Truth is that this season it's practically as if he has been killed of... He was one episode so far, so it's almost the same. I think the show is losing a lot of its quality despite still having great moments and for me that has a lot to do with Brody's absence. This being said, I am still watching a Brody-less show, so yeah I would keep watching, albeit with a lower degree of enthusiasm
Yes in fact I think it would help fix the show's problems right now, I love Lewis he does a great job but thinking about it now Brody should have died in S1.
I think Brody will play a much bigger part by the end of the season. As for the Brody family, not interesting at all!!! Maybe the first few episodes only small bits, but that whole Dana on the run with her crazy boyfriend... glad that is over!!
I always liked Brody´s character, but I am not missing him this season. The episode he was in was not very interesting. So, Yes, I would still watch the show without Brody. Carrie is my main reason for watching.
I think that Claire Danes is doing a spectacular job and the show overall is still very quality, but S3 kind of lost its spark for me (I found out that I do not really care for Mrs. Brody). And with Brody practically MIA with !one episode... This unbalance bugs me a lot, I would like it more if the episodes were alternating between what Carrie is doing and what Brody has to deal with (as shown in Tower of David, which drew very nice parallels). But I guess I would, since I'm doing it now, but I wouldn't be as happy about it as I was in S1 and S2.
Yes and I think it would be even better withou any of the Brody family member. The absence of Brody could easily be compensated by Quin (I like much more), and not even romantically speaking!
Not really sure. I love Homeland and I love Carrie, but Brody is part of the DNA of the show, it would feel like something is missing. But it may not take Brody being killed of for me to stop watching; the season has been kind of slow as of right now, I'm worried that the writers might be out of ideas. Anyway, I'll put my trust into that it will get better
I'm still deciding whether or not to watch the last three episodes and killing Brody would definitely tip the scale in favor of me watching. I wish they had stuck to the original plan of killing him in the first season and continue on with Tom's part of the story. Now they have paint themselves in a corner and the show has become pretty ridiculous.
I don't see how that would make any difference this season. :p
That being said... I like the idea of Brody being punished for his crimes and surviving everything like a cockroach. It's hard to say whether I want him to keep on living, because judging by his amount of screentime so far I can't tell whether or not they still know what to do with him...
I would still give it a shot, because I could get on board with a 3 season arc for Broady and then turn it over on someone new (perhaps Quinn) for another 2 season arc. I think Homeland is similar to Dexter in that it displays a lot people with psychological/emotional problems and something fresher could be good for season 4.
I think it's more important to be in it for the long haul with Carrie and Saul over everyone else.
I think because of the way things turned around with Carrie and Saul, we shouldn't under estimate their plans for Brody. I think they way they have contrasted Carrie's, Brody's, and Dana's story so far has been rather nice writing, which is why I expect some kind of turn around with Brody in the next couple of episodes and/or a way to weave him into this bigger Iranian plot.
That doesn't mean that I don't think they won't kill him off. That "Romeo and Juliet" reference (and wink back to Claire Danes) might be very telling, especially for Brody...
His story is kinda boring now, but I like him, I would like to see him stay with a more interesting arch. The truth is this season has been quite borring so far and I don't know if it is because they've pretty much dissapeared Brody but I'm finding it hard to figure out where they're going.
I think there should be a fourth option. Will you still watch season 4 if Brody is still on the show. There seems to be a lot of Homeland fans that really want the show to move on from Brody and his family.
Definitely yes because the show is not just based on Brody. I feel that writers are making a mild and slow transition to "Brody-less Homeland" and in fact, they've been pretty succesfull in that so far.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I would, I watch it mainly for Carrie.

ReplyDeleteI don't watch the show, and I still wouldn't watch it if this Brody guy got killed off.

ReplyDeleteYes I would still watch
ReplyDeleteCarrie is my favorite character so I would stick around for her

ReplyDeleteYes,and their is no shortage in storytelling.
ReplyDeleteI like Quinn more aswell. I like Brody, but the rest of the family has nothing to do with the real story, so they should be let go.
ReplyDeleteIf Brody needs to stay on it has to be with a connection to the CIA.
I definitely would watch, but whether or not I would stay would depend on the writing of the rest of the plots and the other characters stepping up.

The problem is that any Brody connection with the CIA seems extremely unlikely, the man wore a suicide vest and tried to kill the VP in season 1.
ReplyDeleteI know, that is why I would not be sad to see him go. Not because I don´t like him, but because he does not fit into the story line anymore.
