  1. Better than the pilot, giving that the pilot was like 90% of footage we had already seen in TVD.

  2. Now this is a show from TVD producers. Fast paced full of twists. Way better than the pilot

  3. ...An amazing episode. It gave enough depth but still with mystery, and an intriguing storyline. It was nice to get to know the characters more. Now to hold my breathe for Elijah :( .

  4. Hate Davina already. She's got that annoyiing combo of being overpowered, knowing it, pouty-face and cockiness.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Do the writers ship Klaus/Rebekah or something? It shows.

    ReplyDelete
  6. So far The originals Is turning out better than Vampire diaries. I am not finding myself hating any characters. Or find any anoying.

Thank God rebekah Is free of mystic falls. This Is akin to season 3.

I am defently sensing more here than on VD a incest vibe between her and Klaus.

    ReplyDelete
  7. She Isn't Bonnie. Who i wish they would have had guts to die and be move on.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yep. Soon the caroline/klaus shippers will hate rebekah.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Marcel is a bad man, might be the best part about this show.

  10. The Caroline/Klaus thing came out of nowhere and only contributed to the de-fanging of Klaus. I stopped watching TVD shortly after.

The Caroline/Klaus aspect is irrelevant now. They are on two separate shows. That won;t change until one show is canceled.

And God help me, I would actually like to see if the writers have the balls to go Klaus/Rebekah.

  11. Tonight was a really good episode! I really enjoyed it. I liked the bond between Haley/Rebekah, hopefully they will continue to be friends. Still sad that Elijah isn't out of that coffin yet, hoping he will be back by next episode. Can't wait for next week!

  12. I liked it. This ep kept me watching till the end. It was better than I expected it to be.

  13. And when i thought the episode was going out with a band, they played a song in the background (a song I admit I like) for almost five minutes with scenes were suppose to be touching and suspenseful. I spent almost five minutes waiting for the song to end but no it went on and on until the credits roled out. Overall, improvement from last week though those voice overs still have to go.

  14. I doubt they will ever do a real incest story there. But I do think Klaus has issues.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I agree.I find those shippers so anoying. Some hated hayley after getting pregnent by Klaus. Kind of hard to have a ship since caroline doesn't care about klaus and they write her being tied like a chain to tyler.

Hopefully Caroline will never be mentioned on the originals.

I don't know if censors would allow them to go Klaus/Rebekah but there are plenty of overtunes to it.

The VD had history of bulding up things and de-fanging them. Werewolves,Klaus,Hybrids.

  16. I think it has to do with the fact that he is scare mindless of being alone and since he can or could control Rebekah better than his brothers its no surprise that he would cling to her.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hahaha lol. Maybe it would take some load off Haley.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This Is klaus,Rebekah, and Elijah's show.Besides them the only characters memorial are marcel and Hayley. And i was one who found hayley a waste and bore on VD.The rest I need a scorecard to remember their names.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I dunno. Shows these days seem open to exploring incest. Game of Thrones, The Borgias, hell, there are many fans out there wanting Sam/Dean (brothers on Supernatural) and Thor/Loki (you know who they are).

If the writers explore Klaus/Rebekah, if will fit right in considering today's landscape.

  20. This show is amazing! I think it might even be better than The Vampire Diaries. This episode, in my opinion, was way better that the pilot too, but I think that might be because I've already seen the pilot in three different versions, so it got a little repetitive. Can't wait to see what else the Originals decides to throw at us! :D

  21. Yeah they did have a incest sex scene on game of thrones. The enitre plot depends on children born from incest affair.Although network TV even the CW Is different from HBO.

There was entire Buffy/Dawn shipper community from Buffy. You can find fics of them.Yeah there are those who want the brothers on Supernatural to have gay love.

Tonight epiosde clearly throws overtunes of Klaus on some level wanting Rebekah and noone else is good enough for her besides him.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well here is to toasting against it. For GoT it was written in the books and for the Borgias it was written in history (regardless of how much truth there is in that). An incestous relationship between Klaus and Rebekah would serve no purpose. We already know how f**ed up Klaus is we don't need to add incest to the list. And plus Klaus's obsession with Rebekah had more to do with his issues with being alone. To me it is no different from him hoarding his family around in coffins for centuries.

