  6. Starting to feel like it could all be a bit overkill with all the new angels, seems like Sam and Dean are being crammed into a mythology storyline that is too much for them with very little to convince me that they are central to the plot and considering how the heavy mythology has overtaken the show in previous season leavingthe Winchesters as bystanders. Hope I'm wrong but so far the spoilers indicate their are too many different storylines going on.

I am a bit worried about the different storylines too ... And I know we need to have more characters than Sam and Dean of course but I HATE IT when the story is not focused on them :S

  10. The apocalypse storyline was big too, but at least the "vessel" story kept the boys in the center of it. This one has nothing to do that. I am trying to keep an open mind until I see it all, but I really have alot more doubt than faith in them at this point.
So far there's Cas, Crowley, Abaddon, Ezekiel, Metatron, this Malachi, and at least two other "recurrings"...

  11. TVmonkey, ZoeF, ElenaW - Carver/Singer said upfront that there would be more B&C storylines this season and recurring characters would be used more .What we may interpret from this ^^^ is that the Js asked for a less screentime overall, particularly in the "back 9 (10) when MC will have more episode appearances. SPN *might* have more of an 'ensemble-like' feel without adding any recurring regulars like MC.

***ZoeF: So far there's Cas, Crowley, Abaddon, Ezekiel, Metatron, this Malachi, and at least two other "recurrings"***
I'll add .Kevin and Charlie (even though Charlie is mentioned in only ep so far, I'm certain the show plans for more FD appearances post 9.09).
Best hope is that SPN still considers "what effects Sam and Dean" the A storyline in most episodes in S9+ and "what happens with/to the demons/angels the B&C storylines - just as in S1-S5 the "Supernatural' was just a backdrop to frame the Winchesters (and I'll add.Cas's in S9) "stories" in. Crosses Fingers. I'm pretty sure the Winchesters/Cas and Kevin will be involved in some way in getting the angels back in Heaven - I just have no spec When.

  12. The Angels are on the same Level as the boys i like to see any of the angels take on the brothers. The boys gotta be 10 time stronger and could beat any of them in a fight so this Malachi is in for something. But i like the title of the episode.

  13. Cooooooooooool.

No, there not. They still have all of their powers except for teleporting because their wings deflagrated while they fell to Earth.

I agree with everything but I have 1 question.I do not recall seeing anywhere or at any time the Js asking less screen time.I have read no such thing.Where did you see this?

  16. I'm sorry. What I implied about J2 wanting 'less screentime' in 'S9 - beyond' IS pure speculation.
I don't want to ever have another episode like "Bitten" inflicted on me but I do *think* Carver/Singer do intend to devote more 'face time' to the B&C storylines this season and in 'every' ep -that S-D don't have the "A" sl - if any - that could translate into less screen time for "J2" (intentionally lumping them together so as not to start a "VS War").
MC is a regular again and what has been spoiled so far in the 'front 9 episodes' is that Cas will have his own metaphorical demons to wrangle and his sl (thru S9.09 at least) will not orbit around S/D's sls - much like 'Cas's War in Heaven' sl S6 except I expect Cas's sl to take place mostly 'onscreen'. Cas *is likely* to have the "A" sl at least in some eps of S9.

  17. The only thing that I've heard about them asking for time off is Jared in December when Genevieve is due. But I think that actually might fall into a scheduled hiatus anyway, so I don't think it means we'll be seeing less of Sam. Or at least I don't hope we do.

As for B and C characters, we already know that Misha is a series regular again so we'll be seeing more Cas. Of course more Kevin with him being at the bunker now. Crowley will be featured more prominently, as will Abaddon. Charlie is in at least 1 episode that we know of, possibility for more. Garth I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing at least once, and Jody will be in at least one episode that I know of as well.

AFAIK the guys will still be the central focus, the other characters will revolve around them - with the exception of Cas' storyline, which will be separate from the Winchesters for most of the early episodes. Jared and Jensen have both said that the brothers are still the main focus of the show and will be a united front this season. All good things.

  18. Wasn't this storyline already done in season 6 with Raphael vs. Castiel? Please be better than that.

  19. There's also going to be more Kevin, Charlie, some chick named Nora and her kid and Cas' love interest in there too. I think her name is April. Garth and Jody will show up at least once this season, too.

  20. This Malachi dude sounds a bit like Uriel and Raphiel in wanting the other angels to join them or die IMO. As for so many new characters in S9 i dont know if thats a good or bad thing , i dont want to see Sam and Dean pushed to the side in favour of these new characters , I just hope they interact with these new characters and be less codependant on each other and make friends, i also hope we get Castiel reunited permantley with Sam and Dean in mid season because i love it when all three are together. Saying all that ill now just sit back and watch season 9 next week and hope it knocks S6 7 8 out of the park

  21. It will not have to be very good to beat season 8. ;)

  22. You mean the storyline where most of the 'war' happened off-screen? Granted, it's kinda difficult for a TV show to portray a large-scale war, especially one between beings that are super-powered. Nevertheless, I remember being a little disappointed by the civil war in season 6. We saw the beginning and the conclusion but the in-between bits? Not so much. We had a few stray offshoots with Balthazar and Rachel but that was like getting a sneak peek of something that wasn't central to the conflict. I kinda wanted to see more, how the angels were divided into factions and how their infighting could have a negative effect on everything else. What we're hearing here has the potential for that so I guess it's just a matter of keeping our fingers crossed?

  23. I thought they already had an angel nemesis in Bart.
