It seems to be a good move by the networks to me... If they renew a show early fans who may not have watched the first couple episodes out of cancellation fears can catch up quickly.
I wonder if this will fall as far as Revolution did during Season 1. Probably not since procedurals are usually more stable than serials. The ratings still do justify a full season order.
I may be nitpicking this, but with all due respect, the word "Renewal" refers to number of seasons, not number of episodes. A full season pickup isn't a "renewal" by that logic. But anyways, it's good news :)
I approve. Blacklist's success is good news for NBC. They seem to be on solid ground on Mondays and Tuesdays. Now if only they could do something about Wednesdays and Thursdays.
I doubt it.Part of Revolutions downfall was they didn't know what story they wanted to tell.Add that to an extremely long hiatus last year, change in day and time and BOOM!
I agree. They had execution problems and philosophically seemed uncertain where they wanted to go/what they wanted to show to be, but all in all I do think they have decant foundation to build off of now, as I think once we got to mid season it blossomed a bit and then I think it had a pretty solid season ending. I was originally skeptical when they wanted to move it and the fact they put with crime dramas. All I hope is that they move it to Friday before they decide to axe it. I am enjoying this season so much more. I just wish it would level out instead of slowly dropping...
And most importantly the writers can go ahead with the writing without thinking about the show ending (or not) at episode 1.13. I doubt they're already writing episode 13 now, so by renewing it this early, the season can and will seem seamless, and plot twists / major developments can happen in episode 1.15 if they need to happen then.
I only wish this was the first season,i'm loving it! I hope that word of mouth about this season brings back old, and new viewers, before its too late?
Wed. night it was trending on twitter,#Aaronlives, hopefully it will have an impact the way Fringe did..Fridays would be great, especially if it follows Grimm!
Expected i didnt wanna watch the show but i did i i really like it! I just wondering if they move it after the voice ends will the ratings decrease just as RV ratings decreased this season¿?
Awesome, The Blacklist, SHIELD, and Sleepy Hallow are my top 3 this season. With The Blacklist I get mysterious connection between main character, and BadAss Red!, with SHIELD I get see Coulson and scifi,hero,Earth616 world; and with Sleepy Hollow, I get the Awesome Crane, Witch wife, and the supernatural world. too much good stuff this season.

Fantastic news ! I love this show already !!
ReplyDeleteDamn, the networks have been moving fast these past two days.
ReplyDeleteGreat news for the fans!
Woohoo!!! This show is so awesome and James Spader is brilliant in it.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise here.
ReplyDeleteSpaderific news!
ReplyDeleteSure the show has its flaws, but it is the most watchable new show of the Fall season to me.
I love it so far but I fear Megan Boone will be a weak link in the long run.
ReplyDeleteyes love this show best new drama beside Sleepy Hollow
ReplyDeleteSo far this is my second favorite new drama of the fall (behind Sleepy Hollow)...so stoked both of them have been renewed!
ReplyDeleteSeeing that they planned on airing it after The Voice, NBC might as well have given it the back order before any episodes aired.
ReplyDeleteThe Blacklist hasn't been "renewed", it just got a full season.

Well I meant renewed in some form or another, that's all. I would consider a back-nine a renewal, of sorts at least. :)

ReplyDeleteWith its audience, this is no surprise. Happy for NBC, it has finally found a rock-solid brand-new show!

ReplyDeleteMore James Spader on my TV,hell yeah!!!!

ReplyDeleteCool, really enjoying this show. I just hope they don't go the obvious route of "I am your father".
ReplyDeleteWas too busy chasing The Simpsons and they both got away!
ReplyDeletePut "The Voice" on those days too.

ReplyDeleteEvery time I forget about the cancellation bear...there you are.
ReplyDeleteI have to remind you all of my power every once in a while. But soon I'll be making a lot more appearances.

ReplyDeleteNo worries!
ReplyDeletethis is just the first half of the 22-episode season. It will restart some time after the Olympics end on February 23.
