I liked it pretty much, mostly for the performances, Mr. Jay Ryan got me amazed!!, my only complaint would be how desperate Cat is acting, I know she love him, and everything but since my perception she's not acting wisely, and there she's got the consequences.
OK, loved this episode! Glad to see on the boards and forums that people are worried about Cat's pushiness just like I am. But wow, got to hand it to the writers, the keep us on on toes. That episode whizzed by. Need to re-watch and prep for the review.
I liked the JT /Tess/Gabe scenes. I want to trust Gabe, but I still question his motives. Was he really checking the place out before helping Catherine or snooping. It seemed like snooping, but I am usually wrong Lol.
Awesome episode. The darker Beast is very well played by Jay Ryan, and Cat's vulnerable side played very well too by Kristin Kreuk- all working up to her finding herself again, until she realizes she can't go on like that. Vincent with his amnesia sensing her is also very well written and played, and although the ending was shocking- it was the Beast acting out, not V, and that just accentuated the fact that he doesn't remember her at all- V was shocked by his action as the beast, and mortified, and I am really looking forward to see how this will play out in future episodes. The S2 of BATB is just great!
even though the show ended on a bit of a bad note it shows just how much Vincent has been brain washed/re-programmed by M (although I suspect it isn't M he is working for). This story line is great and I can't wait until next episode.
I'm surprised at how everyone seems to be ok with the ending. Yes Cat was being too pushy, and the writers are trying to show us how this is not our Vincent, but that final scene was wrong in so many levels. And TBH I never in a million years thougth they would go that far, I mean, Vincent being violent towards Cat is just something I can't wrap my head around. I hope she gives him hell for it.
Wasn"t happy with Vincent pushing Cat.I"m just telling myself that is not the old Vincent .Because he will never hurt her.I am looking forward for his memory to comeback.
I'm not OK with it, but I don't see him as a normal guy who I might consider a jerk for assaulting a woman, he's like a robot with a mision now, and if he sees it compromised somehow, he will react to protect it, I don't know if I made myself clear, I mean, if the real Vincent had ever even touched Cat I would see it as something truly wrong, but now I kind of understand him.
While I mourn the old sweet vulnerable Vincent and the relationship he and Cat shared, I am enjoying what amounts to a whole new show. It's faster paced with more twists and turns and Beast 2.0 is gorgeous. I think that there is a lot of scope for all the cast to have some great storylines to work with! Love it and can't wait for the next episode!
I really enjoyed the episode except for the ending push. I didn't think it was necessary and hate when the writers bring that kind of issue up in a show especially between two characters you are supposed to root for as a couple. That being said some reactions made me think he punched or slapped her or something so while I found it hard to watch and something the editors should have edited out, it was better than my crazy imagination based on reactions. I'm sure V is horrified and will be made to pay for it. I don't have more to say about that except I didn't like it and I won't try to defend him. I do believe that is an isolated incident and yiu can bet after the reaction on twitter the writers will never go there again even with Beast Vincent. I'll just say this: this isn't a man pushing his girlfriend. It's a brain washed genetically altered half man half animal who is being controlled by an evil organization. And Vincent in Vincent form didn't do it but the brain washed beast. Not that it was fine anyway but just something to consider with all the other facts. I think that will be the turning point for him to try to get to know Cat and make things up to Cat like his reaction was one of I need to figure crap out so I never do that again I hate myself. I loved the sensing heartbeat thing. The action was great and fun. The humor helped lighten the mood. The pace was definitely up.Can't wait for next week. I think the danger to Cat storyline will fade quickly because they will end up teaming up in the near future I believe.
Wow, what an episode, and I have to give kudos to the writers, they were not afraid of giving us this controversial end scene, although they must have expected that some fans would hate it!
I am so not ok with it. V has to do a lot to redeem himself to Cat and to the fandom. Writers have to tread lightly as violence against women is not a topic they can just blow off. We have a lot of young viewers and want to make sure they get the right message about violence in a relationship.
None of us condone what Vincent did in the last scene but overall this episode was stellar and will definitely be a catalyst for a lot of things going forward. Be it Vincent and Catherine as a couple and and individuals. There will be a lot of self-reflection going forward and I for one am excited to see how it all plays out.
