I thought the episode was awesome, who is Kate Beckett kidding she is so not happy being a fed, good that she learned the grass is not always greener on the other side, I'm just glad she had a reality check and she'll be back at the 12th with her and the boys!!!!!
I love Castle, the cast, the stories-- but I hate the stupid pounding continuous background sounds and blaringnoise! I want to hear what they're saying, not thumps drowning out words. Guess they want to rev up the emotions with these hyped beats, well, it revs up my emotions-- to anger and wanting to turn off the whole stupid thing. I watch TV to relax and enjoy, not be bombarded with useless noise that cancels out the words and stories. Why hire good writers who write great episodes then smash them to bits, with blaring non-meaning noise. Will try one more episode, then stop the aggravation.
Awesome episode. Beckett is finding out things are always better someplace else. Nathan had me in tears with the conversations back home to Martha and Alexis. He is so great at the comedy but his drama is terrific. One more episode with the DC connection then it is back to NYC. With a Castle wedding in outer space (Nathan & Stana were asked what there characters wedding plans would be- Beckett eloping, Castle outer space. tidbit from Paley) ha ha.
This episode was everything I was hoping: no "surprise ending," (since that was never the point), but such fabulous character moments in how Beckett and Castle and the rest dealt with his near-brush with death. I just loved how Castle and Beckett were each so determined to put on a brave face for the other. I loved watching Castle worry about how Beckett would cope after his death, and still managing to crack jokes about the whole thing, ("I'd rather die than drink that sludge... Too soon?"). I loved Beckett's sheer determination not to give up, even when it looked like she might already be too late; and watching Martha figure out instantly that there was trouble: "he was nice, sincere, no smart-ass quips... so something is definitely wrong"! I loved watching Castle actually earn real respect from the Feds, and seeing Caskett work together as brilliantly as ever even under the worst kind of pressure, and oh, that beautiful 'reunion' at the hospital! Even at the very end, those hints that the 'perfect' job in DC may not suit Beckett so well after all... It was pretty much perfect.
Actually Ive kinda liked the location shakeup this season. Its breathed some Fresh air into the series. The show has never relied on NYork to be a success.
Probably so. I think there's also been a lot of misunderstanding from fans thinking the DC job was permanent, or at least long-term. Since it's only a pretty brief aside, and since we'll be 'going home' to the 12th precinct family soon, I've absolutely loved it: a really interesting new way to see our dynamic duo.
I enjoyed the Homage to the Wizard of Oz for the scene where dorothy wakes up in her own bed with all the people she loves surrounding her, Rick awoke to see everyone important to him including Pi.
Much better resolution than I expected, bringing up the first part as well. It's no TickTick/Boom, but it is easily better than the Pandora two-parter. Now if they would just get rid of the stupid blue filter and it would look a lot better.
You said everything I felt, so thank you for saving me from writing the words!:) Let me just add that I loved the scene when Castle passed away she called him "Rick", the adoration in her eyes in the hospital and the annoying face Castle made when he saw Pi there:) And yes, DC isn´t for her and she´s starting to realise it...for someone who always seeked justice for the victims having the evidence that proves someone is guilt and not being allowed to act on it? No, definetly not for her:)
At the end... after what kate says about partners and when she finds out that no investigation will be made against the SecDef... i she going to resign and move back to NY???
Good episode! I personally liked the first part better because it was a bit more unpredictable but this was a nice follow up. I really liked to see Lisa Edelstein on the show, I loved the dynamic she added, wish she could be added on a more recurring basis. The ending with Becket realizing that she is too black and white for the job was also quite well done. I think these were the most solid openings to a season Castle has done so far
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I really like Castle, but I want it back in New York!

ReplyDeleteLoved Beckett's love eyeballs all over Castle tonight. Stana Katic is sheer joy to watch onscreen.

Hang on one more week, and you're good to go. :)

ReplyDeleteI like it too. It gives Kate a chance to be the bad ass she really is without Gates reeling her back in because she wants to be the Alpha.
ReplyDeleteFavorite line of the ep ""I'd rather die than drink that sludge... Too soon?", classic Castle.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I think people are more upset about the characters left behind in NYork, than NY itself.

ReplyDeleteYes! I about fell off my couch laughing. So classic! :)
ReplyDeleteWhich is pretty crazy considering we are on a spoiler site and people should know that its not a permanent thing.

It was even better that the first part!! And THAT is saying something!

ReplyDeleteIf 6x01 and 6x02 count as this year's two parter, in my personal opinion, this was one of the better ones! :)

ReplyDeleteI would guess so. I think it is quite an organic reason to be honest.
ReplyDeleteYeah I forgot to comment on his phone scene, very well done
