"Supernatural's" Winchester boys are about to meet one very unique young woman later this month on The CW series -- Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz."
"We find out that Dorothy's kind of been trapped in the Men of Letters bunker for a long, long, long time and accidentally she is set free, but so is the witch," Jared Padalecki told a group of reporters, after Warner Bros. flew AccessHollywood.com up to the show's Vancouver set where they made us their guest recently as the boys dished on Season 9.
"So we have them running around our bunker and we have to employ the help of kind of the coolest computer nerd we know to help us try and figure out what happened and how we can figure out more details on it," Jared continued of the "Slumber Party" episode, referring to Charlie, a character played by the returning Felicia Day.
The appearance of Dorothy, the famous character from L. Frank Baum's book (and the 1939 film) into the "Supernatural" storyline for this one-off episode airing on October 29, will produce a myriad of reactions, Jared and Jensen told reporters.

Not a Charlie fan, but the pictures from the ep look awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love this show! Loved the kooky motels, but the bunker set is brilliant. Looking forward to seeing different rooms and levels and now Baby has her own warm dry home. Season 9 has started off with a bang!
ReplyDeleteI've come around a little bit on Charlie since the last episode she was in. I still think her gamer chick persona is a little bit over the top but I liked what they did with her character development with the story about her mom and how she became the way that she is. Hopefully they'll tone down the "OMG, I'm a nerd/gamer" persona a bit with her and let us see more of her actual personality.
ReplyDeleteJared said in an interview that Sam will be confiding some things to Dorothy that he would never tell Dean, Kevin, Cas, Charlie, etc. so I think that's what he was getting at. He also said at TorCon that the reason why we never see Sam connecting with characters other than Dean is because he has a fear of letting people down. So presumably he opens up to Dorothy because he knows she's not going to stick around long. It's kind of a sad peek into how Sam thinks if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteahhhh yet another 'Wizard of Oz" theme in a show, but at least with SPN, it will be just for an ep... lol should be fun
