  1. Dammit!! As if I wasn't already afraid for Fusco, this promo makes me dread Reese's fate even more. The 10th episode of each of the past two seasons has featured Reese in distress. 1x10 - shot and injured, taken away by Harold. 2x10 - arrested as possible 'Man in the Suit'.

So, I am going out on a limb and saying that Reese will be in even more mortal peril than Fusco. Time for a crazy theory - what if Reese fakes his death and disappears or is injured and taken away by Elias' men - only we, the audience know he is alive but Finch and the rest think he is dead.

    What say?

  2. That'd be a pretty interesting little twist. I fear for Fuscoe (ha alliteration), but they seem to be driving that point home way too much, which is making me doubt he'll be the one to die. I don't see them killing Mr. Reese unless it was the final season, but a fake out death would be interesting.

  3. why is Finch so surprised? Is it because root knows what happened even being imprisoned in the library?Maybe the machine will have a role to play

  4. It's right that the whole "Hero will Fall" & "Ultimate Sacrifice" may not necessarily mean "Death". That's the most obvious choice & Nolan is anything but obvious!

  5. I doubt it. Based on the title of the next episode and on the different interviews with the creators I think it will be more like he snaps and goes rogue, hunting down the ones who are responsible for what happens with Fusco. Lee Tergesen is a new face in the show and he probably won't be just a hired low level goon.

If Root gets to know about the turmoil despite her lockup and without any other input, it would be really a new development, but I won't draw conclusions from the random cut scenes of the promos.

  6. The promo does say ''To save Mr. Reese a hero must make the ultimate sacrifice''... I can't imagine that means Reese himself!

I do love your theory about him faking his death though! Personally, I think it might be Root. The Machine presumably wants her to play a role that involves her being with Reese and Finch. I think she might have to sacrifice herself for the team, and that her telling Finch ''sorry for your loss'' is the misdirection in the promo. She could be saying that when she learns Fusco is in danger (he's irrelevant to her anyway). I don't know. :p I think her death would be shocking, but more acceptable for the writers to do.

  7. Somehow I feel Finch will be forced to release Root in this :P

  8. Don't forget a number can mean victim or perpetrator, killing one of the team might put Reese in revenge mode/releasing his dark side which we haven't seen since the beginning of the show.

  9. I think it will be Carter who dies. In spite of the fact that she has a son, she is going to give up her life so Reese can live. I remember Plageman saying their relationship would culminate into something "fantastic". I don't see this as fantasic but maybe this woman willing to leave her child motherless to save hero Reese is his idea of fantastic.

  10. >.< Promos are made by the networks, they've been known to ruin episodes and give away major plots ¬.¬ I think this is not the case, though.

  11. Up until now, I didn't think any of Team Machine's numbers could come up, they being "dead" to the system and all. I know nothing escapes The Machine though, but still, find it intriguing.

  12. It's Fusco who is going to die .I think it's pretty obvious.

As early as the beginning of the season was marketed as a new ally, Finch, Reese Carter and Shaw.
Many poipromos is often shown in the first image of those four. Fusco isn't the main character. He's supporting character.
Nolan doesn't have the courage to kill a series well-known stars. Fusco's death causes the least damage to the viewer ratings.

Fusco likely to die until episode ten. Probably Fusco and Simmons kill each other.
It would be a shame because Fusco never really got to shine. Secondly, it would have been nice to sometimes see Fusco to be a clear winner and leaving the scene a winner. I'm afraid though Fusco die somehow heroically him to stay in some way a loser.

  13. I thought up till yesterday it would be Fusco that would die,but now i think its going to be Carter.

  14. Fusco never a clear winner? I do believe you've forgotten about the hilarious adventures (briefly seen) of Fusco saving Karolina Kurkova, ending with her kissing him and telling him to call her. That's a pretty big win.

Aside from that, I am with you in that I wish we had seen Fusco shine more, especially this season rather than the backseat he took.