I don't think that people are ok with it, I don't think V was ok with it either. But I think it's the writers way of showing us that this is NOT V, and how far away he is from the V we knew in S1. I sort of expected the writers to push it to the edge before they bring VinCat back, the question is....where is there edge? I agree they need to be cautious, but this V is a dangerous person, not by his choosing, but dangerous none the less. I think they are trying to re-establish the element of danger within VinCat's relationship and this is all part of the "road blocks" for their relationship this season. I can't see Cat being ok with him pushing her, so he's gonna have a lot of work ahead of him.
I loved how this episode had me experiencing all different kinds of emotions. I was grinning like a fool through the sandwich scene (and that kiss was HOT!!) but the Tess and JT bar scene and V pushing Cat was a little heartbreaking. :( I like this edgier V but I hope his memory doesn't take TOO long to come back. And when it does, I hope V can become a combination of the old and the new. Cause, the more assertive V is very sexy. ;)
Overall, I liked the ep. It left me wanting more….as always! I'm really enjoying being able to watch it Sunday night and Monday night, because after Monday nights ep I realize it's less than a week till a new ep!! YAY! :)
I did like it. I know there is a lot of people upset but I said it last season too, Catherine is very pushy and she does not accept other people telling her no or back off very well. don't like the beast getting physical, not ok but she does have to wake up from this fantasy that she can "cure" him. I think there were good moments when you can see Vincent is still in there along with his feelings for Cat. He is trying and he does seem to want to find out about his life and she is that connection, and even stronger one, sadly than his lifelong best friend. I am in this!
I wasn't ok with it either but then I got to thinking... In episode 15 of last season, remember that Vincent was afraid to be intimate with Cat because he said he never felt so out-of-control as he did when he was with her? So now we have Vincent who they've already said is more in-control of his beast side, but he loses control with Cat. So, in a way, everything that happened (him losing his temper and yelling at her more than once, and then pushing her) just shows that he feels more out-of-control with her still. So that's good!
By OK, I meant how everyone is justifying Vincent for something that has no justification under ANY circumstance. I don't know, maybe I am overreacting, but violence against women is a very touchy subjects for me and I may be able to overlook a lot, just not this. I wish they'd find another way to show how NOT Vincent, this Vincent is.
I hadn't thought of it from that pov, and eventhough I suppose that stablishis a connection between our V and this V, they still went a Little too far. They need to be careful otherwise they may cross a line most fans won't forgive. And TBH, I always focused more on the fact that he fealt out of control, but his love for Cat made it possible for him to maintain it and/or regain it.
This episode was great, except where Vincent hit Catherine, but then he has changed a lot.The new season should be more action packed.Looking forward to it.Brenda
Great Episode had the right balance of everything.Loved the bar scene between JT and Tess!! @jay Ryan is just brilliant playing the new Vincent and beast you can see the turmoil the guy is starting to go through especially after that last scene with Catherine.Brilliant show so exciting.Well Done everyone involved!!!!
Wow, just wow this new Beast is something else I never thought I'd see the day Vincent would hurt Catherine he's going too have a lot of mending to do, the turmal there going through is totally heartbreaking, gosh I love this show!!!!
I love the new Vincent and he has a life outside of the two people (JT & Cat). Cat needs to take it easy and not push so hard because he's a mission oriented man now. When a man (a beast with unknown potential and psychological state) decides to hang out your don't push him to the brink - hence the ending. But I do love that Cat is dedicated and strong. Tess is there. JT I want to see more of every episode.
I can't believe i'm saying this. But it was OKAY. The previous episode was better. Things moved pretty fast. I mean to the point of kissing was acceptable. Even exciting. But like sleeping together? I don't know...i guess i wanted the writers to take a lesson from last season and rush things up. Anyways i don't want to be too critical. I enjoyed it too. Like the Vincent dragging Cat's chair scene. JT and tess's heart to heart. The last scene where Vincent Shoves Cat to the ground.
Awesome.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteYes,it was heartbreaking (the push). But I think it might be a turning point for him. He looked just as upset as Cat did. :(
