That's something I've never quite understood from this show. Why does everyone that die turn into a zombie? Is it from exposure without infection or something?
At the end of the first season (revealed at the end of the second) a CDC scientist tells Rick that everybody is already infected with the virus/bacteria/parasite that turns people into walkers after they died. He doesn't explicitly say it, but it's clear that this applies not only to the core group, but to every living human (Shane, that old guy Milton was experimenting on, Milton himself, and Merle, for example don't get bitten, but turn after dying). Unless death is the result of trauma that destroys the brain, turning is inevitable; the only variable is the amount of time it will take.
Pigs also eat grass. Maybe the grass is contaminated because they buried the corpses of T-Dog, Axel and Andrea (and maybe Rick even buried the Walker who ate Lori's corpse)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Did the Walkers get in somehow or are they newly infected from that guy that died? I'm curious to see.
ReplyDeleteI bet some others get turned the same way he did. The sickness. I think its related to the sick animals, others are banking on the water supply.
ReplyDeleteand all hell breaks loose.....
ReplyDeleteOh that's all we need. Sick zombies.
ReplyDeleteYeah, all it takes is dying and they'll turn.