  15. Reese is always wearing a vest when 'on the job', and I'm sure that with the entire city after him, he will be wearing a vest during that scene where he's 'shot' in the promo. I think this is where they're trying to mislead us into thinking either Reese or Fusco will die. I'm still pretty convinced it's Carter, since they brought in her baby daddy (sorry, can't think of any other way to put that xD). Plus I'm still not convinced Reese would go AWOL if Fusco should die--he'd be upset, definitely, but Carter's the one he'd flip his lid over. But I've been known to be wrong!...a lot...

  16. They are presumed dead by the officials, but the Machine sees everything. That's why the government has always wanted to control it - to collect all the info it is able to provide.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think the promo makes it very clear that Fusco sacrifices himself in order to save Reese. I'm gonna miss him!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'll never watch again if Reese is gone.

    ReplyDelete
  19. that would be good news if it was Root....she's annoying & if they have some brilliant story line "down the road" for her, I don't care. But she would not be considered a "hero" unless she did sacrifice herself, and since John's been made by that HR thug on the police car camera, a fakeout death scene would make sense so people would think the man in the suit blew up or something.

  20. first preview says A Hero Will Fall. next preview says To Save Mr Reese, a Hero will make the ultimate sacrifice. the writers have made it clear the hero who will fall is not Reese, like you I was dreading watching any more episode if I thought Reese would die. Don't want anyone to die except the bad guys. Bear could still technically be the loss.

  21. It's mostly just wishful thinking on my part, of course, because I don't want any of the original four to die. ;) Still, I could see them going that way. I'm not sure what else there is for her to do, and I don't see them killing off Shaw yet either.

  22. The ads showing Lionel in a chair, bleeding, being tortured are too obvious...but I've also noticed he hasn't been in much of the show so far this season. They are good with twists, tho, so maybe it will end up being Shaw if she was just in it for use in leading up to this climactic 3-parter.

  23. Clues? check # of episodes on each one, assuming it's including 2013, which it indicates it is:

  24. Spollers

if you google buddy tv season 3 spoilers it says " Fusco's Story Will Get Powerful

Fusco lovers, be ready to celebrate. Nolan and Plageman promised that there is still much to come from the detective. "We have a very powerful story arc coming for him," they promised. They pointed out that Fusco's relationship with Carter really deepened last season when they did an origin story for him and they promised that he's going to become more integral to the story as the show goes on. "

Also says will explore the relationship between Bear and Shaw so it won't be either of these two.

  25. Look again. It;s Fusco who is shot in the promo. 1st preview for ep8 says "a hero will fall" 2nd preview for ep9 says "To save Mr.Reese, a hero will make the "ultimate sacfifice." The show makes it clear that Reese is not the hero to fall.

  26. Well, yeah. CBS tailored both promos to scream at us 'Fusco will die to save Reese!'. It's possible that it's true, because we don't know if this is classic misdirection, or hiding the truth in plain sight. I for one, never believe everything I see in promos, as they tend to be edited to deceive you, catch you off guard. However, in the extended promo for "The Crossing", there's a clip where you see Reese shot in the back. Ergo the reason I brought up that vest he's most definitely always wearing; he gets shot, but it's no biggie.

  27. I thought I seen the extended on youtube. I went back and looked and yes they did add that scene. Great for ratings. However many times we've seen Reese shot before. Sometimes he turns around and shoots back. Other POI episodes show some else comes in the nick of time to save the good guy. Now I know why people are afraid to watch. Ep 8 Carter reminds Fusco to get his vest and he goes to get and she disappears. Detectives normally don't wear vest. Fusco may live to fight back. Acker's sorry for your loss could be a statement about his loss in communicating with the machine. These promos are meant to get people to watch i.e. increase ratings.

  28. I saw the slow motion views of the extended promo on personofinterestdiscussion.com. Reese is shot in the right shoulder. The guy shooting at him is one guy not with a bunch of cops behind him. The guy pointing the gun at Fusco points to his head but the look on Fusco's face showing some effort makes it appear that Fusco is going to try to knock his own chair down so that the shot can be taken to the chest--Fusco has a vest on. I'm still going to be scared to watch. May watch after I read comments from others about what happened. Too nervous.

  29. Off topic...does anyone know the song playing in the background?

  30. I still think that the Machine will be somehow the hero
