Atlantis - Episode 1.07 - The Rules of Engagement - Preview and Dialogue Teasers [UPDATE]

UPDATE 6/11/13: There's been some great guesses in the comments so I've filled in all the correct words and speakers so far!

This is a definite step up from last week, the inclusion of the royal family and more back story on the characters in general make for a far stronger episode. The pankration probably helps it for me too; Jack Donnelly and Oliver Walker have obviously worked hard on their wrestling and martial arts moves which make for some thrilling and acrobatic fighting scenes. As an aside, I know some had wondered if Jason’s new found gymnastic prowess had come from his amulet, but he is without it during the contest so it appears that this is not the case.

Another thing which helps make this a more solid episode is that the fallout from Hercules and Medusa last week is carried over. I still find the whole love potion trope a bad idea to have explored in this day and age, but at least there is some acknowledgement to an earlier storyline which is worked through here as the characters start to mend their friendship. Also, Pasiphae embarks on a plan this week which I expect to see played out until the end of the season. Continuing stories over multiple episodes makes for a far more satisfying narrative overall I feel.

The Rules of Engagement is on BBC 1 and BBC 1HD this Saturday at 8pm, below are some dialogue teasers to see you through until then. I will fill in the missing words later this week.

“When you’re in love there’s no such thing as ********” Hercules to Medusa

“It was never really gonna happen was it Jason. Ariadne is goddess on earth, where as you are just you” ? to Jason

“Kill me and they’ll hate you forever”

“Only the gods can be responsible for the outcome”

Medusa, does this mean you are speaking to me again now?” Hercules to Medusa

“Ariadne is alone, no friends, no allies. Where will she find the strength to defy the will of her father?” Pasiphae to Heptarian

“The king’s health is already not what it was, but I shall nurse him to the end” Pasiphae to ?

“If you truly love me, please don’t make this harder” Ariadne to Jason

“I am not the Oracle, but he has greater strengths than you can imagine” Melas to ?

“The shoulder is separated, it just needs putting back” ? to Jason
