Good episode setting up the rest of the season. Excited for where this season goes. Also im curious as to what the governor has been doing the past 7 months
Excellent season 4 opener! I didn't really get "Rick's Mis - Adventure with Crazy Lady", but I was pretty sure it would end badly. Plot points a) the "Bloody Eyes Walker" that Rick saw (twice) at the fence, b) the sick/dead pig, and Patrick's sickness/death only to "Walker - Out" very quickly. The "It's Raining Walkers" scene in the Quickie Mart was pretty intense, but cool. The "Military Medic" is a screw - up waiting to happen..................how much damage will he do to the group? Oh yeah............where the hell is "The Governor"? You (all) know where I'll be next Sunday. 4 THE DEAD TO STAY WALKING, I am Nobody!!!
Loved this episode! This is what I watch TWD for... The character progression, the story, the human element.
Interesting to see how the group has evolved now that they have a larger number of people and the beginnings of a community.
Wait! They're growing guns? The NRA would love that recipe! XD
I always knew Daryl was a rock star, but now it seems even the rest of the TWD world does as well! He has groupies! XD
Rick's back and so is Carl. Love Carl's hypocrisy! "Carl don't name the pigs" Then just moments later, "[new girl], don't name the walkers!" XD
Damn! Glenn and Maggie are high up in hte survivor hierarchy, but even they cannot get some matching pillowcases! Four pillows and not one pair? Seriously? XD
Loved Carol's story time including weaponry lessons! In a zombie apocalypse world, survival lessons are more important than grammar lessons!
Clara psycho survivor was a trip! Another great performance by Kerry Condon! I knew she was up to no good and saying someone is back at camp made me think it was a trap or Eddie was sick/ turning/ turned. And she even said, "It's just ahead" or was that, "It's just a head!" XD
- I thought I had issues waking up some mornings but imagine knowing you have to get up to go do morning fence kills! ACK!! That would be a tough motivator. - Infected shower water might not be a good thing. - Infected food supply definitely is not a good thing! Just sayin'. - Going through DT's with PTSD during a zombie apocalypse looks horrifying!
Lesson learned tonight: Do not invest emotionally into new faces this season. They are the equivalent of red shirts on Star Trek.
Example 1 : Zach Beth's new beau who she won't say goodbye to. For good reason evidently. He's disposible! XD Example 2: Patrick Daryl licks his hand and then shakes Patrick's hand and later Patrick dies. Coincidence? XD
Over all I thought it was a "Great" catch up and set up episode.
Feel better, Violet! Yeah, really. I liked Patrick. Now I'm really worried about everyone else getting sick. Excellent premiere, and I'm pumped for the season.
I thought the lady was immune to the virus but could still exhibit the symptoms! Have you ever seen 28 Weeks Later? If so, I thought she might have been like the wife in that movie.
She was very odd-looking, and I'm surprised Rick didn't notice. She looked dead. Her skin was greenish!
OH NO! Daryl shook hands with sick/dead Patrick while eating and Patrick was cooking the meat in that same scene as well as coughing (up blood) in the shower scene. Patrick was the "Typhoid" of this episode. What could this mean for Daryl and the others? 4 THE DEAD TO STAY WALKING, I will be Nobody!!!
excellent start to the season! Daryl "Pookie" Dixon and his many admirers totally had me laughing. Good to see the little village operating well, but with a very heavy feeling of impending dread, and now with the kid dying/zombifying due to possible tainted pork.... not good. Good to have this excellent show back on...
I have noticed that the guy started to feel bad after the strange handshake with Daryl. Was this something connected to licking his fingers? allergy to something? maybe it is only connected to the pig?
Great episode for me with lots of character development. I loved that Carol was teaching the kids how to use knifes while Rick was in the garden with Hershel, learning about plants. :-) Daryl being everybody´s hero was great. He is such a great character, it was good to see him again. I´m glad that Rick seemed like Rick again, I really didn´t like him last season.
