This episode was all about Rick for me! I think I was like many who literally cheered when Rick strapped on his gun.
Another very deep moment was the bro-bonding when Dayrl gave Rick the pep talk. I loved the father/ son bonding scenes as well as Rick's plan to use the pigs to their advantage instead of just killing them. (Sorry PETA.. Well, not really)
Michonne starting to cry when she held Judith. When Beth started to talk about how there are orphans & widows but no term for parents who lost their child, I had a sneaky suspicion that Michonna was once a mother but when she actually started crying - it was a powerful moment and completely caught me off guard. Michonne's hard exterior starts to peel off and the audience gets to see a mother who never had the chance to properly grieve over the loss of her child.
Yep. Definitely cheering at my house too! I love the relationship between Rick and Daryl and I love how the relationship between Carl and Rick has developed. I thought they made sure the injured pigs looked pretty fake (as they often do with animals - I'm sure they could make them look more realistic) so people would know no real pigs had been injured...
Man, tough one--as the vote distribution confirms! What a strong episode, with many great moments. I went for Carol doing the hard work when ... is her name Lizzie? couldn't, but there are a lot of other storng contenders, with the pig sacrifice being a close second for me. Anyone else thing Lizzie's the loon who's been feeding the walkers rat hors d'oeuvres?
Many to choose from. Rick and the pigs broke my heart. Beautiful work from the beautiful Andrew Lincoln.
Another I liked was Glenn watching Maggie, taking the photo of her, and then her wanting him to get rid of it. The scenes were warm and loving and natural, something that the show has sort of left behind at times with all the angst they pile on Glenn and Maggie.
I absolutely loved the intro scene with Karen making her way back to D block, with viewers having no idea if she would be killed at any given moment.
There were so many good ones. I could vote for a lot of them but I voted for three: 1)Clean up the cell block - classic walking dead awesomeness and chaotic scene when everything can happen; 2)Rick sacrifices the pigs - walking dead character development at its best and rick grimes continues to rock and 3) Rick gives Carl his gun back and straps on his own - see 2) with the added bonus of Rick-Carl relationship here. I love this show
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite scene also.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely another good scene! I couldn't fit them all in - but this was definitely on the very short list.

ReplyDeleteYeah, that was a great scene too, I love how we're seeing more sides to Michonne this season.

I chose Rick giving Carl his gun back and picking up his own! That was the end of Rick's brief period of happiness in a ZA. Poor Rick!
ReplyDeleteThe pig scene was sad for the same reason!

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure those were real pigs, they just weren't really cutting them.
