  1. Fusco's reaction during Root's explanation is hilarious.

  2. Wait, this ISN'T the big event that Root has been prepared for? Jeez - what the hell else is this show going to throw at us?

  3. The ratio of people Fusco likes to those he doesn't WAS 3:1. Now it's 2:2. I can see the future of Fusco/Root interactions being very funny.

  4. I will always watch this series, whether they kill off main characters or not. And you're right, once Finch dies, the series will have a finale.

  5. Now? Almost certainly not, especially not after Carter's death (that would be too much, even for the most emotionally stable and sturdy of viewers).

Yeah, that quote from Fusco is to what I was referring. The best tool the writers have for Shaw's character is illustrating her "softer" side. They managed to demonstrate her hidden layers effectively during "Razgovor," and subsequently with every scene when she intermingles with Bear.

Exactly. Root and Shaw are merely buffers for Finch and Reese, at least for the time being. It's also baffling to constantly read that Shaw and Root are "clones" of the original duo, given that the four are distinct in their temperaments. They also alter the dynamics at-hand depending upon with whom they're involved.

  6. Yes, if someone is gonna be replaced, they already have their replacements. Root to Finch and Shaw to Reese. I don't think that'll happen though.

  7. Ever I'd say.

Yeah, the backstory of Shaw was interesting. Her relationship with Bear is genius though.

Shaw and Root are basically Reese and Finch two years later. They'd easily take over, but it'd never happen. Yes, Carter was a main character, but she was a supporting main character. Reese and Finch are the main focus of the show, so killing them off would be illogical.

  8. The writing quality, alone, is enough of an inducement to watch the series. Seriously, Nolan could kill off everyone, replace them with new characters, and I'd probably love them within a few episodes.

  9. Who knows. The show could end with Reese and Bear living something akin to a "normal" life, but if the main characters all die, I can't see Bear wandering the streets, or being put to sleep. Unless Grace takes care of him.

"I'm only in it for the dog." Great line. xD

I see them as more volatile versions of Finch and Reese. It could very well turn out that the Machine uses Root for whatever objective it has "in mind" (though it's probably fair to say it has a mind, by this point), then tosses her aside.

  10. Fusco always had the benefit of being comic-relief and "The Atoner." If he dies, it could only entail the coming of an even darker turn to the story than which we've already experienced.

  11. In particular, it's incredible how the writers manage to strike the right balance between hilarity and solemness. Even in an attempt to stop a heartbroken vigilante from killing people, the witty remarks fit right in.

  12. That's the same I always think. POI has killer writers.

  13. I would watch that.

"CBS announces new fall drama - 'Bear', following the life of the Person of Interest dog. After the events of the Person of Interest series finale that left all his friends dead, Bear now roams the streets in search of crime to stop. Using a device Finch implanted into him, Bear is able to gain numbers from The Machine and is able to stop crime before it happens." Despite my initial reaction to the idea, CBS would cancel it after one episode that gets ratings of 0.4 and 0.98m viewers. Sorry Bear, but you can't have your own TV show.

Perhaps. I think Finch is secretly hoping so. He can't stand that she has access to it.

  14. Guys, how crazy would a twist like this be? https://twitter.com/s_mielke/status/405456084225118210 I can't imagine Finch shooting to someone

  15. My thoughts go like this:

    Expected to kill Simmons: Reese.
    Should kill Simmons: Fusco.
Likely to kill Simmons: Elias, Root, or someone else.

  16. Or...

"Canine of Interest" - similar premise, but with Bear stopping crimes against animals before they happen. The producers can even use Pokémon speak to let the viewers know what Bear is saying to the animals, and vice-versa.

  17. It would be funny if Simmons' number coming up has more to do with the Machine's big "plan" than actually stopping Simmons' murder.

  18. Blame CBS above all else; the move to Tuesday at 10:00 PM literally gutted the ratings. I could even show you in-depth, but it would take a while to set up. But I'm willing to do it!
