  1. gave it a good, all set up except that hopefully the Dana plot is over for now and we can go on with the other more pertinent plots....

  2. Another week of: I wish the show was about Quinn.

  3. And: I wish Dana commit suicide without failing it. Stupid hoe.

  4. Thought this one was pretty suspenseful and even though it didn't happen, was just me, or did anyone else feel a Dick Cheney hunting accident scene coming on with our new jerky director of the CIA???

Glad the Dana thing was somewhat resolved, but it was little anti-climatic outside of the near car accident. I did really feel bad for her in her final bed room scene.

Carrie getting abducted right under Quinn's nose was interesting. I like his character much more this season than last season. Seems like he really cares for her. Saul, you're constantly being played and you better try and help Carrie after everything she just put herself through, despite trying to do right by Jessica. (Every time something goes wrong for him, he gets cynical!!).

I hope next week we get back to Brody though. I have no idea how he's going to ever get out of that mess unless someone blows up the neighborhood!

  5. Ha, I was sure Saul was going to shoot the "new" CIA director ;)

  6. The symbolism in that conversation was amazing!!

  7. I thought the comment about Romeo and Juliet, and that story not turning out well for Juliet was a quixotic little homage to Clare's former role as Juliet! That made me smile.

Glad to see less emphasis on Dana this epi. I'm finding I like Quinn. And poor Saul, suckered again. I liked his comeback at the "celebratory" party. But it won't endear him to his new boss. He may have to go off the rails for his plot with Carrie now.

    Nice catch!!!. :)
I just hope it's not going to be thematic to Homeland's ending though...maybe just Brody's?

  9. Finally an episode that I loved. I always liked Quinn and it was great to see a lot more of him. I´m sure he is not gonna be happy that Carrie disappeared on his watch. He seems more concerned than Saul.
Another strong episode for Carrie, her story is great. I´m not missing Brody one bit.

  10. How about a Quinn spinoff? Life as a black-ops agent, I'd watch that.

  11. We will certainly hope not...but this is a very dark show. It's hard to predict. They love to twist stories on their heads.

  12. Well, I can't really say that. I do want to find how how he got where he is, and what will become of him. I do like the chemistry between them, but it wouldn't kill me if they don't get back together. Just keep it as a thriller series with international intrigue.

  13. I know what you mean. I would also like to see how Brody´s story evolves. But this whole episode past without me thinking about him even once, so that is what I mean by I don´t miss him. I don´t dislike his character.
I have no need to see Carrie and Brody back together.

  14. Every episode that has Quinn having Carrie's back is an episode I am pleased with. Truly Quinn has become one of those characters I really love and I hope we see more of him rather than certain plots which are getting stale now.

  15. People herrang on the Dana plot a lot but you can't deny Morgan Saylor is turning in one hell of a performance.

  16. Ahaha I came here to say the same thing! I catched the reference to Romeo+Juliet too, nice!

  17. Finally back to being what Homeland was all about. Awesome.

  18. I liked last week's better. The show is having troubles balancing itself and I feel like not having Brody here makes the show lacking something, it's just not the same. It feels that we are forced to watch through a lot of pointless scenes in its place which slow down the pace of the overall episode. They are turning it into more of a character development type of show and taking away the action and plot twists for the most part. It still leads to a good show, but it's just not the same excellent show it was. I mean, I could summarize this episode as being 1)Dana realizes she has to come back home and does, 2)Carrie is taken and 3)Saul learns he will not be the new director of the CIA. All these three things could have been done in the first 20 minutes of the show easily, they stalled for half an episode, and that is my problem with Homeland right now. What happens is good, it just takes too damn long! I mean, I have been the biggest defender of the Dana storyline around here and even though I really felt bad for her in the bedroom scene when she had her breakdown (some serious good acting right there), I feel that they exaggerated in this episode with how much time was spent around her.. Same goes for Saul's political scenes. Did we need that many?

Anyway, on to the good parts: loved the Jessica-Carrie scene and Jessica admitting that Carrie was right when she came to their house at the end of the first season. This show is so ironically delicious though because this time Jessica is wrong again about Brody. Quinn having Carrie's back was good, I like his character. Carrie being taken was obviously an excellent scene. And as I've said, I loved the Dana breakdown scene.

  19. I also like Quinn, wish we could learn more about him

  20. I, on the contrary, am strongly missing Brody and I feel the show is hurt by his absence greatly. As for Quinn and Saul, I think the show is trying to make that point exactly, that Quinn is more worried about Saul. I wonder if this will lead to some sort of bigger storyline in which Saul loses it and goes too far. We shall see.

  21. I agree for the most part. But you know, I think the point of Quinn on the show right now is to provide a contrast with Saul. Saul is now willing to do whatever it takes even if it means sacrificing Carrie, being either physically (he was fine with her being taken this week) or mentally (by locking her up on the hospital before). Whereas Quinn, who barely knows Carrie, was really worried and expressed genuine concern for her, Saul was happy with the development because it meant the plan had worked. I found that very interesting and suggestive that they could be taking Saul's down a dark path in which he stops being able to see right from wrong.

  22. Thank you! That breakdown scene in the room was incredible!

  23. I agree, so many subtitles! It was my favorite scene from the episode!

  24. Well we know they achieved the "goal" of getting to the Iranian guy, but we don't know if Carrie was made, meaning we don't know if the plan work, because the consequences of the meeting are unknown. But I think Saul always gets jerky when things don't work out for him, because to say, that she's 'always on her own' I think was untrue, since HE's the one that really wants this and he NEEDS Carrie to stay alive to make anymore progress, otherwise it's a pointless venture.

  25. I too feel like this season is not as good as the other two. I no longer see any point in keeping the Brody family around. I hope they find another interesting storyline.
I think you might be right about Saul.

  26. CARRIE: Dana's a bright girl, she'll see right through him.
JESSICA: She's in love, who knows what she'll see?!

    [CARRIE thinking: Uhh, fair point.]
