    I like TVD´s finales, always something surprising there. But come on, the end of 3rd season was extra shocking.

    Season 3 Alaric dying, the phonecall between Damon and Elena, them actually meeting first, everyone thinking they were gonna die, Elena finally becoming a vampire, by far best season final for me.

    TVD finale's are always amazing.. the third season finale is my favorite though! Alaric's death </3, the first time Damon met Elena, and then Elena becoming a vampire!
    4th one was really good too.. Elena choosing Damon, Silas is Stefan's doppelganger, Katherine takes the cure..

    Season 1, but I would actually give it to the penultimate episode of season 2 if that was an option. The season 2 finale, while good, felt more like the first episode of season 3.

    While clearly the worst season, season 3 had a pretty decent season finale and actually had me weep for my favourite character (Ric....come back, PLEASE).
    But I have to go with season 2, wich I feel is a bit underapreciated. It was a slow end to an intense season tying up most loose ends the season left open. Loved it.
    Plus: it was the only season finale that didn't kill off one or more major characters (granted Elijah 'died' that episode but he came back)

    To be fair, the only reason why season 2 finale didn't kill any major character is because they killed a major character, Jenna, in the previous one.

    Well yeah, the previous episode felt like the bombastic finale while the actual finale was the aftermath. I liked the feeling it had

    I agree, I also liked the feeling, but for me the actual finale felt more like a season 3 premiere.

    I only watched the first 3 seasons. S2's finale, I found pretty underwhelming. S3's was surprisingly emotional and affecting, but S1's is unbeatable. Why? Four words: "Hello John. Goodbye John." *stab*

    Season 1's finale definitely. Season 3's was amazing too, and like a couple of posters have said, the Season 2 penultimate episode felt like more of a finale and its by far by favourite episode of the entire show, I WISH that was Season 2's finale.

    Season 1 for me, as someone who read the books prior to the show premiering and hoping that Katherine was coming. That's also the reason why S3 was nowhere near the best; book readers knew it was coming.

    I have to go with season three - so much happened in the end with Elena becoming a vampire, Alaric dying. I couldn't wait for it to come back! But I also loved the season one finale too!

    I loved season 1 and 3....The flashbacks of Elena and her folks drowning, connecting that to the present as she was yet again drowning! With the music, and Damon's all "You what?" When she actually jumped up from that slab, i teared and was completely speechless! In my head I was yelling nooooo!!! And i just laid back thinking wtf just happened?? I also loved Damon and Alaric's scene! And the flashback of delena. BUT I had to choose season 1 (it was a hard choice) But i could never forget the way i reacted..Jeremy attempting suicide. "DELENA" Kissing to Bloodstream!! OMG!! I went crazy! I literally got off the couch and slid my way to the tv, like DO IT!! KISS HER!! Then with John in the kitchen and those knives on the counter, i was thinking why am i getting a bad feeling, then BAM!! It was KATHERINE!!! "Hello John. Goodbye John" Then Elena walks in and it all turned to black, I screamed WHY!!!! I was so anxious to see S2 after that Finale. And Boy did Katherine make her entrance!
