Made me wonder if Diane is in fact leaving... two many parallels between her marriage and the firm, I don't think she will be able to dissolver her partnership with Will. Can we have Elsbeth for every episode? Please?
I have a feeling that she might stay with the firm in the wake of Alicia's leaving. Losing her along with everyone who's going to the new firm will cripple Lockhart Gardner and it was never Diane's intention to destroy her own firm.
My point was that the drama has gotten away from the court cases when they all worked together on them as a unit. Spliting the firm up and Diane becoming a judge changes too many things. I liked the focus on their interesting cases.
I think you're forgetting the important thing here: with the firm splitting we may finally see Alicia and Will clash in court over one of those interesting cases.
Me too. She went against "better judgement" when she married Kurt, because she loves him. I think she might do the same thing with the firm, stay in the "sinking ship" and refuse the judgeship, because she loves Will and the business she helped built. Alicia leaving might be just what she needed in order to make up her mind.
Well when you look at her options, she can either burn her bridges and hang out for a Judgeship that she's not guaranteed, or she can return to the firm and potentially be its saviour. It also makes for good TV to have Will and Diane facing off against Alicia and Cary. It'll be bitter and it will be epic.
Yeah see where you're wrong is that the new firm sets up a whole new courtroom dynamic. Will and Diane vs Cary and Alicia in court will be a hell of a battle. Good shows do these kinds of things to keep from getting stale.
The one things I didn't like was that prat who dished dirt... I forgot his name. But blackmailing your future bosses over 30 thousand dollars when you stand to make much more if the firm succeeds is just dumb.
Well, by telling Will that Alicia's leaving, she's in effect screwing Alicia over - so Peter might change his mind about supporting her candidacy for judgeship. Diane might be forced to stay in L&G.
See, I thought about that, but my problem with this theory is Peter has no legitimate reason to not support Diane. He has the "you screwed my wife" excuse, but that can look very bad politically speaking, specially considering Alicia screwed Diane first by going behind her back, taking her clients and leaving the firm (ok, I'm putting it in black and white and ignoring the shades of grey, but that's how it would probably be sold). What's even worse, he went over the Chief of Justice's head to appoint Diane, and now he won't? If I were Eli, I wouldn't let him change his mind.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Brilliant Elsbeth, clever Kalinda, entertaining Jackie and Eli antics, and powerful Diane scenes. One of the best episodes of the series.
ReplyDeleteI am not liking the storylines this season. I liked when Will and Alicia were together but this season is just nothing but turmoil.

We'll True Blood is about to do its last season so maybe Ellsberg could become a new partner in Lockhart/Gardner or Florrick/Argos eekkk

ReplyDeleteThis is probably the best drama on network tv, and you're worried about romantic relationships?
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteOh that ending was goooood. What will happen with Diane? will the show follow her as a judge?
