Buffy, Seinfeld, ER, The X Files, Arrested Development, Malcolm in the Middle, Frasier, Desperate Housewives, HIMYM (all of it!), 24 (all of it!), Parks and Recreation, Community... To name a few!
The shows I want most on Blu-ray Disc: - 24: The Complete Series - CSI: Miami - The Complete Series - The Simpsons - The Complete Series - 2 Broke Girls - The Complete 2nd Season (the first one was released on BD, but the second was, and I HATE it!)
I don't buy Blu-ray (wasted money imo), but if I did from the list I'd buy Charmed, off the list there are many shows on air I'd love to buy. Some I have, some I can't yet buy.
I don't think Buffy will ever be released as BluRay honestly...
Whedon has commented himself that it was never meant to be viewed in a widescreen format. Other than "Once More With Feeling" the series was filmed and framed for 4:3 aspect ratio full screen format. Extending the frame or zooming and cropping (like Netflix and region 2 and 4 DVD sets) or stretching it beyond the original framed area brings troubles.
All that said, if they could find a way to remove these problem spots, or simply keep the original 4:3 aspect ratio but use a new restored transfer with modern technology I might be for it....
None of these strike me as being much improved by the extra features of blu-ray. But a soap opera or sitcom? They're just fine on my DVD player. Something like Babylon 5 makes the extra cost more worth it to me.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Buffy

Here is a great article discussing it.

CHARMED!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBuffy and Angel. I would also kill for a HQ version of Avatar: the Last Airbender.
