FOX AWAKENS SEASON TWO OF HIT DRAMA SERIES “SLEEPY HOLLOW”

Premiere Episode Surpasses 22 Million Viewers Across Platforms

Next All-New Episode Airs Monday, October 7, on FOX

FOX will delve into a second season of the hit action/adventure series SLEEPY HOLLOW, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

“The show has proven to be a risk well worth taking – it’s a conceptual blast unlike anything else on television and it all holds together with inventive writing and a fantastic cast,” said Reilly. “I can’t wait for fans to experience what else is in store for this fall and even more of this wild ride into Season Two.”

The series premiere of SLEEPY HOLLOW earned a 5.0/13 rating among Adults 18-49 and drew 13.6 million viewers after three additional days of time-shifted viewing, making it FOX’s most successful fall drama premiere since the debut of “24” in November 2001. In fact, with its encore, post-three-day playback on DVR and VOD, and its streaming on www.Fox.com and www.Hulu.com, the series premiere of SLEEPY HOLLOW has already drawn an audience of more than 22 million. In Week Three, SLEEPY HOLLOW showed increasing retention, delivering a 3.0/8 rating and holding 97% of the prior week's Adults 18-49 delivery.

In the next all-new episode of SLEEPY HOLLOW, “The Lesser Key of Solomon,” airing Monday, Oct. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) search for Abbie’s estranged sister, Jenny (guest star Lyndie Greenwood), who has escaped from a Sleepy Hollow psychiatric hospital. In a game-changing episode, which includes flashbacks to the real Boston Tea Party, Abbie and Ichabod discover more about the evil they are facing.

SLEEPY HOLLOW is a thrilling mystery-adventure drama series spanning two and a half centuries, in which a resurrected Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) pairs up with a present-day police lieutenant (Nicole Beharie) to save the enigmatic town of Sleepy Hollow – and the world – from unprecedented evil.

  1. Second season or a back 9? Because back 9 seems more likely...

  2. Cool ! Creatively speaking, I'm glad it's a second season instead of a back-9 order. Besides Masters of Sex, this is my favorite new drama of the fall.

  3. do we know how many episodes will be in season 1?

    ReplyDelete
  4. great news. really liking the show

  5. Season 2. For some reason, it looks like FOX went for an overall season renewal instead of a back 9. Would have been cool if they had done both in one day though. :)

    ReplyDelete
  6. That was fast and only after 3 episodes too.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Woohoo, very exciting news!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Wow, that's so fast! Yay, congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Looking at other sites it seems like there will be no back 9 because the timeslot is going to The Following in Jan. Seems a weird choice but at least more eps will be coming at some point

    ReplyDelete
  10. Which is weird because the show has a huge hiatus after ep 6 .

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm glad, but that slims Bones' chances for a 10th and final season. :(

    ReplyDelete
  12. Does it? Damn Fox are getting way too confident if they end up having huge breaks there is no guarantee the ratings won't fall it has happened with many shows before.

    ReplyDelete
  13. It doesn't come as a surprise considering the ratings. That being said, I'm a bit surprised as it was so fast! Very exciting news though!

    ReplyDelete
  14. that is great news. so fast. i have been loving this show!

    ReplyDelete
  15. It has to get that syndication money, Bunky!

    ReplyDelete
  16. don't get me wrong but i really don't understand why that slims bones' chances? they still can get renewed for final season (which i'm 70-75 percent sure about that already) if i were you i wouldn't be worry about that much :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. And surprising. I knew it was doing well and, at least considering tumblr, gaining a lot of fans, but a brand new show renewed after the third episode? Impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  18. that was quick , well deserved in my opinion great show!

    ReplyDelete
  19. They don't have a choice.. football. The show is supposed to have a two weeks hiatus after October 14.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Apparently, Fox took the ABC scheduling course last year and decided to do stupid things with its shows.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Holy shit, that was quick!

    ReplyDelete
  22. First renewal of this season and a worthy one :) I love this show.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Fastest renewal in broadcast network ever! Happy for the show, but.... quite shock it came this fast!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sports! Damn sports ruining it all.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I like the idea of network execs going on really bad TV courses it would explain the state of TV

    ReplyDelete
  26. Amazing!
I don't know how the episodes will play out in the rest of the season, but I really hope we will see John Noble in the next season as well. Also, fingers crossed for them to hold their ratings steady.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow, already?! Awesome! That was fast.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's the only thing that attract the "young male demo" in large numbers...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Holy crap!! Its only been three episodes! This is AMAZING!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I know they're not really related, and I'm more than likely getting
ahead of myself, but with Sleepy Hollow renewed (and presuming The
Following gets renewed as well) and knowing that Fox will probably pick
up at least 1 drama pilot for next fall it really doesn't leave much
room. Especially if Almost Human does well, too, and you add in the
comedies and reality shows. That's all I was getting at.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yup, I don't get how they can show all 13 by Jan at this rate

