CBS ANNOUNCES NEW PREMIERE DATE FOR “INTELLIGENCE”

New Action Thriller, Starring Josh Holloway, to Launch with Special Preview on
Tuesday, Jan. 7, Following an Original Episode of “NCIS”
Moves to Regular Monday 10:00 PM Time Period on Jan. 13

CBS announced today the new premiere date for the action thriller INTELLIGENCE, which will have a special preview on Tuesday, Jan. 7 (9:00-10:01 PM, ET/PT) following an original episode of NCIS. It will premiere in its regular Monday (10:00-11:00PM, ET/PT) time period on Jan. 13.

INTELLIGENCE stars Josh Holloway as a high-tech intelligence operative enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. With this implant, Gabriel is the first human ever to be connected directly into the global information grid. He can hack into any data center and access key intel in the fight to protect the United States from its enemies. In her highly anticipated return to network television, Marg Helgenberger stars as Lillian Strand, the Director of the elite government cyber-security agency who supports Gabriel and oversees the unit’s missions. Strand assigns Riley Neal (Meghan Ory), a Secret Service agent, to protect Gabriel from outside threats, as well as from his appetite for reckless, unpredictable behavior and disregard for protocol.

INTELLIGENCE also stars Michael Rady, John Billingsley and PJ Byrne. Michael Seitzman, Tripp Vinson and Barry Schindel are the executive producers for ABC Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.

HOSTAGES will finish its 15 episode season with a special two-hour season finale on Monday, Jan. 6 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

  1. So Hostages is dead. Can't wait for Intelligence (but ugh at it being on the same time as Castle and Teen Wolf. I was enjoying having only one show on at 10 on Mondays! LOL)! Glad it's premiering early.

  2. I'm so excited about Intelligence!

  3. Woohoo! The sooner the better. :D

  4. Hmm, CBS initially had it premiere the day after Winter Olympics. I don't think that airing it against Winter Olympics now is such a good idea.

  5. Farwell Hostages, you were my favourite guilty pleasure show this season *salutes*

  6. I want this show to succeed so badly, but I fear it is doomed to cancellation after one season.

Here's hoping CBS friendly Helgenberger can draw in a crowd and then the charisma of Holloway can keep them coming back!

  8. I want this show to succeed very badly, I have been waiting for it ever since pilot season last year. I adore Josh Holloway and Megan is also great! The concept is also highly appealing to me. However, I think these are mostly bad news. The post NCIS preview is a good thing but premiering in January is bad as it means it will have to face the Olympics at some point (or have a huge one month hiatus after airing 4 episodes).

I think CBS would be better served keeping it on Tuesdays permanently. It is the perfect show to pair with POI and NCIS would guarantee a solid lead-in. NCIS-LA should be able to hold his own on Mondays and pull high 1s/ low 2s. Giving Intelligence the Mom lead-in is a bad, bad idea and that is why, back then, I though CBS should have done How I Met Your Mother/Mom/2 Broke Girls/ Mike and Molly. Mike and Molly would be a better lead-in than Mom and How I Met Your Mother could shore up Mom in the meantime. I know 2BG would be hurt, but I think overall they would be better served.

  9. I just wish they would keep that slot permanently!

  10. No, it's a bad idea, that's why I am worried. There is one slight benefit though which is that it will get to air for one month without the voice (and most likely the blacklist) on the horizon, so it has a very good chance at being sampled and of people sticking with it if it's good. The problem is that come february it is either going against the olympics or facing one month of repeats after just a few airings.

  11. Olympics start 2/7/14 ends on 2/23/14. But i think CBS is doing it early bc they really seem to want it to succeed and having it on 1/7/14 and then 1/13/14 these two episodes would give it a higher chance bc on 1/20/14 the following premieres on Fox and once it premieres it will air against the third episode of Intelligence's.

IMO CBS might be worried that when it premieres after the Olympics ppl would be heavily invested in the following when it returns after the Olympics hurting it's chance of getting a renewal.

  12. No all networks put their shows on Hiatus during the Olympics every time it airs so basically no shows will be in danger while Olympics is airing.

I think CBS wants to get a slight advantage bc on 1/20/14 Season 2 of The Following premieres.

  13. No new episodes will air during the Olympics. All the network will air repeats till the Olympics ends and Plus your forgetting Intelligence will go against Castle.BATB and The Following which premieres on 1/20/14 and i think that's the reason why they wanna air it in January.

  14. The Following isn't airing against Intelligence. TF is in the 9 pm time slot, Intelligence at 10 pm.

  15. Agreed that I want this to succeed. And maybe the post NCIS time slot would give them a better chance to survive. But I also don't want to see NCIS: LA canceled after it's moved to Mondays.

  16. LA should be able to perform at high 1s level at least and that is the new normal for CBS 10pm, so I doubt it would be cancelled. It's a medium risk-medium reward move. Depends on how confident they are on Intelligence. Considering they aren't doing it, probably not much. Even though I suppose there is an outside chance that if it premieres really well they keep it there like they did last year with Golden Boy!

  17. You dnt need both shows on the same time slot to battle it each other lol point is CBS decided to air it early bc they believe after the Olympics the viewers might forget or even not tune it to watch l. They basically want us to taste the goods so that when it goes on hiatus we the viewers would be wanting more of it after the Olympics

    ReplyDelete
  18. Lets not forgot NCIS:NO might be picked up if the back door pilot is a successs on NCIS this may. Putting a new episode after a NCIS episode ppl would expect to see NCIS:LA after but once they see Intelligences they wont wanna change the channel lol

Plus they been advertising it lately. Besides ppl would love to see Marg back on tv tho i was disappointed with the 300th episode lol

  19. Golden Boy deserved a summer run like Unforgettable but no CBS decided to cancel it!!

  20. It makes zero sense to say that Intelligence and the Following are competing with one another. They are not on the same network and they are not even on the same timeslot. Zero competition there.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I just hate CBS for not having given intelligence a fall premiere in the first place

Must suck for them that the show they favoured Hostages was such a flop

But Im excited I dont have to wait for february to watch Intelligence, thank god. Goodbye and good riddance hostages.
