But Lange has confirmed that next year’s fourth season will be her last. “It ends up being a lot of time during the year being committed to something,” admits the actress. “I haven’t done that for a long time. It’s like doing a stage play between the rehearsal and the run. This is a 6-month commitment every year. That will be four years in a row. I want to have more time to myself I guess. Once it’s over and I have a full year ahead of me with nothing to do, who knows? It might not have been the best decision. But I think four years doing something is a sufficient amount of time.”

AHS will suffer badly without her. She made s1 for me and has remained strong ever since. Huge lose to the show :(

I pretty much worship the ground Jessica Lange walks on ever since S2, so I'm personally devastated. But my reasons are selfish and I think she is right, if she wants time for herself, for her family or whatever, being the lead actress in a TV show is a bad idea. Besides, I'm sure she has other projects she would like to work on and that becomes close to impossible with AHS.

ReplyDeleteAngela Bassett has been my favorite this season, I hope she fills Lange's shoes. To my surprise, I'm liking Emma Robert's performance this year, even though I'm not a fan of her.

ReplyDeleteSo disappointing, she was truly the core of S2 and of Coven, too. I only hope that they get Frances Conroy to step into a larger role, or someone with similar presence, I think Frances Conroy can do even more for AHS than she already has. Plus we might be getting Connie back for next season, which will further fill the gap -- she was one of my favourite things about S1. At first I rolled my eyes at her but she ended up being the only person I didn't have reason to hate, so I'd be glad to see her back. I won't get my hopes up on Angela Bassett coming back but that'd be mega cool.

The one I'm not liking this season is Taissa, her character is similar to the one in the first season.

Still, there were much more interesting characters in Asylum. There'd be more horror, things going on, and suspense in just one episode than in what
we've seen of Coven so far.

ReplyDeleteFirst about the Kyle and his mothers part..it's American HORROR Story. Molesting is a horror. Second, they aren't going to make the season about Kyle's character, its called Coven and he isn't a witch. Oh and he has said words, maybe you haven't been watching this season and that's why you don't like it....and about the article, I will be sad to see her go, but I honestly think she will be back.

could've been so much more. And yeah, if you consider mumbling and
monosyllabic sentences as "talking", good for you.
Coven => 3
boring teen witches and one Supreme who annoys me with her "I don't want
to get old and lose my powers" since the first episode; voodoo;
fighting zombies; annoying couple trying to get a child of which the
husband is the worst character ever.
Asylum => Dr. Arthur Arden,
possession, aliens, a mad psychiatrist, a double past/present
storytelling, Bloody Face, that incredible Christmas episode, and so
much more...
Wow...get a life. You don't like the show obviously so stop watching and let the rest of us enjoy in peace titty baby. Lmao!

ReplyDeletewhen you put it that way :) but i liked Coven way more than Asylum cause I felt like asylum was getting boring after the first 6 episodes. plus I dont really like Fiona. I really like Madison and Delphine's acting, hope they stick around for more. I dont really care about the voodoo witch thingys or whatever they are. They should have made Madison make Kyle speak like a few words instead of them screwing each other but thats AHS for you... you never know.
