This week's episode of New Girl was a mix of funny and sad moments, which is good, since it reminds us that this show isn't just a comedy.

Schmidt is still dating both Elizabeth and Cece. Unknowing that, Nick and Jess want to go on a double date with him and Cece. Too bad, Nick decides to pop up just when Schmidt is with Elizabeth! Too late for Schmidt to hide, because he admits he can't choose between Elizabeth and Cece.

Then Nick decides to cover his friend... and when I say 'cover', I mean literally... he covers his head with a helmet, so when Jess sees him, she can't look at his face. The scene in which she thinks they're gonna have sex without kissing was so cute.

I found ironic the fact that while the entire episode focused on the two couples (or one couple and a threesome, whatever), on the other side we had a single Winston, battling for a table at the restaurant. He just wants to spend the night with his friends and enjoy their company, so Winston tries to sabotage every lunches and dinners at the restaurants he goes.
Then, at the end, when he looks at the couples having fun around him, he comes to the realization he's single and he's ok with that.
That was a superbe line and a wonderful, but sad, scene.

I liked the scenes in the cars between Nick & Jess and Cece & Schmidt.
Jess learns that Nick knows that Schmidt is cheating on Cece with Elizabeth. She's furious, of course, because Cece is her best friend, so he wants Nick to tell her the truth.
In the other car, Schmidt is freaking out and he's trying to avoid Nick (or maybe the truth?).
Anyway, the truth is soon revealed at the restaurant, where Cece punches Nick in his 'jewels'. Funny scenes, but then tears come down from Cece's face when she realizes all the mess Schmidt's lies have been causing.

Moral of the episode? Schmidt blames Nick and Jess for the end of his relationship with both Elizabeth (who put a cake in his face as thanksgiving) and Cece, and he promises he will do anything to sabotage their relationship. Frightened by Schmidt's threats, Nick and Jess start naming all the things they have in common, so he can't come between the two of them.

So what did you think about this episode? Is Schmidt really going to break Jess and Nick's relationship? What about Cece? Will she get through all this?
