Joanna Page says kissing David Tennant was cold and unromantic
Actress Joanna Page has revealed how dramatic new Doctor Who kissing scenes were far from romantic and left her feeling blue.
Gavin & Stacey star Joanna, 35, plays Queen Elizabeth in the 50th anniversary Doctor Who film later this month and stars alongside David Tennant who returns to play the Time Lord with current star Matt Smith.
Joanna said: “Filming the romantic scenes were quite difficult because my first day was on top of a mountain in Neath. It was absolutely freezing, it was blowing a gale and David, the Tenth Doctor and I, are having a picnic.
“So I’m lying across him and he probably couldn’t breathe, because I’ve just got this massive costume on, and he’s feeding me grapes as I’m just desperately shivering.
“You’ve got to try and play it romantic and relaxed, when actually you’re freezing cold. I think our lips were turning blue and I stopped feeling my hands."

Wait... Moffat brought David/10 back just to hook him up with someone else. Woe I knew Moff hated 10/Rose but that's just mean to the shippers/fans. Shame on you Moff :(
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, Queen Elizabeth is someone Ten actually hooked up with in his big goodbye run before he regenerated. We don't know where Ten comes from (unless I missed that spoiler), so maybe he just gets picked up from that time somehow. And then Rose comes back somehow, and conflict. It doesn't make it a great decision, and I'm not thrilled about it, but Queen Elizabeth does seem to hate Ten quite a lot in the future. Maybe this is why - he marries her and then ditches her for Rose and/or universe saving. It does seem like a strange move, especially as if Moffat didn't intend to go with at least a little Ten/Rose, he didn't have to bring back Piper or give Ten any kind of love interest, so I'm thinking the above scenario is something kind of like what we'll be seeing.
ReplyDeleteFair enough. It just seems sad to mess with something that had quite a nice happy ending (10 clone/Rose) .. not sure how I feel about it until I actually see the episode but right now after reading that I'm not looking forward to it as much. I don't ship that many couples but I did 10/Rose, and I don't want Moffat (with the big ego) to come along and ruin that.
ReplyDeletePretty sure it's not Clone10 we'll be seeing. Presumably, he's still off with FutureRose, doing his thing. Meanwhile, we'll be visiting with 'real' 10, picked up from some point in his time stream before the regeneration, but apparently after he's met up with Liz the First.
