The episode itself was great, having Klaus as a protagonist ? Not sure, I certainly didn't start liking him more after daggering Elijah. How often has this guy died allready ? Right now the only thing I'm interested in is when he wakes up again, I couldn't care less for Klaus and Marcel tough, let's hope Rebekah comes into town bashing Klaus stupid plans
Agreed, but I'm still kind of worried for new viewers. They're introduced to a protagonist that they're supposed to root for and all of a sudden this character is killed (to their knowledge) and replaced as a protagonist by the person that killed the old one.
The only problem with the episode -- well, besides the fact that Elijah got *#^*&@ daggered -- is that I can't imagine them now telling the rest of the series through Klaus' eyes. While I get the "poor little Klaus never had any love" he is still a psychopath, as re-confirmed by this episode. Don't get me wrong, I like Klaus as a character...but I think the series might suffer if he doesn't soften up...and then again, it might suffer if he does. So, basically, un-dagger Elijah ASAP.
It was going awesomely--a much better retelling of the backdoor pilot--even with the silly baby thing and the witches "we plotted to get you here to get rid of Marcel, but you can't kill him because duh plot device" but then they DAGGERED Elijah. An entire episode of awesome Elijah, then stab. Crap. Cause sure, Klaus, Elijah and Marcel wouldn't have been an amazing show. And sure Rebecca is less of a liability than Elijah, please.
I loved it. I am so relieved that I can say that because I have been obsessing over this show for so long and now I know that there is a large percent in its favor that says I won't be disappointed. I've always respected Elijah for his great nobility and loyalty and seing Klaus stake him was hard. I think after being romanticize in TVD 4 I lost track of who Klaus was and how damaged he is and that scene brought back the old sentiment that the Mikealson as individuals and a unit have a lot of work ahead of them. The possibilities are great, especially with Davina whom I hope is as strong as Marcel said she is.
Shooting schedule was rearranged to accommodate his filming of Saving Hope. There's always the chance that he had a heavy episode there and will have a lighter episode of TO because of it, but their intention was that he was to be in every episode.
Elijah... give him back to us now! That is all. I'm feeling this premiere more than the TVD premiere tbh. Can't wait for Rebekah to roll in to town next episode.
That makes sense and could be interesting. Seeing things from Klaus' side, Rebekah's, Sophie's, Hayley's, etc. but I worry that there is no one to really route for. I'm a long time fan of Elijah's so I'll always route for him, but what about the new viewer? There needs to be a ying to Klaus' yang...wait a minute, that came out wrong...
I am mad they have Elijah daggered yet again. This show has some interesting stuff going for it. Although, I will never like Haley. I really cannot stand her. I'm going to give it a few more eps, see where the show goes.
It did shift, right at the end when they were talking. That's another thing I liked about this episode that it flowed like a book. I can see more episodes like this happening where different characters take the center. And I hope they do do that as I have no interest in being stuck on one character all the time regardless of who it might be.
I did really like this exchange: Hayley: "Your dad was a dick." Elijah: *smile/look of amusement* It was cute...in a nonromantic way. (Note to writers: Please, please do not make them love interests.)
Maybe I'm the only one here but I thought the episode was ok. The only thing I really like was Elijah been the heart of the family and I think the show I was so mad that he got stab again I really hope he on more because I think I get bored with the show if they don't
Always and Forever was an awesome episode. I had feared that after all this anticipation, it would end up underwhelming me (as I am wont to end up feeling about things that I obsess over), but it was really something.
Everything has been set into motion – Klaus' bid for the rule of the city, the witches' rebellion and all. I know that Elijah's daggering may have come as a wallop for some fans, but for the story to be told from Klaus' point of view after Elijah in this episode, it was kind of necessary.
All in all, Always and Forever didn't disappoint me one bit. Now I'm looking forward to next week's "House of the Rising Son".
The episode was good, most of it I had already seen when they aired an episode last season on The Vampire Diaries. But over all it was good. The only thing is I can not see Klaus letting Haley raise the baby and they live as a happy family. I can see Klaus threatening Haley to stay away while he raises the baby. The whole Rebekah being a brat and not wanting to help Klaus I get but she needs to get over it, your an original use your power girl. The ending was a surprise, I was not happy to see Elijah get daggered again. I mean the show is called The Originals not The Klaus show. I get the that his is filming another show and stuff but I was looking forward to the 3 of them trying to take back the city from Marcel. I hope he gets un-daggered and soon. Should be good season.