I thought the same thing about the woman, especially when she started talking about what they've had to do/eat in order to survive. I thought it was going to show that you don't need to die anymore for the infection to take hold and turn you. That would have been interesting and terrifying, meaning that anyone could turn at any time.Shame they didn't go with it.
Now THAT is a thought. It could be that Daryl is the carrier, and Patrick caught the disease from Daryl.
Agree with Beth. Don't get emotionally invested in anybody on this show.
I think of Carl's instructions to the kids as him trying to be like his dad. The problem is he doesn't really know where his dad is coming from, in fact doesn't really know a world without zombies.
I voted "great" also. Just reserving my "awesomes."
And then Beth hugged Daryl! And taking from a point made by DarqueMode above, Daryl could actually be the typhoid. He licked his fingers and then shook hands.
I guess the massive ratings increased the budget for the make-up department. I found the walkers falling from the ceiling and instantly dying in various ways a little over the top.
Great episode!! wow, the final scene was really surprising. I mean, it could be the beggining of a epidemic, and put this with a zombie apocalypse, and things will be a lot worse for them. Man, the moment i saw that the prison have lots of new people, i knew that this season will have lots of killing. I can't wait to see the next episode! And yes, i think it's linked with the pig.
Hell yeah it's back! So happy! It was a great set up episode. I liked seeing them happy and in peace for once, I thought we earned the right to see that. I always had the curiosity to see how it would end up going at the beginning of season 3 when rick said all the plans he had for the prison. Well, 30 days they lasted. I think we are in for a killer season! And I still adore Rick Grimes!
Now they got an enemy zombie within the prison walls lol bad enough they still lurking around in different cell blocks and outside but now they actually have one within their own block.
I believe the first half of the season which ends in December will most likely see them losing the prison. i mean prisons are meant to keep criminals inside but it wasn't designed for zombies lol. Or maybe i could be wrong bout them losing it but from the upcoming season promo it looked like they are
I think they will address it once they realize Patrick has turned and by the looks of things the virus seems to make the Undead virus(yes i said it lol) in their bodies trigger much faster compared too when they die. When Patrick collapsed maybe seconds after it he turned. But when a human dies without the virus takes several minutes.
I a man who can't stay away from spoilers read the spoilers bout the premiere episode and knew that Patrick would die in the end along with the pig and the bear and apparently see no connection between the two lol
At the beginning and towards the end there were two long shots of a face of one particular Walker. He was clearly bleeding from the eyes. At the end when the kid died, he seemed to be bleeding from his eyes as well. Coincidence?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I think I missed the part hinting that the guy was sick enough to die. I wonder what he died of?
ReplyDeleteThis is not good.
I am so glad this show's back! I missed it.
ReplyDeleteUgh, going to school during a zombie apocalypse would suck.
At first I thought that lady Rick was talking to was some kind of advanced zombie and they could talk now.
Great episode!
I'm guessing he died of the same thing the pig died of.

ReplyDeleteDuh, I didn't even think of making that connection.
ReplyDeleteThe store they were in was a copy of a Big Lots!.
ReplyDeleteLoved this episode!

ReplyDeleteThanks! You are very observant.................Quickie Mart was my way of being "Cute/Clever"! 4 THE DEAD TO STAY WALKING, I remain Nobody!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was AWESOME!!!! I cannot wait for next Sunday :-)
ReplyDeleteI think the pig/meat is tainted! Poor Patrick :-(
ReplyDeleteI thought the lady was immune to the virus but could still exhibit the symptoms! Have you ever seen 28 Weeks Later? If so, I thought she might have been like the wife in that movie.

ReplyDeleteMy now ex-bf watched this, I'd seen the s3 finale so I tried paying attention. For some reason I just guess I'll never be a fan of this show.

ReplyDeleteOkay I feel stupid for asking this, but am I the only one who didn't get exactly how much was the time jump since last season? :/
