I thought it was great. I swear this show keeps getting better and better. Really loved Cara's backstory. And her helping Emily out on the train tracks. Stephen stopping time to fake Cara losing her abilities was awesome! I mean i knew he didn't really inject her, but i wasn't thinking of HOW he faked it, guess i was too into the scene. Also liked the action scenes. They have made a HUGE improvement on the fighting scenes. (Can't really see their pulled punches anymore or not that much) Astrid finding out about Stephen i did not expect that quickly, but i'm glad it's out there. Also her confronting him on it, i also didn't expect in the same episode but again, i'm glad it's out there. Next week looks really good, can't wait to see the extended promo on that.
pretty good ep with some good action and backstory on Kara. I know it's probably easier to not think too much about it, but I do wish they could go into a bit more detail just on the teleportation bit, as just how they know how to control it without materializing in solid objects/people/midair or in view of people in broad daylight (except for Stephen's oops in front of Astrid)... also speaking of Astrid, since Stephen knew that the times he gave the supercomputer wasn't the same train that killed his classmate's sister, and that it sort of correlated to a different train, how did Astrid figure out to be there? seems a bit thin without explanation... still an ejoyable ep that has improved over the previous eps for me
I think the episode should have ended with Astrid seeing Stephen teleport. The action was much improved but the story itself had far too many plot holes
For the teleportation, it must take some practice since Stephen teleported into a bucket when he landed in the janitor's closet at school. Not sure about the more technical details, but we may get there.
No idea how Astrid tracked Emily. I thought it was the same train but I wasn't listening closely.
This was a huge improvement over the already-good first couple of episodes. Cara has a compelling backstory, Ultra has been very competent (they're 100% on to Stephen), and there's some realism to how the Tomorrow People view the risks of exposure when considering helping humans.
Didn't Stephen try to tell Astrid all this and she didn't believe him.... now this? Why not say I believe you, rather then ask him to tell you the truth, when now he can't because you didn't believe him the first time. gtfo bitch
Totally agree with you about Astrid, I saw it coming but thought it would come just before Christmas hiatus to keep us waiting. Absolutely loved the episode it is seriously improving dramatically. Cara's backstory was heart breaking and so well done. I cannot wait for the next episode.
Great episode, except I feel like there are some explanations missing, like how was Cara abe to kill that kid if their kind supposedly can't kill? I wish they would have adressed that, at least raise the question...
Ikr?? Like the 3rd episode, that was REALLY quick. I mean he tried to tell her once, but she didn't believe him. So i figured they would just leave it alone til mid-season finale. And she'd be all oblivious to the fact. Guess we were wrong huh? lol But i'm kinda glad it happened this way. I really am. The real question is will he just let go and tell her. Or will she really have to find out on her own? I LOVED Cara's backstory, i thought it was very well done. I mean who would've known she was deaf?? That really surprised me. And the origin of her powers, really explains the person she is now. I hope that John and Russell's backstories are just as good.
Cara is proving to be an amazing character I was a little worried at the beginning she would be the token hot chick but very glad she has so many layers. She is just the right amount of angst, kickass and concern to appeal to most everyone. Did you catch the nod to Aaron having been in the film 21? He said "I haven't been banned from all the casinos in Vegas." Thought that was a nice touch.
Same here. I was thinking oh please don't let this chick be another prey thrown in the trenches thing. Where there's a triangle between her Stephen, and John. And TBH....I see NO chemistry between her and Stephen. I really don't. I had to look them both p to see their ages, Rob is 25 while Peyton is 27, BUT in the show she looks so much older than him. I mean i know he's suppose to play a HS student, but still her face looks more like a 30 yr old. Maybe that's the look they were going for????? Her having so much stress and struggle to her life, that she looks older than she is? Idk that's just what i see. But i much rather her stay with John, and Stephen can someday be with Astrid, b/c i see a lot more chemistry with those two. And i wouldn't mind that. Astrid seemed like she liked him more than a friend anyway. (well now probably not) Anyways that's way down the line, i hope. As for that line, unfortunately i did not! I never got around to seeing 21. I always wanted to, then i just forgot about it. But i did laugh very hard at that line. Maybe i'll watch 21 today. = )
I totally get what you mean about ages I looked them up on imdb was very surprised to see Peyton was only a year older than me would have pegged her as 29 or 30. I guess your probably right that they wanted someone who looked older to correspond with the tough life she has been through. Same as you I don't see any chemistry between Stephen and Cara it just isn't there, I get the feeling she sees him more as a little brother to make up for having to leave her sister behind. I'm really not sure what to think about Stephen and Astrid it all depends on how much he reveals and how she reacts. There is potential there but I think they might go for the angst route would greater divide him from humans if he loses her. 21 is a good bubblegum film bit silly in places but worth a watch.
Same here. I was shocked at that myself. Hahaha I def. DON'T see her see him as a little brother. She's def. attracted to him. You should look a little closer. lol With Stephen and Astrid, they're relationship really feels like they've been friends for a long time. I can see it in her eyes that she's attracted to him. But idt he'll take that step with her yet. I actually think she'll be the reason for him exploiting his secret, knowing if he can actually trust her, and prove The Tomorrow People wrong. I heard 21 was a good movie. The trailers had definitely pulled me in. And I love Kevin Spacey, so idt i'll be disappointed.
I'm guessing if your best friend, who has a mental problem and is on meds, comes to you one day and say something like HEY LOOK AT ME, I HAVE POWERS and then proceeds to show you... no powers, of course you will believe them, because HOW COULD YOU NOT.
After some time you see them using those powers. And ask directly what the hell did you see, and your supposed best friend LIES TO YOU IN YOUR FACE.
Of course, in this case, you are the bitch (And btw, did you need to call her this? What the hell for? Are you four?).
He has to lie now, as he is now led to believe you cannot reveal the powers to humans.
Bitch is not as foul of a language to express my opinions. much worse can be said but I have control on top of that Ive been on this site for long Never once used foul language that should not be said, and its also not allowed on the site, if Bitch went tru, means the site don't mind why do you. its what I feel about her for now. feelings change.
Agreed. I was one of the major detractors of the fight scenes in the pilot and they are much, much improved.
I personally had issues with Stephen stopping time. The camera may be in the room and in the sphere of his influence and time pause, but the actual DVR recording the action is in a different room likely far away and time would still be moving. Even if the camera" paused" the recorded would have a still image for however long Stephen stopped time, and most likely would have had pre and post stop artifacts that did not match up exactly.
I think it's because she didn't have the intent to kill but it could also be that her breakout didn't complete yet so I really don't know. It seemed like the Prime Barrier affected her at the end of the first flashback scene.
Best episode yet! Loved everything about it and didn't have the sort of "drag" storylines about the human world that the previous episodes had. I am glad they made Ashley aware of Stephen this early, otherwise should be too useless. I loved learning more about Kara, she had a very tragic upbringing, no doubt about that. The way he saved her was genius, I really bought it that she would be powerless, it didn't even occur to me the possibility of stopping time. Genius! So happy with the show so far, I hope the ratings don't fall!
I agree with the explanations below but I do think the show needs to be careful with this and establish things very clearly, otherwise it can loose credibility and create plot holes which would be a shame.
I don't find that many mindblowing plotholes. Which ones are you refering to specifically? I think the whole "cannot kill" thing is a bit inconsistent but other than that, I haven't found reasons to complain.
I am curious as to what plot holes people keep referring to? IMO, the whole "can't kill others" thing is a bit inconsistent and needs work/ better definition on the show, but which other plothotels are pepole referring to?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Best episode yet. Major improvement