    ReplyDelete
  32. Excellent news. I must admit I wasn't going to watch the show based on the previews that I had seen before it aird but I was bored one night and it was on so decided to check it out and am glad I did. I think this show better suits the fall/Halloween period, so the 13 episodes per season makes sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wauw, good for your guys, that are still watching. That was really quick.
Sadly it not really my kind of show.

    ReplyDelete
  34. YEEEEEEEEEEES :D Me happy now :D VERY HAPPY !!!

I'll admit though i am one of those people who judged the show before it even aired, because i was so protective of the movie, and thought that it was bad idea to make it into a tv-show,but goddamnit they MOST definitely PROVED ME WRONG,and i am so glad they did :)

3 episodes in? YESSIR. I love it. Congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Excellent news.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow! Does this ever happen on Network TV? Thank You Again FOX!!!! XD

    ReplyDelete
  38. It was Revolution's course on NBC as well.

    ReplyDelete
  39. that's great news, but I hope its also full season if not i guess its gonna be 13 episode seasons like the following.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Season 01 has 13 episodes, and Season 02 will also have 13 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Actually Fox will air the MLB World Series like they always every year

    ReplyDelete
  42. very happy to hear this and also happy to hear that they'll stick to the 13 episodes per season. less "fillers" and more to the point story telling.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Seems Fox is doing what they said there out to do lol That's keeping any new series if it's successful as a limited series for that way it will make ppl want the show more instead of doing 22 eps and then getting cancelled during season 2 or after for lack of writing and direction lol

This way is better seeing as Sleepy Hollow can go as far as the story telling can be told with only 13 eps each season

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nice! I'm glad to hear it and I also have to watch the latest episode tho breaking bad on Netflix has caught me off guard. :p

    ReplyDelete
  45. I highly doubt that. If there's one thing every broadcast network yearns for and wants more than anything is a successful crime franchise and a medical franchise. They don't have a hit medical series anymore, Bones still does well, I think they'll give it a final season and try to launch a big procedural next season, unless they just decide to focus on serialized shows with shorter seasons, but it's hard to imagine them NOT launching a fall procedural soon.

    ReplyDelete
  46. HELL YES. I read this right when I woke up this morning and I instantly had energy for work. How exciting. I had a good feeling I shouldn't worry about this show anytime soon...it's so weird that such an occult-heavy show on FOX is having so much success but you're not seeing me complain! W00T! I can officially feel like I can call this my almost-favorite show.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Good! I'm enjoying Sleepy Hollow!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thank you Fox I was apprehensive about starting any new shows this season. I broke my rule and watched this show and yessssssssssssssssssss a second season !!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Kevin Reilly must love this show!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm so happy. It's definitely a hit. Can't wait to see more.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Fuck yes! I am so happy about this. And I really like that both seasons are only going to be thirteen episodes. Seems like a good plan.

    ReplyDelete
  52. This makes me happy - maybe they will have enough time to find him some new clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  53. If any new show deserves it, its Sleppy Hollow. Congratulations to cast and crew!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Yup, they have the same breaks in their schedule every year.
I got no idea what MLB is though as I'm not a sports person, heh.

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's not just that, Sleepy Hollow has a certain charm to it that might go awry if there are too many episodes per season. It's not the standard genre show imo.
I think they can keep that charm and keep the horsemen around for longer if they have only 13 episodes per season compared to 22, and in the long run, shorter seasons can help the show get to 7 seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yes! It's great news! I hope the series gets sold to international markets and gets even wider publicity!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Major League Baseball lol

    ReplyDelete
  58. I just love this show!
Great blend of humor and mystery and good chemistry between the leads

    ReplyDelete
  59. oops i guess no back 9 then :( but happy about the renewal only new drama i am definitely going to keep watching so far

    ReplyDelete
  60. Glad to hear, but this is very early. It would be interesting to see how Alcatraz did ratings-wise at this same time in the year. If I'm remembering correctly it wasn't too far off from Sleepy Hollow's ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. That was fast, But it`s understandable the show is doing great in ratings

    ReplyDelete
  63. this is great, one of the best new show.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hell yeah! That was fast! Awesomeee!

    ReplyDelete
  65. not a a surprise as it's been doing well, but awesome news for sure!
