I can't wait for this show. I usually hate procedurals but I'd seriously don't mind a cop procedural set in the future, with new creative ways to commit and solve crimes this show could actually get one of my faves. Plus: Karl Urban is great in almost everyth....correction: in EVERYTHING he does. So I'm hyped
I always say bad things about procedurals...but then FOX puts a spin on them and I always love them. Fringe. Sleepy Hollow. I'm bound to love Almost Human... I even enjoyed New Amsterdam and Past Life to a lesser degree.
I guess I should start saying I hate CBS-style procedurals, huh? haha
I cannot wait for this one. It's been one of my most anticipated pilots since May, just bring it on already. This was one of my favorite trailers so far.
IMO, the problem with procedurals is that there are too many of them. I think nowadays it will become rarer and rarer to launch a typical cop procedural. I think Elementary was the only one last year and I suspect it will be the only one in a while. Even CBS is putting a spin to them with POI, Intelligence. I am a hardcore fan of serialized shows and I prefer them to procedurals most of the time, but there are days in which I come home too tired to concentrate and I feel it is a waste of episode to watch a serialized show. Sometimes I wait until the weekend to watch episodes of my favorite shows because I want to focus on them while watching. During the week, sometimes I just don't have the energy to do so. That's where shows like Castle, Bones and H50 come to me. I think there is room for both but there were a few years in which it looked like only procedurals could make it and that's why some of us became so frustrated with them.
I think it will start out being the procedural (executed very much like POI, which even that has more serialized elements here and there), but I speculate, if the numbers are decant, that it will change either closer to the end of the season or in the second season to become more and more serialized...(Fringe season 3, Alias season 2 & 3, Revolution season 2, ect) I think "they" think procedurals, especially crime ones, will draw greater audiences...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
