Not the strongest of come back episodes, but enjoyable enough. I saw episode 2 earlier today which is fantastic, misfits at it's best, so I have high hopes for the rest of the season.
As Andy says, I saw it for reviewing purposes, you can see my thoughts and some teasers here - http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/10/misfits-episode-502-preview-and-teasers.html
Haha yeah, he can't catch a break power wise can he. I wonder if he swaps it for something else later on this season, I can't see it being much use in a burning tower block situation. Or, maybe he has to take away the power of some kind of pyro-powered person?
I can see him using his power better than Alisha did, her raping and playing with people's labido's in series 1 were all solely for her own kicks and enjoyment. At least this time we are shown it being for the benefit of both the person involved and the wider community.
They were made to believe they wanted her, it wasn't their real emotions at play but her power. Curtis was very p'd off at her for making him sleep with her once for example, and felt extremely violated.
Really, how do you mean? I found it worse if I'm honest as all she was thinking of was herself and her own pleasure, it was hedonistic and self-absorbed imo. I do understand that it was part of her journey though, and she changed herself completely for the better. But Alex in this episode was doing it to help, Finn was glad to have the power removed, and a potential disaster was averted.
I thought I'd react differently due to "Handsome Barman" basically raping Finn, but their reactions (though mainly Rudy and Jess's reactions) made me laugh so fucking hard.
I agree totally about Alisha, I hated that power. This power of Alex's... it's almost worth it for Rudy's jokes about last one in, first one out etc :P
I really disliked her character when the show started. That clip of her touching all the guys in the club that one time or the rape of Curtis was far, far creepier than, say, the time awkward Simon tried to look up Kelly's skirt when she was unconscious or was invisible while the girls changed in the locker room for me.
Although what Simon did was bad, it was more of a curious thing and I think he regretted his actions in some ways. But she was completely out of control and saw nothing wrong in what she was doing. It took Curtis's reaction to her, and the time she was unwillingly attacked due to her power, for her to become responsible with it. It did make for a great journey, but boy did I hate her at first XD
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah I see what you mean, it means that anyone with a power they want to keep is kinda off limits to him. Do you think that will come up in the series, it would be an interesting thing to show imo.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteOh okay! Looking forward to see the next episode! That first one was very great! :D
ReplyDeleteNo worries ;)
ReplyDeleteWow andy doesn't have any luck with his powers at all ^^
ReplyDeleteGood ep, the new hot-bartender's power was a bit weird but i guess that's why it's Misfits.

ReplyDeleteYes I guess it could be useful but it's awful that he has to go arround raping people in a way.

ReplyDeleteYes but when Alisha touched people they wanted to be with her, I'm guessing it'll be much more complicated for this guy.

ReplyDeleteYes I know, what I mean is that in that particular moment it wasn't as weird as it was with Finn.

Oh I didn't mean Alex's is worse moraly, I think it's worse for him who has to live with it for now.

ReplyDeleteYeah it would be interesting to see that. Specifically for the show I think it's sort of a way to be different from other super-power shows.
