  1. You know that the character was introduced in season 2, right?

  2. Yes, but Pilar and Juliette always spoke Spanish together. In fact, Juliette was called in to translate. I'm just saying they seem to be dropping that and speaking English now. So my question is, if Pilar could speak English, why did they need Juliette to translate?

  3. They called Juliette for the father, not for Pilar. But Pilar always could speak at least some English (and I guess what you think is her suspecting Nick is actually her confirming that she recognized him as a Grimm). But she isn't fluent in it...while Juliette is fluent in Spanish. So when the two were alone or when Pilar has to explain something complex, it's naturally easier to speak Spanish. When Nick is present, though, it would make more sense for her to use as much English as she is able to. (Naturally the real reason is that they don't want the passage with the subtitles being too long).

  4. I think, as someone who speaks two languages, i tend to do that too. Switch back between the two languages. If I'm with someone who is native, I would just speak the native language and English, and if there is another someone who doesn't understand it, I tend to speak more English.
