I don't like that Cristina and Meredith are breaking up. Stop that.
And stop being so creepy, Leah. No wonder Alex ended things with you.
Poor Alex. I had a feeling his dad was talking about another son, but then Shonda tricked me for a few minutes. Loved them singing together before it got ruined and Alex punched him. Didn't like him yelling at Jo, although I understand it.
IT WAS PERF! Once again, Grey's showed me my love for this show. I love how they mixed it up with the editing and the layover of the writing. Loved following the mug at the beginning and seeing all the mugs at the end.
Loved the Cristina/Owen music added in there. Loved the 'neediness' element of Leah. Another reason for me to love to hate her. Loved the story about how Alex's dad brought him to see a pediatrician when he was young. Mere was perfect. (Needed a little more Bailey, methoughts, but it was still solid) Cristina was golden with her 'balls' trying out new things (which I must also give credit to Shane! Awesome work buddy!). She is definitely going to get an Avery Award by the end of the season.
Best episode since so far of the season. Probably best episode since Bailey's wedding I might add...
Weird but great episode. Poor Alex going through that all over again, but I don't think it was fair of him to blame Jo for it. I don't like how they created a rift between Cristina and Mer. I also found it strange how quickly the new interns became residents.
I didn't even realize until the episode had ended that Jackson was AWOL.
And stop being so creepy, Leah. No wonder Alex ended things with you.
I don't really think she's creepy, she just gets attached way too fast. I'm gonna need more of backstory tough to understand what is going on with her.
- Really Arizona, really? - I felt so bad for Alex, I really wanted him to reconcile with his dad, and then it turns out his father wasn't even talking about him. I wonder if he realized who Alex rally was. - I don't like what Meredith said to Cristina, she was clearly trying to hurt her back. I guess Cristina's tough love backfired. It'll be interesting to see how this will play out.
Was this ep off for anyone else? Maybe it was the way it was directed. It seemed disjointed even though it directed to have everything connected. It was like they tried too hard to fit each scene together that it came off cheesey.
Leah, spent one night (not sexually) with Arizona and she is already in love with her, ugh, talk about clingy!
Why start a riff between Meridith and Cristina now with this being Cristina's last year, its not called for Shonda. You should have done that 2 or 3 seasons ago.
And my heart broke when Alex's farther took out the photo of his Other son. I believe his farther realized who Alex was after Alex punched him..We'll see what happens in the weeks to come. Freaking Jo should keep her mouth shut, its not her place to try and 'fix' things.
The Mer-Cristina blow-up has been a long time coming. Too much unresolved stuff there... Off the top of my head, Cristina blames Mer for her PTSD, but that's never resolved, the intern surgery fiasco where Mer supposedly did not have Cristina's back, not resolved, Cristina telling Mer that she's not her person anymore, not resolved, the fight they had before Cristina left for Mayo, not resolved, Mer's hurt at Cristina refusing to be her kids' backup mommy, not resolved.... See where it's going? They had a codependent relationship for a very long time, they never cared who was investing how much in the relationship. But Cristina telling Mer that she was not her person anymore was, I think, where Mer may have turned a corner. Now she's in a real relationship with Derek, and she has give and take there, may be she feels a bit shortchanged by Cristina. That being said, Mer-Cristina- The best couple EVER... After Sheldon-Penny :)
Are there any other upset Crowen fans out there? How are they going to use the Crowen song from S5 for Owen and Emma. That really bothered me. Give them their own damn song Shonda. I felt so bad for Alex. I really thought his dad was talking abt him the entire time:( Meredith is really holding a grudge w/ Cristina. Would Meredith be doing a research project if Cristina hadn't said what she said? I think not. Leah seriously weirds me out. I could totally see her going Gary Clark and shooting up the hospital again. Arizona is an idiot for texting her. She should have text April who has only had like 30sec of screen time in the last 2 episodes. Stephanie dropping that mug was way too dramatic. You're a doctor, get it together. I'm starting to see what I feared would happen this season. The original cast is being over shadowed by the newbies. Bailey's storyline is pretty much non-existent at this point.Pretty solid episode though. It's evident they're progressing towards something.
I don't think she's creepy, Just very lonely :-( And she just REALLY want someone to like her... I'm also hoping for an explanation in her backstory. & I hope she hasn't scared away Arizona.
we've already been suffering the entire season w/ them not being together then they go and do that?!?! I swear I was just tweeting abt that song b/c everyone always tweets abt the "Merder song" and then they add it in the ep in the wrong way. I swear I screamed "no the hell they didn't" as soon as I heard it. SMH If I see Owen even inch toward that vent w/ Emma I'm done lol but seriously!
I was kind of annoyed with the editing we were getting during the episode because it was too distracting and forced but in the end I liked it when I saw the last scene between Derek and Meredith and Derek's narration. It was a good episode with good, solid storylines. I am into this season so far, all storylines and episodes have been solid. However, I don't appreciate that we got no Jackson, one Bailey scene and one Owen scene. I mean, it's very odd. I did like the focus on Meredith and Derek, as well as Christina and Alex, but no need to give so many scenes to Stephanie or even Shane. I do like Shane though so I was happy to see them having him deal with Brook's death at last. Leah is also growing on me but all this Arizona storyline is very strange for me, I can't have any sympathy for Arizona I am affraid. Love where Alex storyline is going, I hope they don't drop it, Justin Chambers was amazing.
I love Christina and Meredith's relationship and it is definitely a cornerstone of Grey's Anatomy, but I feel that they needed to have the show progress to a Meredith-Derek thing. I mean, even Ellen Pompeo came public about her disapproval to the fact that Meredith and Derek marriage meant nothing if he was never going to be her person. I think it is more balanced the way it is now. I am sure Meredith and Christina will sort it all out though.
I think Christina and Meredith's issues are coming from a real organic place. I understand both of their POVs, I think it is well done and well portayed and I like it. Also, they did have the fight in season 5 too. I don't remember how it started but I remember it lasted for quite some episodes.
I think Meredith said what she felt to Christina, I don't think she was trying to hurt her back. To me, their fight is great because of how organic it feels. Also, I am with you on Alex!
I didn't see Alex's dad talking about other son coming, Shonda was really cruel to us an to Alex. I disagree with Meredith and Christina though because I think it's very real and mirrors a very possible real life conflict between two friends who get to different stages in life. I think it's organic and well played.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I actually think Alex's dad was talking about taking his other son to the pediatrician and not about Alex, tbh.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think so too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't like Cristina and Mer fighting either.
ReplyDeleteI thought that he might be talking about Alex's younger brother, but I didn't think he would have another son, that came out of nowhere for me.
Weird but great episode.
ReplyDeletePoor Alex going through that all over again, but I don't think it was fair of him to blame Jo for it.