Cool premiere! Elijah daggered and boxed.........NOOOOO! So Marcel's "Secret Weapon" against the witches is a traitor witch who is "Sprug" on Marcel................best way to deal with witches (Deva) who betray their own? First revive Bonnie, then get Bonnie to New Orleans ASAP where she will take care of the rest (Deva). Can' t wait until Rebekah gets to town and finds out what Klaus has done. 4 THE ORIGINALS AND ALL THEIR COPIES AND REPEATS, I will be Nobody!!!
What's boring abot a spin-off is that if you have seen it in the previous show now you have to see it all over again only to watch the last five minutes, those were great, I love elijah and haley, and the little witch seems really interesting.
Well that's a motive I can believe of Klaus..'I made him in my image and he did better than me'. I'm more interested here than vampire diaries (not sure I'll bother with that premiere) was disappointed that Klaus fell back on staking a family member (yawn). My first reaction was that proves that not learning from the past is a definite family trait. I can't say I'm hooked yet. But it earned some time.
i didn't Elijah being undaggered in the promo and kinda thought he was going to lead the show- more than Klaus. Hope he gets out soon I love him in this
MUCH better than TVD, but if they are going to side track Elijah, I will not be around long. He is the reason I would even watch this series, never cared for Klaus or Hayley.
I loved the first scene! Actually, I would've loved to follow them during that period in New Orleands and not in the present. (Long hair, swords, big dresses, Michael following his kids, Kol and Finn still alive!!!!!). The present doesn't interest me as much as the flashbacks, I want to watch the dynamic between all the originals and not between only three of them... but it still is a show about THE ORIGINALS and I am excited about the possibilities. The episode itself bored me a little (It was what I've already watched but from other perspective), but I have hopes that it will get so much better!
I was surprised to see that Kol was daggered 300 years ago, when he said in TVD that it was 100 years ago and he lived with his siblings in New Orleands. I guess the last 100 years where the longest time Klaus kept him sleeping, but he did dagger him other smaller periods of time... or maybe, Kol was seasick and asked Klaus to dagger him during the trip (kidding, obviously).
I think it is too the first time in history that a starring guest appears in the screen only BEFORE his name in the oppening credits.
I almost didn't watch this episode thinking it would be the exact same as the one we saw on TVD... I'm glad I watched it! This show looks awesome, and it would be great if every episode were to be lead by a different Original. Next one seems to be more centered in Rebecca.
I'm glad that am not the only one that think that. Because I was watching the show and thinking there not much there for me I stick to it for a little while but I don't have much hope that I will watch. Till the end
Yeah I know, I wish they had not cancelled it for us. I watched just because he was on it. But still with out him on TO, I would not even bother watching.
I don't know about that. I think a little of people wander into shows, rather than seeking them out. They channel flip and stop at something that catches their eye. I could see this show attracting viewers that might have been turned off by the teen vine of TVD.
I wasn't 100% sure I would stick with the show but I really liked this new version of the pilot, it made me decide I will stick around. I really enjoy the fact that we will dwell deeper on klaus, elija and rebekah especially since i could feel for klaus here way more than I ever could on TVD, I think they are great characters and could carry the show easily. My biggest dislike is the marcel character, it's just too cliched and weak for me so far, and the whole idea that he would actually challenge klaus that way in public when he knows he can't be killed is stupid to me, but we have to see more of it to understand it. anyway, will be watching!
The daggers just put them to sleep.. ugly sleep but still sleep. Only the white oak can actually kill them and I think they're all gone now.... unless a new turns up somewhere, possibly Marcel looking to be rid of Klaus will find one and doesn't know that killing Klaus will kill all the vampires of his line.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
well this is unfortunate im more interested in this show then The Vampire Dairies
ReplyDeletePilot: Elijah is already dead. :(
ReplyDeleteI liked it. More so than the VD.
ReplyDeleteThe episode itself was great, having Klaus as a protagonist ? Not sure, I certainly didn't start liking him more after daggering Elijah. How often has this guy died allready ?
ReplyDeleteRight now the only thing I'm interested in is when he wakes up again, I couldn't care less for Klaus and Marcel tough, let's hope Rebekah comes into town bashing Klaus stupid plans
Unfortunate end for Elijah = sad Elena/Elijah shippers
ReplyDeleteDaggered and shoved into a box. I'm sure he'll be back.
ReplyDeleteJeez, episode one and Klaus has already stabbed Elijah AGAIN. Poor Elijah is always getting staked.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode. Loved Elijah's point of view.
Eh, he's not dead dead.
ReplyDeleteRebecca will probably get him out next episode. I hope.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, but I'm still kind of worried for new viewers. They're introduced to a protagonist that they're supposed to root for and all of a sudden this character is killed (to their knowledge) and replaced as a protagonist by the person that killed the old one.