  23. Well those shows you mentioned are on premium cable where there is MUCH more freedom to do something like that.

  24. I agree, I find myself preferring The Originals to TVD. I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode of The Originals way more than this coming episode of TVD.

    ReplyDelete
  25. That was better than the pilot. I like the family love and they will anything for it that what made me like the original in the frist place. I do hope they get Elijah back on soon he my favorite and I could not take it if they did not.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Rebekah has finally come home.........YES! Excellent episode and even better than the pilot. And this Davina Claire.............where the #3LL is Bonnie when she's needed? What if she (Davina Claire) discovers the "Originals" greatest secret and only true weakness.............the "White Oak Stakes"? SORRY FOLKS, BUT THAT LITTLE 8!TC# HAS GOT TO GO ASAP! Already looking forward to episode 3..........how about you (all)? 4 THE ORIGINALS AND ALL THEIR COPIES AND REPEATS, I will be Nobody!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. So much better than either of the pilots.

Trying to kill the Originals is already so played out. TVD spent half of Season 2 and a good part of Season 3 doing that already. Surely Marcel knows that when an Original dies their bloodline goes with them - there should have been vampires dropping dead of no apparent reason.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I hate Davina already, i want her dead. I've always liked Rebekah, so it was good seeing her. Bonnie, i could care less if she came on or not. I hope she stays away, TBH....Davina can't get a hold on the white oak, so i'm not worried about that either. I'm not anxious for Next week, but i am curious to see what happens next and i really hope they can find Elijah....as for Hayley i can't stress it enough how much i want her GONE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Elijah better NOT stay daggered for too many episodes otherwise i think i would just stop watching the show all together since hes such a great character to have in it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. good ep, better than the pilot and way better than the backdoor pilot, so there is improvement and I think for me it was all due to Rebekah. Still not completely sold on the show yet despite the foundation from TVD, but am convinced enough to keep viewing for now

    ReplyDelete
  31. Keeps getting better - can't wait for new episode!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Don't watch TVD, it was for those who don't like TVD, so I certainly enjoyed the pilot!

    ReplyDelete
  33. It was a very solid second episode. Special props to Claire Holt for her scenes with Joseph Morgan's Klaus and Phoebe Tonkin's Hayley. You could feel the bonds of family forming between them, or at the very least, an alliance to take down the person who in one way or another is a nuisance to them - Marcel.

By the way, does anyone know if The CW has ordered more episodes for the first season of The Originals, or is it still at 13 episodes?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I wouldn't say it was for people who don't like TVD....b/c if it wasn't for TVD there'd be no Originals. So yeah. I would say this is for people who just like Vampires in general with a little more action and less drama. (this is totally excluding Twilight, smh). I know why they pretty much redid all the scenes, in fact i had to tell one of my friends that..."b/c not everyone watches TVD, Soo they had to introduce the characters and storyline allll overrr again." She was still annoyed but understood after that. Haha

    ReplyDelete
  35. An improvement from last week. Bummed that Elijah is still daggered, I was hoping to have him back already with this episode but oh well. Intrigued by Devina, why is she so powerful and how did Marcel gets her to do his dirty work?

    ReplyDelete
  36. For now, there will be 13 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Really loved the episode. Though I already hate the twist with "killing the originals" again.. Davina is one nasty thing.. I think for everyone not watching TVD but The Originals the "Killing" part is okay but for TVD watchers we've established their greatest weakness and I would like it way more if Marcel was trying to beat them with twists and his power. He is already desperate and wants to kill them.. Klaus just wants his "kingdom" back..

    ReplyDelete
  38. I don't think Marcel knows about the bloodline.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I meant that the pilot was for those who don't watch TVD so they would know the basics for the series!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I liked this episode a lot. I can see where they are going with and I have my thoughts on how season 1 will end. So I think that Marcel and Davina have a weakness that Klaus will of course find and exploit to his advantage. I think Davina is unstable, she is young and probably does not really know how to control hers powers until Marcel got to her. I think Klaus will find something out about Davina and exploit her cause she is so young. Also I think that when it will be time to kill Marcel he will not be able to do it because of how he feels about him and how his father hunted him an tried to kill him. I am not sure about what Haley's role is just yet except to be hidden from Marcel. Will be great to see how it plays out.

