ROTW - The Most Shocking/Surprising TV Series Finales

Oct 12, 2013

Hey All,

We're introducing a new weekly feature here at SpoilerTV in association with Ranker.

Each week we hope to post an interesting discussion topic that allows you to rank all the options provided as well as allowing you to enter your own options if you think it's relevant.

Below is the ranking widget which allows you to select the options that you like (Thumbs up) and to downvote those you don't (Thumbs down). There is also the option to add your own selection, it's the large blue "Add It" button.

So for our first "Rank of the Week", we're asking you to rank "The Most Shocking/Surprising TV Series Finales"

So use the widget below to select your Thumbs Ups and Thumbs downs. If you have no opinion on one of the options, you simply don't select either Thumb. And don't forget to let us know which ones you selected in the comments below.

We hope you enjoy this feature.

    I voted Breaking Bad

  2. why is GoT on the list if it is not a finished series?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Why is Game of Thrones on the list? This is for tv show that ended, right?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I thought this poll was like series finales but GOT is there is that a mistake?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Someone added it. We'll get it removed.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I absolutely love this new feature! Definitely one of my favorites.

Thumbs up: LOST and Breaking Bad
    Thumbs down: Dexter

    ReplyDelete
  7. of all those i just watched Lost so i voted up for it.... cool feature!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Thanks, we hope people like it :)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  10. Interesting feature..love it.

Voted a thumbs up for Desperate Housewives, miss that show! Mid-way through Lost for the first time..waiting to see how it ends!

  11. Thumbs Up: Breaking Bad

    Thumbs Down: The Sopranos

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm trying to add Fringe, but it's not staying on the list. I add it and it goes on, but then I reload the page and it's gone off the list...

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think there may be a delay as it's probably quite busy currently.

Give it a few mins and hopefully it will appear.

    ReplyDelete
  14. why did you remove Magnum pi, witch i added ? :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. The Shield thumb up :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I added Friends, why did it get removed?

    ReplyDelete
  17. i added magnum pi, it was also removed :(

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yep you were right, just had to give it time to appear.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I haven't watched a single one of these series finale, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  20. There is a delay between adding one and it appearing. Give it 5 mins and hit refresh. It seems the servers are very busy

    ReplyDelete
  21. It will take a few minutes for it to appear on the list. Probably a lot of people adding shows at the same time so it's slowing down.

    ReplyDelete
  22. how about magnum pi ? :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Where is House?!

    ReplyDelete
  24. The list is not sorted properly for me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Great feature!! I voted for Lost, Breaking Bad, Fringe and Six Feet Under..

    ReplyDelete
  26. ok :) but it did appear on the list and then it was gone. so it was on the list. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Twin peaks has the most shocking ending I've ever seen ! The last seconds are just... just... AWWWWWWWWWWWWW !

    ReplyDelete
  28. It seems to be a bit laggy sometimes, but it should eventually rank them correctly. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yep, the Ranker developers will be releasing an update that will make the lists sort instantly very soon (within the hour).

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Thunder_Road_Rock Did you read the instructions?

    ReplyDelete
  31. It should be added instantly.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes we know, as I said the server is busy.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Lost, Breaking Bad, Fringe. Added Battlestar Galactica (2004)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah I don't think it's correct for me either, since it's showing for me that Fringe has 20 ups, and only 4 downs but it's all the way towards the bottom. Doesn't seem right.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It appeared only for you at that time as were the one who added it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. yep i see it now :) thanks, i have to admit i am a little impatient :) hehe

    ReplyDelete
  37. ok, thanks anyway but i see it now :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. so do I vote thumbs up if I liked the ending or if it shocked me ?

    ReplyDelete
  39. i tried too add it but when i wrote angel i didnt find it ( i dont mean on this list but the list that you have to search tv show after pressing add it, i didnt find it on that list)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think that means someone already added it and it will show on the list soon.

    ReplyDelete
  41. If it can't find your show, at the bottom of the popup will be a button to add it manually.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I added Scrubs. It didn't have a shocking or surprising series finale [season 8 finale is the real series finale for Scrubs fans] but it was hugely satisfying and moving.

    ReplyDelete
  43. when i vrote angel, the results where angelina jolie and jessica alba and other persons

    ReplyDelete
  44. You should still see a button at the bottom like in this example.

    ReplyDelete
  45. when i press create item, nothing happens.

    ReplyDelete
  46. ok, but it is on the list now :) so no worry, love shocking series finales so much.

    ReplyDelete
  47. What was shocking about the Breaking Bad finale? It went pretty much how everyone expected :s

The Shield was far more shocking, if only for Shane's final scenes.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Love this poll!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Go Friends!
Erika having twins was really surprising, though everyone knew that Ross and Rachel would get back together. The foosball table being busted by Monica was also surprising.

    ReplyDelete
  50. As much as I liked BrBa, there is no way I can not vote for The Sopranos. Out of nowhere, cut to black, the end. What's more surprising than that?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think Breaking Bad's finale had some scenes that were predictable, and some scenes that were unpredictable.

