  1. I think the red blue switch background is meant to represent good cop, bad cop. Certainly that's how they've been framing him in promos. I really hope they do something original with that - I'm worried that it'll just be another cop who does bad things just to get the bad guys but really his heart is in the right place blah blah. The Shield probably did the good cop bad cop thing best imo and Graceland has been an interesting take on it too. Then you've got the more bland good cop bad cop such as Sam Swarek (don't get me wrong I adore Rookie Blue but it's a very "safe" show). The reason Chicago Fire has been so good is because of it's grittiness - it's still mainstream but at least it's got depth. If Chicago PD can do the same and give real depth and conflict to their characters then I'm sure I'll love it.