  41. I loved it! I´ve been a big fan of Klaus and Rebekah on TVD and I am so happy to get a show with much more focus on them. Both were terrific in this episode. Great background story and good dynamic between the two of them, there always was.

I never liked Hayley and hated that she was dragging a long to New Orleans, but she was actually ok in this episode, let´s hope it get´s even better.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I hope we get some background story for Devina and Marcel. I wonder if he took her in when she was little, much like Klaus did to him?!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I agree, I like it better than TVD aswell. Klaus and Rebekah were always my favorites, so I´m just happy that they have their own show now.

    ReplyDelete
  44. That is how I feel too. I like some of the characters on TVD, but there are also some that I don´t care for at all. So far on the Originals all the characters seems great.

(wasn´t crazy about Hayley to start with, but she is getting better)

    ReplyDelete
  45. yeah ITA it's already obvious that Klaus will never be able to kill Marcel and maybe that will drive a wedge between him and Elijah and Rebekah in season 2!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I have the feeling that it's something like this! Maybe her parents were killed by vampires (even Rebekah or Klaus maybe?) and then he took her in !

    ReplyDelete
  47. Rebekah's baaaaack! Hell yeah. Such a good ep, this season is shaping up to be crazy and I'm loving it!

    ReplyDelete
  48. The daggers were the ones used before, Klaus keeps them with him. He always had three, and there was a 4th one which Elena got in TVD season 2). With Kol and Finn gone, their daggers are free.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ohhh gotcha, yes i agree. That's also what I said.

A lot better than the pilot, but I think it hasn't achieve its full potential yet.

Maybe the problem is that they need to cover the basics fast so they can jump into action and it seems at times a little bit forced. I find a little bit disturbing that Rebekah can feel lust for someone who she has known since he was a child and I guess she raised Marcel with Klaus and Elijah, so... weird. Rebekah and Elijah seem quite interested in telling their life stories to Hailey... that wasn't natural for me either.

The best parts of this episode was the portrayal of Klaus: Psychotic but fragile at the same time and the humor that Rebekah brings to the show. I hope Elijah is undaggered soon and I am looking forward to flashbacks where we can see the rest of the family and their dynamic, even when I understand that this will only happen when the three main character personalities are already established. I still think a show about their past with the whole family would have been more appealing, but well, at least we got a show about The Originals.

I don't like Davinia, btw. We'll keep watching, hope the series fixs its problems.

  51. Witches can't be compelled so how in the world does this Witch trust a vampire?? Marcel found a loop hole in the Witches world and betting that key around his neck is the answer to why that Witch is following Marcel's orders or could be the key to the door that leads to her but yet again the door seems to be unlocked all the time lol

  52. I'm the only one who loves Davina? What is she? She's to powerful to be a witch

I agree. Someone on another side called him "Cesare Borgia" and I think that person was right.

    ReplyDelete
  54. wow, i really enjoyed this episode. I really like the the development of the story and all the flashbacks. I'm very interested to see what comes next. I also love the rhythm. very dynamic and fast. Reminds me the very gold days from TVD, back in S2.

'you narcissistic, backstabbing, wanker.” lol, oh, wow i love Rebekah. She is pure gold and i agree, i love her scenes with Hayley. Hope they develop a great friendship. And also, bring back Elijah!! the poor guy always want to do the right thing and somehow end up being stabbed.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I am so sold! I am enjoying this so much more than I thought. It's season 1/2 of TVD all over again. Love the characters, the twists, the dynamics, the complex flashbacks, the action. Seriously awesome episode, I didn't count on liking this one so much but I am loving it.

  56. It was a great episode!!!!!! I really liked the Hayley/Rebekah scenes and i really hope that Elijah will be undaggered in the next episodes...he is my favorite original!!!!
