Is this honesty or strategy on Hook's part? I'm hoping it's the latter, I miss conniving Hook. But did he think that the kiss was Emma's darkest secret?
Hook seduced his mother and split up their family, which resulted in Rumpy getting super pissed and murdering her. Now Hook is interested in the mother of his child who he is currently trying to get back. How exactly are they supposed to talk through that?
I don't want them to talk about Emma. That is the LAST thing I find interesting about either character. I want them to talk about the feelings of abandonment both of them share. I want Baelfire to acknowledge that he wrongly blamed Hook for Milah's abandonment and I want Hook to apologize for abandoning Baelfire in his most desperate time of need. Understanding that the other is not the enemy, that the other is a person who made mistakes mistakes, because they are human. I believe they have the potential to see themselves in the other, and form a relationship based on that.
Instead, we get ......this. These characters deserve better.
If we ever do, it won't be anytime soon. There's far too much action ahead for many issues to be resolved. This love triangle and the Snowing romance are the focus of the creators for now. When they get tired of those, we might get polar bears. ;)
If that's the direction they head them, then I'd be content. I'm not holding my breathe when it comes to these writers though. They're notorious for dropping character development/interactions for flash-in-the-pan nonsense.
I think it's strategy.. or I hope that it is.. But he's also claiming right now that he's a man of honor and that Emma finally's starting to see him as that.. so maybe it could be about honesty as well..
. . . And my sympathy for Hook is gone yet again. FYI, I'm don't know what they're saying, but it's obvious they're talking about Emma, and Hook wants to fight for her love. Am I right? Sorry if I'm wrong. I like Hook, but I don't want him to compete against Neal for Emma. I just want him to make up with Neal for the past and find other love. :-/
So your sympathy toward someone is dependent upon whether or not they do what you want them to do? I'm hoping I'm drawing the wrong conclusion here because that's kind of terrible.
First of all,awkward.... But Neal took it surprisingly well.I guess everything's on hold until Henry is safe. But after that I wanna see a LOT of issues addressed.
Neal: "It's not a star map,it's what we're gonna use to trap Pan's shadow." Hook: "A coconut. Are you daft?" Neal: "You came to Neverland on a pirate ship through a Portal. You're gonna draw the line at a magic coconut?"
Sometimes I really want to like Neal. But I'm not really there...yet.Still,great line.
You are drawing the wrong conclusion, yes, but I take no offense. It's up to the person to choose what he/she wants to do, but I have a right to agree or disagree, as long as I don't act wrongly on it. And like I said above, I really have very little idea of what they're talking about. (I wish sneak peeks had subtitles. :-P) I suppose I was a little harsh up there. The love triangle thing really dampens my excitement for OUAT, so I guess I feel entitled to throw my frustrations at a character. Ridiculous, huh? LOL.
I can help you out with the contents of the sneak peek. In a nutshell, they're talking about exactly what you think they're talking about. Hook brinks up the kiss to Neal, not knowing that Emma didn't tell him about it. Emma enters and the conversation shifts to how they're getting off the island and their next destination - a place called Dark Hollow. They're going to attempt to capture Pan's shadow.
I hope their relationship and interactions aren't all about the love triangle. I'm hoping for some good bonding, or at least some scenes were they discuss what happened when Bae was younger.
As much as I hate the idea of a triangle, that measuring contest was fun to watch. I'm glad Hook was forthright enough to say it, And even more that it was not just apologetic but strategic, and he's going to fight for Emma.
I also loved Emma's "Really? Why couldn't it be called something like Sunshine Valley or Rainbow Cove?" She's really just exhausted by all this magic stuff.
Milah was looking for an excuse to leave. She told Rumple she was ashamed of him when he came back limping, and she would leave Bae to drink in taverns which is where she met Hook.
Hook shouldn't have gone after a married woman but he did love her deeply, and she had already split up their family by rejecting Rumple.
Hook clearly doesn't want Neal to hate him; I'm surprised he was the first to bring it up, but then again he thought Neal already knew. I just sincerely hope that the writers don't drag out the love triangle aspect. Most of the shippers are already unbearable. If only we could just get along!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Ohhh... awkward. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteGreat! It means that Hook has decided to fight!
ReplyDeleteIs this honesty or strategy on Hook's part? I'm hoping it's the latter, I miss conniving Hook. But did he think that the kiss was Emma's darkest secret?
ReplyDeleteUgh, exactly what I dreaded. More love triangle drama.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. Will we ever get a scene where Hook and Neal actually talk through their issues?
ReplyDeleteToo soon.. Henry' safe is what's important now
ReplyDeleteAnd Hook shoots a warning shot at the Swanfire ship. It's on now.
ReplyDelete..and the battle for Emma' heart has just begun...
ReplyDeleteSo not enough time for character development but enough time for contrived shipping drama? Where is the logic in that?
ReplyDeleteHook seduced his mother and split up their family, which resulted in Rumpy getting super pissed and murdering her. Now Hook is interested in the mother of his child who he is currently trying to get back. How exactly are they supposed to talk through that?
ReplyDeleteEmma is one of their issues and it stands to reason that getting into that discussion would lead into the other issues from their shared past.
ReplyDeleteWe have just to wait, for both

ReplyDeleteLOL at this point, I'd welcome the polar bears with open arms!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that is where Rumple's Shadow is as well with the dagger
ReplyDeleteBum Bum Bum..
ReplyDeleteI think it's strategy.. or I hope that it is.. But he's also claiming right now that he's a man of honor and that Emma finally's starting to see him as that.. so maybe it could be about honesty as well..
ReplyDeleteYeah I suppose we won't really know until the episode airs. I hate that I have to wait, even if it is a day :(
ReplyDeleteHook saw Emma and Neal talk after the events in the cave, maybe he thought she told him then or along the way.
