Love is in the air at the CBI.
Let's start with Rigsby and Van Pelt. I was so happy for them. They finally reached their happy ending, after five years of on-and-off relationship.
The opening scene was one of the cutest in the episode. Rigsby wakes up and finds out that Grace is playing with his son, Ben. - how much did he grow up? - Those three are like family now. And finally, they revealed an important thing about relationship at work: agents can date. Life is too short to waste time, so Rigsby really started thinking about the idea of marriage, especially when the murder case involved a man killed during the preparations for a wedding. To reunite all the family and catch the killer, Lisbon suggests Rigsby to create a distraction during the cerimony. And what a distraction! I'm sure a marriage proposal wasn't exactly what Van Pelt expected to! Lisbon's face really touched me. She was surprised, but happy for them, and still even a little bit sad. Maybe she was looking into her life and dreaming about a future like that?
The episode also had some cute Jane and Lisbon moments. I liked the one in the office when he helped her with her jacked, and then lifted her hair behind her back. It's just me or those just are getting closer a little bit more? The personal space seemed disappeared.
Finally we got to know better Sceriff McAllister. Jane got the CBI to investigate in Napa Valley, so he could take a look at the Sceriff. Firsty, Lisbon noticed McAllister apparently seemed to have afraid of heights: he couldn't go upstairs, he couldn't watch the beautiful view outside the church. That was curious because later, when Jane was in danger and hung in the balance, he approaches with the help of a scale and gave him a hand.
Writer Daniel Cerone always reminds us this show is about a sorrow soul and his path to avenge his family by finding and killing the man who murdered them. Cerone had already described Patrick Jane's heart last season with Devil's Cherry. In this episode, when Jane looks at Van Pelt and Rigsby getting married and how they're so happily together, he smiles but cries. Surely, he's pleased, but I can say his thought went to his wife. Or as if he was wondering when happiness will come to knock again on his door.
I'll leave you with all those two gifs.
Did you enjoy the episode and the wedding? Can you say Sceriff McAllister is out of the suspects?

The Jisbon scene in the office was very cute <3
ReplyDeletenice review..
ReplyDeleteSheriff just came a good suspect of birds and possibly has a fear of birds i guess..
A very rounded off episode you get to see drama, action and romance in one..
And we saw jane and lisbon both in tears
Definitely one of the strongest of the series
I really liked all the Lisbon scenes in this episode - the Jisbon ones and the only Lisbon once, like when she nearly cried when Wayne proposed.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about the Sheriff though ...
I am not a shipper and I found case and the wedding on the boring side. Knw evil Wes was killer. :p Jane knew at the time I did.. It was good of writers no forced couply moments between Jane and Lisbon. Jane is not yet ready to move on look at his heartbreaking face as he heard the wedding and Lisbon is too unsettled with her own issues for him. I loved the horse carriage and did get caught up the last 2 minutes with nostalgia Jane/team. The old failed wedding dress an anvil? The hope is nice but can't be full of the purpose right?
ReplyDeleteBruno Heller said that there is a hidden clue in all these episodes. I think that hidden clue is the character of Ron (the bearded guy from the office). He appears in all the three episodes in the office and says hello to Jane as if it was a casual encounter. I thinks it's not a coincidence. I don't really know how is he involved in the Red John case, but I believe that character will be important.
ReplyDeleteWhy would they put those scenes in the episodes? Why would they pay an actor and waste playtime in those encounters?
sounds like a very special wedding episode!
ReplyDeleteJust like Blablah said, there is a man working at CBI, Ron, who appears in a lot of episodes, and not just in season 6 actually ! I think the show is trying to "condition" us :) , because every time they are talking about red john in the CBI's office, this guy appears ! I think it can't just be a random guy. And my theory about Red John after this episode (awesome BTW) : He is not ONE guy of the list, but all of them at once, (in the same time, sorry I'm french !). Crazy theory, but I'll wait and see... This show is genius !
ReplyDeleteI think there's much more about McAllister we don't know...
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't have a theory about Ron lol
