OH NO, "Serial Carol" is on the loose in the prison! The Governor, the "OutBreak", and now this. There's a whole lot of bad coming and no light in the tunnel to be seen yet. This season is starting off very good! 4 THE DEAD TO KEEP WALKING, I am Nobody!!!
Carol admitted to killing them, but she didn't say if they had already turned, and judging from Karen's blood all over in the cell, it's possible they had turned and Carole was just doing what she had to do.
They better not kill Glen off!
I'm not really sure where they are going with this story. Just taking out alot of the cast. I was kind of hoping they would have moved from the prison by now.
interesting turn for Carol... I knew something was amiss when she really had a hard time paying her respects to Karen/David when Rick suggested it and reinforced it when she was talking to Tyreese... it will be interesting to see how the writers will explain this one out as up to now, I"ve liked the new-ish Carol... I'm still trying to figure out how Rick put it together, that isn't clear to me as yet... I hope that this doesn't signal the beginning of the end for yet another original character.... I hope that they will all make it through before the Governor shows up.....
Carol is just trying to keep her group alive, she's being realist, and after realizing what happened to Patrick, she made the decision of not letting the situation get out of hand by getting her hands dirty.
I loved Hershel here. He is one of my favorite characters, he never looses faith.
The episode showed enough early on that Carol wasn't a big surprise. Figured it was either her or the two girls, but was leaning towards Carol for most of the episode. At any rate, hopefully we get more of an explanation of it next week. Tyreese was right when he said Carol was the one who cares, so I'm thinking Carol found the 2 either dead before they turned or after they turned.
Rest of the episode also continued this season's solid story telling, not forsaking it for gruesome zombie kills. We get both now! Tyreese got his similar-to-his-comics moment where he took on a huge group of zombies and survived.
Curious when the Governor will show up again, I still think Bob (?) is the mole within the prison.
I think this is the part where they make Carol unlikable. The Walking Dead always has that one female character that fills that void. Lori was first, then after the killed her they had Andrea fill that role, and now that she's dead its Carol's turn.
While I would gladly see Carol dead, I fear that if she dies the next female characters the writers decide to make unlikable will be Maggie or Michonne, who I love.
I wouldn't say they're trying to make Carol unlikable. Obviously she's conflicted about what she did, given how she freaked out on the water containers, and I think we as viewers are supposed to be conflicted too. While what she did can be said was cruel and cold, like Tyreese said, Carol is the one who cares, and it can be argued she was trying to protect the rest of the people in the prison (aka the people she cares about). Plus we don't know the full story, the 2 people could've already died and even had turned into zombies already. I think/hope next week we'll get more of an explanation from her about it.
I really enjoy this season so far, and Hershel was amazing this episode. Didn't see the Carol twist coming but I understand where she's coming from. Now I just hope they don't kill off Glenn, although I doubt they would. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking because he's my favorite.
My DVR cut off at the very end, where Rick says to Carol, "That was a stupid thing you did." Then, nothing. But I get from the comments here what happened after that. Anyway, excellent episode that kept up the tension. It will be too bad if we find out Karen was alive and here the crew is returning with a cure.
That was quite a crowd of zombies. I hope that beat-up car makes it all the way there and back.
It kind of entered my mind, but then I dismissed it. There was only a small group around Karen when she was coughing and said David was sick, so only a few, including Carol, knew.
If they were already dead and/or turned there would have been no need for all the secrecy and deception. She murdered two people, lied about it, and only isn't going to do it again because now people she personally cares about are sick like Glenn and the little girl.
My guess is that The Governor will show up by the end of next weeks episode. He was bought up in conversation twice in this episode and I´m guessing that is because we will see him soon. Maybe he will run into Daryl´s group?!
I liked previous episode better, but this one was really good too. I felt like I'm getting infected just by watching them and breathing.
I couldn't believe Carol is the killer. When she had that little breakdown I thought it's because everyone's expecting of her to look after others and it was too much for her. I didn't see that coming.
Awesome episode, this season is kicking ass. I like all storylines. I am not sure I like Ty, I don't think I do, he is too primitive to me, I dunno. I find no complexity with his character, just very strange primal instincts like fighting, shouting and getting enraged, I dunno. They need to develop him more but I think they will do it moving forward. Hershell was awesome on this episode and so was Rick, as usual. Michonne and and Daryl's partnership was great to watch. Now... Carol... I got very suspicious on her breakdown scene. The thing is, as shocked as I was, I still felt that it made a lot of sense character wise. It was 100% organic with where the character was and it tied very nicely with her sending in the little girl to the quarantined zone just because it was what had to be done. I love how they are developing her character. Another character who is also having a very interesting development is Beth, I like how far she has come from the girl who tried to kill herself back in the farm. Great stuff!
I don't think anyone truly is safe here. Glenn and Maggie have been too happy lately so I doubt we can rule out them killing one of them. I think one of the originals (or, at least, one of the Season 2 guys) will be killed during this season. I like Glenn, but I would rather have him go than Maggie, I love Maggie.
Well, Carol is certainly not unlikable to me. Complex, yes, certainly, but I understand where she is coming from and felt it was very organic to the character.
I think having them already be dead would be a very lame cop-out and one the show doesn't even need. It would make it all meaningless, I hope they don't go down that route. I doubt they will.
I think he added it up. There weren't that many people aware that they were locked up and he realized when Carol went outside that she was willing to do whatever it took. This show is such a joy to watch in terms of character progression, I love it!
I doubt (and I hope) they go down that route with Carol. What would be the point in hiding it then? There would be no big deal about it, anyone would have killed them.
True, it becomes a bigger moral dilemma, for both Carol for doing the act and for us as the audience in siding with or against Carol. I was just trying to think of possible explanations for it.
At any rate, I don't think this whole thing is necessarily trying to make Carol seem unlikable by her actions. A lot of thought went into this, and it's supposed to be a moral gray area. It'll be interesting to see the repercussions of both the deed and Rick's awareness of Carol doing the deed.
I don't think the little girl really is sick. She was sent in there by Carol. she is Carol's little apprentice and has been sent in there to kill the sick people.
Great twist with Carol. She's always been one of the characters I've moaned about for being too boring. Last season she was starting to be more interesting. Now she's got a proper arc, and they've done something really intriguing with her character, but this new dark Carol will almost certainly spell the end for her this season :(
I think the little girl is kind of her apprentice. She wasn't really ill, but Carol sent her in there to do "the right thing" and put the sick people out of their misery.
The scenes with Hershel and Carl were brilliant. I really love Carl now.
The water! why has nobody else realised that it is the water causing the illness? I said it last week and it was the same this week. the directors are spending a lot of screen time on water butts and hose pipes and pumps and shower heads. Hershel seemed close to getting it at one point, but never really expanded on it. He did say "you drink water, you risk your life" in his little speech, but no one seems to have realised it is actually the water that is killing them.
Considering the AMC president wants this show to still be around in 2022, nobody from the current cast will probably see the end of the series :D Maybe Carl, Michonne, Rick or Daryl, but the greater amount of time passes, the more death beckons to these characters as well
Did anyone else notice the filming mistake in the seen with Carle and Hershel???? It was in the seen with then leaving the woods there appears to be an extra or possibly a crew member on the other side of the double trunk tree. You can clearly see someone or possibly a walker now that I'm looking at it again. I know it wasn't ment to be in the seen. I wouldn't typically say anything about it but I've never noticed any b4!!!!! P.S. If Hershel turned on the show would he be considered or called Hershel Walker? ;)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Loved it!
ReplyDeleteI love this show. The fight btw Rick and Tyrese was great! The Carol revelation was good. This show is very entertaining to me!
I didn't expect her either!

