Lemon, masquerade balls and one OTH returnee
Lemon was pretty sure of her intentions when she left the Belles but, in this week episode, there was nothing she wanted more than an invitation to the big Mobile’s Halloween themed masquerade ball. When Crickett refused to help her get it, Lemon had to recur to her glamorous merciless grandmother, and wow, she turned out to be nothing more than an evolved version of season 1 Lemon, just perfect!
Lemon’s grandmother turned out to be her salvation granting her an invitation to the masquerade ball she wanted to attend to. Although everything seemed perfect, her date turned out to be lame and boring. There were two things I loved in this particular plotline: first of all watching Lemon’s grandmother flashing awkward looks and sharp observations to each and everyone, but specially to Crickett (Oh, poor girl!) ; and second watching the return of Robert Buckley (Clayton Evans in One Tree Hill) as Peter, the gorgeous man Lemon met at the masquerade ball and spent the rest of the night with. I was a little preoccupied when he said he was not the settling-down kind of guy but I’m pretty sure he will be back because he really seems to make Lemon happy.
Annabeth, medical concerns and wedding bells
I am an assumed fan of AB, she is that kind of character you root for no matter what, so I was really worried this week when she had that health scare, but really happy when she taught Lavon was going to propose on their anniversary date. (So much mixed feelings this week!!) It was sweet to watch Zoe trying to help her covering up her health condition, so Lavon wouldn’t find out with her usual schemes and misunderstandings.
In the end, AB found out that her health is OK and Lavon was not deliberating proposing on their anniversary date so everything is pretty much the same as it was last week. In spite of everything I still think we will have a wedding this season and that part in the episode where AB says that she dreams with Lavon proposing and having kids with him was just sweet and tender, really heartwarming.
Zoe, Joel and Wade - the new (please no) Bluebell awkward love triangle?
This week Zoe was really occupied trying to help AB and making Joel and Lavon BFFs at the same time so there was not a Zoe-Joel-Wade comment-worthy sequence but you were able to confirm how strong Joel and Wade’s bromance is right now.
Wade spent the entire episode enrolling into and snapping out of one-night stands with married or compromised women. I wonder if this is not one way of showing the viewers that by having affairs with a lot of unavailable women he is trying to avoid facing the reality that he can’t be with the only unavailable women he wants, as George Tucker very well expresses by the end of the episode.
So, is this situation going to last a lot longer, is their relationship going to turn into the new Bluebell's awkward love triangle? We’ll see but I hope not.
Finish Line thoughts
I was touched by AB’s revelation of dreaming with Lavon proposing and having kids (a lot of them) with him so I’m really rooting for a wedding by the end of this season.
I like to see Lemon happy, she is a completely different person that way so I hope to see Peter back in Bluebell sooner rather than later because he seems to be the only one capable of making her really happy right now.
I’m a little tired of love triangles and I really think that Zoe is too so I hope they don’t turn Joel and Wade into the new George Tucker and… well, Wade.
Zoe + Cleopatra = HOT!
