Hmmm.....not to give one sufficient reasons for deduction, but why do I have the feeling that they intend to explore features related to political appointments? ;).
They've extended the bilingual bonus a lot this year. Love the diversity. So far, we've had Latin, Sanskrit, Russian, Greek. Pumped to see where it goes.
"Do you remember how the Titans were finally killed? Before they could eat their youngest child, Zeus, he wrapped a boulder in his swaddling clothes and then watched as his father choked on it." (Greer)
Well the Grecian titles most likely are going to relate to either Decima and/or the machine doing something extraordinary again (because the Grecian references tend to relate to God and or Gods mythology, which Greer also used titans as an analogy either in "Dead Reckoning"or "Trojan Horse"). Although we have had a bit of Russian and Latin themes as well, the Grecian themes were introduced last year with Greer and the Sea God "Protues", but we also have the character Zoe. One of the cliff hangers from last season was this high ranking woman referred to as "Ma'am" who contacted The Special Council and Hersh in the episode "God Mode".
From POI Wiki:
Control is an unnamed woman, addressed as "Ma'am" who calls Special Counsel and Hersh after they found out that the Machine had moved itself to a new unknown location. She gives Hersh the order to "seal the room", meaning to kill everyone present, including Special Counsel.
She was later seen sitting in a black town car, perusing a file named "Memorandum for Control - Department recruitment status 2012-2013" when Hersh met her in her car and tells her that Research had made contact about a new number. She told him to get a team ready.
Could be, but it's also already tied into the playing "God" themes relating to the machine/artificial intelligence, as last season we were introduced to man named Greer (and the Technology company Decima), who made a Titan analogy about 'out with the old Gods and in with the new'...We had two Grecian episode titles: "Proteus" (Sea God. It was used as metaphor for 'the storm' brewing and tides changing) and "Trojan Horse"...(We also have a character named Zoe)...
Bad Robot also uses a lot of Grecian references (Lost, Fringe, and possibly the upcoming Almost Human--see "Dorian" people), but it seems to be most thematically prominent in POI!
If POI follows the format of S1 & 2, Episode 10 will be the cliff hanger in mid-December, right before the holiday break...and Episode 11 will resolve that nail biter as the first new episode in mid-Jan, 2014.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Sounds like a 2 parter because the titles have a sort of ring to them. They'll probably be the first 2 episodes in January
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a two-parter because they have casted a guest role for these both episodes.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know they casted someone for a guest role? :p
ReplyDelete;)

ReplyDelete"Lethe" means 'oblivion' in Greek. "Alethea" means 'truth' in Greek. What's with the Greek names? (proud to be Greek)

ReplyDeleteGreek being a dead language may have something to do with the past of Finch or carter. .