ReplyDeleteHis impromptu speech to Rick and Maggie gave me chills. I'll be so sad when he dies. Cause I don't think he'll make it to the end of the series.
ReplyDeleteThat was an INSANE herd of walkers. Holy crap. Like, that was a lot.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy this season so far, and Hershel was amazing this episode. Didn't see the Carol twist coming but I understand where she's coming from.

ReplyDeleteLoving this season so far, good stuff! Hershel the hero and Carol the killer.
ReplyDeleteCarol is becoming the next Andrea, taking too many matters into her own hands.
ReplyDeleteIf they were already dead and/or turned there would have been no need for all the secrecy and deception. She murdered two people, lied about it, and only isn't going to do it again because now people she personally cares about are sick like Glenn and the little girl.

Yeah! I thought it was a good twist b/c I wasn't expecting her at all!
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode, this season is kicking ass. I like all storylines. I am not sure I like Ty, I don't think I do, he is too primitive to me, I dunno. ReplyDeleteNo, no answer yet on who was feeding them rats.

ReplyDeleteI agree, it reminded me of the attack on the farm back on season 2 finale.

ReplyDeleteIt never crossed my mind last week but I called it in the middle of this episode, I was very suspicious.
ReplyDeleteHe saw a bloody handprint and realized it was a woman's.
ReplyDeleteTrue, it becomes a bigger moral dilemma, for both Carol for doing the act and for us as the audience in siding with or against Carol. I was just trying to think of possible explanations for it.

I agree, it's supposed to be a morally grey area and that is exactly what they are accomplishing!

ReplyDeleteI thought I'd heard wrong when Carol said "yes". She was the last person I expected. :O
ReplyDeleteWhoa, didn't see it coming at all that Carol was the one who killed them! This isn't going to end well between her and Tyrese.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode! Hope Glenn will be okay.