ReplyDeleteGod I hope so. But he wasn't in any of the promo stuff and isn't he still on Saving Hope?
ReplyDeleteHear, hear. Undagger Elijah.
ReplyDeleteI loved it. I am so relieved that I can say that because I have been obsessing over this show for so long and now I know that there is a large percent in its favor that says I won't be disappointed. ReplyDeleteI believe, from what I've read, that there's going to be shifting narrators.
ReplyDeleteElijah... give him back to us now! That is all. I'm feeling this premiere more than the TVD premiere tbh. Can't wait for Rebekah to roll in to town next episode.

ReplyDeleteI liked it. Elijah is perfect. He's so handsome. I actually liked Hayley this episode.
ReplyDeleteI think the writers might be heavily relying on VD viewers. Risky, yes.
ReplyDeleteI am mad they have Elijah daggered yet again. This show has some interesting stuff going for it. Although, I will never like Haley. I really cannot stand her. I'm going to give it a few more eps, see where the show goes.
ReplyDeleteSaving Hope airing in the summer and The Originals in the fall should help, shouldn't it? The filming schedules should not mingle too much.
ReplyDeleteToo much exposition. But other than that it was okay
ReplyDeleteIt did shift, right at the end when they were talking. That's another thing I liked about this episode that it flowed like a book. I can see more episodes like this happening where different characters take the center. And I hope they do do that as I have no interest in being stuck on one character all the time regardless of who it might be.

ReplyDeleteThe dialogue on this show feels so off to me.
ReplyDeleteI did really like this exchange:
ReplyDeleteHayley: "Your dad was a dick."
Elijah: *smile/look of amusement*
It was cute...in a nonromantic way. (Note to writers: Please, please do not make them love interests.)
Why not? Her character has potential.
ReplyDeletesucks about Elijah, he the main reason im watching TO. hopefully it won't take half of season before he undaggered.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm the only one here but I thought the episode was ok. The only thing I really like was Elijah been the heart of the family and I think the show I was so mad that he got stab again I really hope he on more because I think I get bored with the show if they don't

ReplyDeletedo I need to know anything about TVD to watch this?
ReplyDeleteThe general mythology on how the show handles vampires, warewolves, and witches would be helpful, but I'm sure you would pick that up quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe show put in a recap of this family's history in the premiere, which should help.
i loved it more than TVD. was soo excited for this Pilot for Joseph and Daniel and it delivered solid punch. mindblown. specially flashbacks
ReplyDeleteWhat's boring abot a spin-off is that if you have seen it in the previous show now you have to see it all over again only to watch the last five minutes, those were great, I love elijah and haley, and the little witch seems really interesting.

ReplyDeleteha, I did not like her in Secret Circle either. Elijah is my passion.

I hope so too, definitely the best character IMO though I like him on Saving Hope too so am glad both are ongoing (good for him too)
ReplyDeletei dont know why anyone would watch this show without at least a casual interest in the vampire diaries
ReplyDeleteExactly. I can't see people who've never watched VD watching TO.
ReplyDeleteI almost didn't watch this episode thinking it would be the exact same as the one we saw on TVD... I'm glad I watched it! This show looks awesome, and it would be great if every episode were to be lead by a different Original. Next one seems to be more centered in Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteDaniel Gilles is on a Canadian show "Saving Hope" and he might have contractual duties keeping him away for the time being.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that am not the only one that think that. Because I was watching the show and thinking there not much there for me I stick to it for a little while but I don't have much hope that I will watch. Till the end

ReplyDeleteI also don't want that to happen but I doubt it will. He is one of the main characters of the show.
ReplyDeletelets not forgot his wife Rachael Leigh Cook still has her show on TNT lol
ReplyDeleteCan't stand Perception, but good she's working as I like her too.
ReplyDeleteThe daggers just put them to sleep.. ugly sleep but still sleep.