ReplyDeletelol, shouldn't the poll title be 'The Tomorrow People - Girl, Interrupted? ;)

That Was An A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Episode the show keeps getting better and better. Cara past was really intriguing. Can't Wait Next Week
ReplyDeleteGreat show. Loved Cara back story. I can't wait for next week
ReplyDeleteThey only showed us some of Cara's backstory there will be more just like with John and the other Tomorrow People.
ReplyDeleteThe show is getting better, I just wish they would do something about those mindblowing plotholes.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Stephen try to tell Astrid all this and she didn't believe him.... now this? Why not say I believe you, rather then ask him to tell you the truth, when now he can't because you didn't believe him the first time. gtfo bitch

21 is a good bubblegum film bit silly in places but worth a watch.
I think they can't kill them intentionally, but the death of that kid was an accident.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I was shocked at that myself. Hahaha I def. DON'T see her see him as a little brother. She's def. attracted to him. ReplyDeleteHmmm I guess you're right, I didn't think of the intention nuance !
ReplyDeleteWhy not say I believe you

That's the same thing i was worried about. I have a feeling Jed will look up those time stamps and connect the dots..here's hoping he doesn't!!!

ReplyDeleteI don't find that many mindblowing plotholes. Which ones are you refering to specifically? I think the whole "cannot kill" thing is a bit inconsistent but other than that, I haven't found reasons to complain.
