    I was thinking maybe more along the lines of immortality. It would provide a potential tie-in to the league of assassins and Ra's al Ghul's lazarus pits

    We don't know from when this flashback is. It could be from Ollie's flashbacks' time but it could also be a flashback to right after the yacht sabotage (a year earlier) if Sara fills Ollie in on what happened to her.

    Even though they're gonna have the Flash, due to the Particle Accelerator, I can't see them veering that far from reality and going with immortality (not that I would mind). Maybe it's a super healer or Venom, but I can't see this show introducing immortals, there's no way to make that "realistic" (with the Flash, you have science experiment gone wrong and someone moving really fast, it's still a long way from coming back from the dead/immortality).

    Agreed. Even in the Flash's case they want to make his powers "science-made", they are still trying to avoid the supernatural.

    Sara's wearing the robe she was wearing when she fell out of the yacht. So I'm assuming Ivo's ship was behind the Gambit and fished her out of the water. That's why she didn't drown. But that doesn't look good for her. That ships whole deal seems to be testing how strong their prisoners are. So I think Sara and Oliver had equally horrible experiences.