ReplyDeleteS9 was a whole year, Mer & Co were also interns for one year but it was spread through S1 to S3.
- Really Arizona, really?
ReplyDelete- I felt so bad for Alex, I really wanted him to reconcile with his dad, and then it turns out his father wasn't even talking about him. I wonder if he realized who Alex rally was.

But her "I can't tell you, don't ask me. Okay, I'll tell you" was kinda annoying.
ReplyDeleteI know, but two episodes ago, they were studying for their test and now all of a sudden, they have already passed it
ReplyDeleteI think he did realize it from the way he looked at Alex.
ReplyDeleteWas this ep off for anyone else? Maybe it was the way it was directed. It seemed disjointed even though it directed to have everything connected. It was like they tried too hard to fit each scene together that it came off cheesey.
ReplyDeleteAgree, it worked fine on a few scenes but at some point during the episode the transitions were too much.
ReplyDeleteWell the show has a track record of not handling the interns very well.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely about his Other son!
ReplyDeleteLeah, spent one night (not sexually) with Arizona and she is already in love with her, ugh, talk about clingy!

I think it's a new start for both Arizoan and Callie not the end, and also not think Arizona hooked up with Leah that night

ReplyDeleteHmm, At least these interns are regular, the previous interns are nowhere to be seen.
ReplyDeleteAre there any other upset Crowen fans out there? How are they going to use the Crowen song from S5 for Owen and Emma. That really bothered me. Give them their own damn song Shonda. ReplyDeleteOMG YES! I'm a huge Crowen shipper and when I heard them playing that song, I nearly threw my laptop away. They can't do that!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more.

ReplyDeleteI missed Jackson in the middle of the episode. Owen and Bailey were barely on it too, I think that was very strange.
ReplyDeleteThey never explained what was up with those, true
ReplyDeleteI didn't see Alex's dad talking about other son coming, Shonda was really cruel to us an to Alex. ReplyDeleteI agree with that. I've been warming up to her but that part was too much for me.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing the Steve guy once Season 8, and after that we've never saw any of those interns
