Well, Adam & Eddy said OUATIW is set at the beginning of OUAT season 2, so I'm guessing Cora was before her and she left when Regina was about to cast the curse in the FTL
The Red Queen is commonly mistaken for the Queen of Hearts in the story's predecessor, Alice in Wonderland. The two share the characteristics of being strict queens associated with the color red. However, their personalities are very different. Indeed, Carroll, in his lifetime, made the distinction between the two Queens by saying:“I pictured to myself the Queen of Hearts as a sort of embodiment of ungovernable passion - a blind and aimless Fury. The Red Queen I pictured as a Fury, but of another type; her passion must be cold and calm - she must be formal and strict, yet not unkindly; pedantic to the 10th degree, the concentrated essence of all governesses! Oh, I didn't know they said that... But, Cora left before Regina casted the curse? Did that appear in an episode and I'm completely lost or you just guess that as well? :P Now that I think about it, they never gave much of Cora's "background" in Wonderland and partnering up with Hook :/
Cora DID left Wonderland before Regina casted the curse. So it's possible that the Queen of Hearts took advantage of the situation and became the Queen of Wonderland. But we can also see that the Red Queen don't live in the same place as the Queen of Hearts. So maybe there are several realms in Wonderland, as in the Enchanted Forest, and the Red Queen (not this one considerating that she's quite young) and the Queen of Hearts (Cora) were both Queens of something in Wonderland 28 years ago (before the curse). But I don't know if in Wonderland the daughters of the Queens become queens themselves or something like that... So I think there are more chance that the Red Queen has taken her power after Cora left Wonderland... PS : sorry for my English, I'm French and I'm just 16 so if you see some mistakes, don't blame me :)
I guess we'll find that out, if there is something we can be grateful is that Adam and Eddy always explain the stuff :) I don't think there are couple of realms in Wonderland, tho. In the last ep the Red Queen said something like "I fought for this throne." or something like that (that's what made me wonder about Cora)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I really really want to know how the Red Queen took the crown from Cora, or did Cora come after her? I want their backstory!