    ReplyDelete
  52. You could upvote every show on the list if you wanted to, there's no limit to the voting.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think the reason it's so high on the list is probably because the it's finale was the most recent one out of the whole list of shows, so it's fresher in peoples minds.

    ReplyDelete
  54. What shocked and surprised me was NBC cancelling Life On Mars.Couldn't they make a 2 hour movie of the week so we could find out who the hell killed his wife? LoL,that annoyed me to no end..

The ending of Fringe didn't shock or surprise me,i was expecting that to happen. It just gutted me,and to this day i cannot talk about it that's how hard i took the show ending.I'm still in mourning.

Mash not only shocked me it depressed the hell out of me,and i cried so hard for Henry.

I'm not even sure if i fully understand (I think i do but?) everything in LOST? It seems everytime i rewatch I get hit with something i didn't see the last time...I love Lost..

And the Sopranos definitely shocked and surprised me.My cousin was in the Sopranos and he told me i would be shocked but i wasn't expecting them to BOOM,cut to black! Great freaking show!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. LOST, Breaking Bad, House and Life on Mars

    ReplyDelete
  56. yep i love The Sopranos, r.i.p james Gandolfini :(

    ReplyDelete
  57. Can you only add if you log in with your G, FB or Twitter account?? Can't you create an extra account for Ranker? I don't want to use my FB account (the others I don't have) but I would like to add Chuck!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Should not need any account to add to the list

    ReplyDelete
  59. My selections: Damages, Breaking Bad, Veronica Mars, Fringe.
Damages for me is probably the series the had the best finales every season...even a subpar season paid off immensely in unbelievable ways and always left me in awe of what had just happened...

I feel this question works against BrBa in the sense that their huge moments and their crazy twists don't mostly take place in finales so much as whenever it organically fits in the story (see "Ozymandias").

    ReplyDelete
  60. I was surprised by Fringe - I thought that they would have found someway to keep Walter in their time period. But it made sense that Walter had to disappear - because otherwise they still could have kept fighting Fringe events. The rest of it wasn't all that shocking.

    ReplyDelete
  61. did you write your cousin was in the, show ?, is he a big actor ?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yes,my cousin was in the show,he played Carlo Gervasi. He has been in a lot of shows and movies if you mean is he a famous actor like a Brad Pitt, then i would say no.

    ReplyDelete
  63. yes i meant that :) so it is cool to have an cousin who play in tv shows? :) it would be a big dream of mine to have an role in a tv show, that would be verry cool.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Him?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_J._Nascarella

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thumbs up Breaking Bad!

    ReplyDelete
  66. yes I saw that - just seconds after my post ;)

    ReplyDelete
  67. you are so lucky to have an family member who is an actor, it would be so awesome to have my name on the screen after the word, starring or guest starring

    ReplyDelete
  68. Are we just to vote for one of each (most/least) or can we vote for a couple of them we found shocking?

    I voted for LOST.

    ReplyDelete
  69. You can only thumb or down once for each entry

    ReplyDelete
  70. Very interesting feature :) I added Burn Notice

    ReplyDelete
  71. And Leverage, Sanctuary and Eureka... Tried adding The Pretender but could not be found or created :(

    ReplyDelete
  72. There are some show that I adore in there, but really didn't have a surprising ending; still feels like a small betrayal disagreeing lol.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Really cool feature! :D
Your site just keeps getting better!! :) love it

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm really confused by the current poll results. If this was a ranker for "favorite" series finales, it would make more sense to me. But since it's a ranker for "most surprising/shocking" instead, I don't understand how Breaking Bad is as high as it is or Dexter is as low as it is, for example. Yeah, Breaking Bad's finale was great and Dexter's was kind of terrible, but Breaking Bad's was extremely safe and predictable. Dexter's was easily more shocking, and not in a good way (though the ranker isn't asking us to distinguish between a good shock and a bad one).

    ReplyDelete
  75. Added: The West Wing, Alias, Leverage, Eureka, and Persons Unknown :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think most people are ignoring the "most surprising/shocking" part and just voting for shows they like.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I don't know what happened when you added them but they didn't show up on the list so i put them in and now they are on the board.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Fun, but my goodness several series where I don't remember the finales let alone how I felt about them. Fun feature though!

    ReplyDelete
  79. They still aren't showing up for me.

    ReplyDelete
  80. With the extra miniseries they added i think it ended perfectly. The only thing I would have loved would have been to focus a bit more on earth.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Lost, Fringe and Chuck (that beach scene was sad and shocking for me).

Breaking Bad was great and correct, but not shocking or surprising.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Well guess what? I can't see them now either! I tried 3 different Browsers and i don't see them see on any of browsers. Maybe DarkUFO will know tomorrow,i don't believe he is around right now.... :/

    ReplyDelete
  83. Maybe the list can only hold a maximum of 50 shows or something, who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Yep,don't know why? Till tomorrow,lol..

    ReplyDelete
  85. Fringe was shocking and great, Dexter was shocking in how terrible it was; and Chuck was surprising not only how it ended (although I did enjoy the ending), but also in how emotionally it resonated with me. (The beach scene gets me every time.)
