even if they don't consult for nypd anymore......they could still set up a private detective agency and they will get client from private citizens
ReplyDeleteThey could, but Sherlock doesn't want to because he likes working with the NYPD, as he said in the last episode.
ReplyDeleteWell one thing I've never understood about this incarnation of Holmes , is in the original short stories / novels Holmes regularly got paid about 45% of the time. From rich clients, English and foreign royalty/government's , rewards for recover property, and recovering kidnaped victims, but primarily Holmes was paid for his willingness to keep embarrassing secrets . So why shouldn't this Holmes take on paid cases ? And they don't have to be squalled divorce cases, but modern updates of the scandal in bohemia, the blue carbuncle, or the Bruce Partington plans or the mystery of the dancing men to name a few easily tweaked for the modern era. And get Holmes and Watson some nice $$$$.
ReplyDeleteWhich is true with Holmes original Conan Doyle stories he loved to work with Scotland Yard. But, the original Holmes was pragmatic realizing he needed from time to time take on a paid case to keep a roof over his head and eat well .
