  1. Called it since the beginning, Skye would never betray Coulson and co.

  2. I was getting a little worried at the frenetic, uneven pacing of the first couple of episodes, the trying too hard. But this week was probably my favorite episode yet. So many funny lines. I can't wait for the re-watch.

I think Dr.Hall will return in the future....they left that opening for future episode

  4. I'm almost dreading the ratings. Thanks for making me scared about my favorite TV shows again, STV! :P

  5. Soooo...Coulson created Graviton? Lol. I like that the show is getting better as it goes on. I hope the ratings stay high!

    Would never betray NOW.

The guy had nothing to do with HER group. So she improvised. It has nothing to do with her longterm allegiance though. Just another step to "proving herself".

    BRILLIANT episode.

Loved the Graviton's origin story. I guess every hero has to eventually create a villain of his own making, eh? This will bite Coulson back, for sure.

A lot of interesting little tidbits too:

    - Coulson's "muscle memory" being gone makes perfect sense if he is a life model decoy(bassically a robot) modeled after real coulson, who is still dead.
    - REALLY love the "unexpected element" nature of Skye - we as viewers can't actually be sure whether she will HELP or HINDER at any time possible.
    - Its interesting to note that Skye is VERY good actress - to Ward she is all vulnerable and Damsely, but once in front of this week's villain, she is all nefarious and unhinged. Makes you wonder, once again on if we even saw the real her yet.
    - Its interesting to note that Skye's "backstory bit" came AFTER Ward told her his and it was a quite similar kind of tale, calling back towards the exact same factors Ward would find "relatable".. Would not be surprised that either her's or BOTH OF THEM backstories are pretty much fake. Her's most likely though.
    - Interesting double meaning at the whole "I am committed, I want this" sentence Skye said at the end. For Ward that sounds like commitment to becoming part of SHIELD. To us the viewers, that has another meaning considering we know she is a mole.

  9. This show is kinda lame and kinda great. Very addictive for a nerd like me!

  10. Tonight was the last night I was gonna give this show, as the last 2 didn't catch me like I felt they should have. Glad I did. Best episode so far, and has earned another few weeks watching. Hopefully the ratings reflect the growing quality tomorrow.

  11. I always try to give a show at least 6 episodes... I didn't fall in love with my favorite series until the 4th episode... Now, I might leave them on the DVR for a while, but I always try for at least 6. Sometimes shows are better when you watch several episodes in a row.

I'm glad you liked it better tonight.

  12. I loved how Skye got the job done.

  13. I like to think of it as kind of campy and kinda great. It definitely pulls on my heart strings periodically.

  14. I would have liked to have seen the reactions of Fitz and Simmons to Hall's death at Coulson's hands but can't wait for that shit to hit the fan later on. Coulson creating supervillains is probably not in your jobspec!

  15. In my country Shield premiered yesterday with the first 2 episodes...it didn´t get my interest, not my kind of show, but I may try the next episode to be sure.

  16. That's about the way I was looking at it too. I wasn't sure for awhile if I'd even watch it last night. Now things seem to be coming together and picking up. I'll be watching it again next week.

  17. That was just a ploy to keep out of trouble. There's still the possibility that she'll leak something for Rising Tide to publish online. At some point she'll have a serious disagreement with the rest of them and post something in the heat of the moment.

  18. I find it very likely. Dr. Hall is a known Marvel villain in the comics (called Graviton). The ending certainly hinted at a possible return in the future.

  19. Can you imagine the s--tstorm that Fury will bring down on poor Coulson? I mean, he was royally p!ssed about the "bus" getting near destroyed :P

  20. Ha yes the bus is nothing compared to this!

  21. Another entertaining episode. The overall story for each episode is good. I like the humor, and stereotype reversals (i.e., truck driver is SHIELD agent, SHIELD scientist is a bad guy, etc.). I'm so glad the main characters are starting to get some backstory.

Coulson 2.0 - This Coulson is totally some kind of clone or something. The muscle memory loss is just another small hint towards it as far as I'm concerned. I don't mind the slow reveal though. And if they surprise me, all the better.

Skye - Skye is growing on me. The actress is doing pretty well and learning her way through the role. This episode gave her some more time to shine, and I think she did well with it.

Tech geeks - I still don't understand most of what Fitz-Simmons say (and I'm usually quite good with tech speak and British accents), and the actors are still a bit cartoonish in their roles, but I do like their sibling-friendship relationship.

May - I'm curious to learn more about May, and am happy she finally wants to commit to field work. I look forward to more kickass Melinda May fight scenes.

Ward - The only part of the show not improving is Ward imo. I'm sure this is meant to be part of his characterization, but it comes across as stiff acting, at least to me. Not only is his character not charismatic, but as of this episode, he's not all that likable. Normally, when characters start sharing their sad childhoods, I feel sorry for them, empathize, and relate. If they're decent actors, I can see them conveying some kind of vulnerability or emotion. I felt that with Skye and her orphan story. Ward though, didn't convey any emotion across during his story, at least to me.

I am still finding the show enjoyable, so I'll be sticking around. Best parts are still the cool tech, special effects, and story.

  22. This series is improving and this last episode was the best one yet for me. The "I.Q. Twins" are funny, but still played a little to cartoonish for my likes. It's official folks..........more Melinda May GOOD and field agent Melinda May is even better! The pasting of this episode has greatly improved since the pilot. As far as Coulson goes..........I prefer "Alien Clone" theory over "Time Traveler" theory. I'll tune in next week.............this series still has my interest. 4 YOUR VERY OWN MELINDA MAY SHIELD, I am Nobody!!!

  23. It was my least favorite so far but it had its good moments and I am still enjoying it a lot. I wish they would go into a more serialized approach though that could also explore the characters a bit more. And I would like to see more supernatural stuff in the veins of the pilot. But it was still good, I am sold on the show.
