plus, I'm not sure if the writers have thought season 2 through. Getting old Vincent back won't matter if they completely destroy his character by making him act constantly as a villain. It's like Cat says, there are some things that he can't come back from.

  28. Tough cop who spends 1/3 of her screen time sobbing and seems to forget the people her dad works for have killed innocent people, hacked police computers and "lost" evidence when needed. Her dad will escape, get off due to lack of evidence or someone will silence him - Vincent was more than justified given what he'd been put through and Cat wussed out.

  29. Simply the best!!!!!! I cried my eyes out watching the episode. It left me an emotional wreck. Jay Ryan and KK did an outstanding job. My goodness their facial expressions were heartbreaking. These two are just phenomenal, top knotch performances.
Loved the whole episode. Just wished Cat didn't do what she did. After what V has been through, he didn't deserve that. That's one more betrayal by someone he trusted. Hope he will be able to forgive her in time and our VinCat will find each other again. We miss them!!!

  30. Thank you, very good assessment, I know we need to continue to support this amazing little show, I'm still holding out for my happy ending :)

  31. I was really disappointed in the actual script. They constantly clarified Wait, are you talking about ____? or What do you mean? or some other pointless clarification question that the audience would have already known if they had been following the conversation. I felt like I was watching a poorly written fanfic. Really? Some of those lines are just plain bad - kudos to the actors for attempting to work around a bad script.
